HT4910 Calendar event time differences

Although the time on all of my devices is set at Eastern Standard Time, when my calendar syncs, it changes the time on the device not created on to Pacific time. If I change on that device, it takes 3 hours off of my other device.  Help??

Thank you for your response. I have checked the time zone between the computers and the iPhone settings many, many times. They agree (the iPhone says "Luxembourg" and the control panel says "GMT + 1:00" which is basically the same thing). Someone recommended trying to sync from an application other than Outlook (like Thunderbird) which is not platform specific (since there can be conflicts between PC and Apple hardware/software). But I don't see where there is any option in the iTunes application to utilize any other application but Outlook for syncing the calendar. Is this correct information?

  • Google calendar event times are shown as -1h

    Summary:
When I create a new event in the built in WP8 calendar app to a Google calendar the time of the event is being displayed as one hour earlier.
    Steps to reproduce:
Create a new event in calendar. Choose one of the Google calendars configured (I have two configured in my phone). Set time as 2013/07/17 16:00. Save the event.
    Expected behavior:
The event time in the agenda view is shown as 2013/07/17 16:00.
    Observed behavior:
The event time in the agenda view is shown as 2013/07/17 16:00 for a few seconds. It then automatically changes to 2013/07/17 15:00.
    Other notes:
I have two Google calendars configured. I can observe the same misbehavior on both.
I also have a Microsoft (@hotmail.com) calendar configured. This works as expected.
When I log into my Google calendar using a web browser, the time is shown as expected.
When I use a third party calendar (Chronos) and sync my Google account directly, the time is shown as expected.
When I use a third party calendar (Chronos) and use it simply as an interface to the built in WP calendar the time is off again showing 2013/07/17 15:00.
The timezone on my WP is set to (UTC) London.
I started noticing this perhaps a week ago. It was working as expected before.
Phone model is Nokia Lumia 925
    Phone OS version is 8.0.10327.77
Notes 1-6 suggests to me that the internal calendaring module in WP8 fails to recognize DST (daylight saving time) in timezone (UTC) London or misinterprets relevant information fields on Google calendar objects.
Note 7 suggests to me that this is related to an update to my WP8 phone or a change in Google calendar API.
Any help is much appreciated, this is driving me rather nuts.
    Thanks,
    Kaarel

Further investigation reveals this only happens when the event is created from within WP native calendar app and disappears when I make an edit to the event in any other calendar client including Google web. So a more appropriate description of the problem would be:
"Native calendar app keeps subtracting 1h off a Google calendar event on EVERY edit"
Create an event at 2013/07/17 15:00 in WP native calendar app. Result: Event shows as 2013/07/17 15:00 in the calendar app for a few seconds, then updates itself to 2013/07/17 14:00.
Edit the event title and save in WP native calendar app. Event time moves by -1h again to 2013/07/17 13:00.
Edit the event title in Google web calendar.
Subsequent edits in WP native calendar do not mess up the time any longer. If I fix the time to what I originally intended (2013/07/17 15:00) in WP native calendar app, it stays there and shows correctly in all previously mentioned calendar viewers.
I just learned that Lumia 925 was released with GDR2 update pre-installed. This update is only now being made generally available. If the issue is secific to the CalDAV implementation in GDR2 rather than specific to my phone only, this would make a lot of angry people. I hope I'm wrong on this though as it's an extremely frustrating problem.

  • Why is there a 2 hour difference between calendar event times after syncing? i.e., Dental appointment set at 9am on iphone but shows as 7am in icloud on pc after syncing.

I noticed that when I enter a time for an event on my calendar on my iphone then sync it to icloud the event is show but the time for the event shows a 2 hour difference. Example: Dental appointment set for 9:00 am on my iphone but after sync to icloud on my PC, it shows the time to 7:00 am on my PC calendar. Why is this?

I found where to check icloud settings. Changed setting from Pacific to Central. That solved the problem.Thank you so much.

Hello corndoll and welcome to the BlackBerry® Support Community Forums.
Have you checked the Time Zone setting in your Microsoft® Outlook® to ensure it's set to the same as your device and computer?
When you create a new appointment in Outlook, is the Time Zone being used the correct one?
In your Device, when you go to create a new appointment, is the proper TIme Zone being displayed when creating the appointment?
    Thanks!

  • Calendar changing times

I have started using iCloud, and have noticed that my calendar event times have changed from what I first put them in as.
Example, hair appointment this week was moved to 3 hours later, and still unsure of the time of another appointment in January as the time has been changed past business hours.
I am really not sure why this is happening, does anyone have any reasons or ideas?
I have just looked at iCloud and the times are all wrong. However on my phone the events I have updated have not changed yet. Very, very confused.

have you checked the time zone support,
goto settings>mail, contacts, calenders>time zone support and turn it on.

I am having multiple issues with syncing my iphone calendar and outlook calendar on my laptop
I mostly enter the original items on my laptop

This sounds like an error in Time Zone support. The time zone needs to be the same in Outlook as well as the phone.

  • Incorrect time in Live when calendar event accepted on iphone

When accepting a calendar entry on the iPhone, scheduled for 10:00 PST, it appears in the calendar at the correct time but when the calendar syncs back to Live (Hotmail Calendar) it shows up in live at 2AM, thus an 9 hour difference.
Me time zone support on the iphone is set for Los Angeles and my Live calendar preferences are set to Pacific Time.
Here is how the calendar event got on the phone. From work, I scheduled a meeting with my home e-mail address using Lotus Notes at work. The invitation arrived on my iPhone and I accepted it into my personal Live calendar. (I have two Live calendars, my personal and the US Holidays that sync to the iphone)
On the iPhone it shows the correct time but on Live it shows 9 hours earlier!
Any suggestions on how to solve this problem?
    Thanks

    Barry,
As I indicated above, this is set and is correct, but for some reason things dont get scheduled on the default time zones.

  • IPhone 4S Calendar Event Defaults to Incorrect Time Zone

My iPhone, Win7 PC is set for Eastern Time. I use Outlook/Exchange and the Outlook calendar in Options is set for Eastern Time as well. I never had any issues until recently. My iPhone syncs with the Exchange server using ActiveSync.
A few weeks ago I was out west and changed my Win 7 O/S time zone to Pacific Time. I did not change anything in Outlook or on my iPhone. The iPhone has always been set for “Set Automatically” (Settings/General/Date & Time). Also, in Mail, Contacts and Calendars my Time Zone is Set for Montreal (where I live) with Time Zone Support “On”. I have never changed this from the day I got the iPhone. Whenever I travel the time zone automatically switches. When I came back from the west coast my phone switch back to Eastern as it should and I manually set the Win 7 O/S to Eastern as well.
Now for some reason, when I create a calendar event in Outlook (i.e. on the desktop) the event shows up correctly on the iPhone (example: a meeting for tomorrow at 2:00 PM Eastern shows up as tomorrow at 2:00PM on the iPhone). However, when I “edit” the calendar event on the iPhone, the time shows up as 11:00AM and the time zone is Los Angeles (3 hours apart from Montreal). You can just imagine how this is causing me havoc as I do business in different time zones and have to reschedule meetings often.
I have tried to set the time zone to something else and then back to eastern or Montreal. It makes no difference. When I create a calendar event directly on the iPhone the default time zone is Montreal and it shows up correctly on both devices.
    Any ideas what’s going on?

    Hi Song&DanceMan,
Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!
Issues with calendar time zone can be very frustrating. It sounds as though the Time Zone Support feature may be affecting these events. Please use the attached article for more information on Time Zone Support.

  • Event times on calendar differ from iPad and PC

The event time listed for events on my PC Calendar are an hour earlier than the events on my iPad Calendar.  I cannot figure out why that would be.  We live in the Central Time Zone of the US
    Thanks,
    Rick

The iPad has the correct times for the events -the PC is  1 hour earlier.  I thought maybe it was because we originally are from the East Coast and have now moved to Texas, but am now not so sure.
I did change the Time Zone Support setting on the iPad - it was not toggled , but that made no difference .
    Hoping there are other suggestions.

  • View "event times" on calendar display/window

How can I view calendar "Evevts times" on display window. They show when I print the month calendar, but can I "view all the times on screen."?

  • How can I see Calendar event END times at a glance?

How can I display my Calendar event titles exactly as I type them? I do not want Calendar to remove duration from the titles of my events. Otherwise I can't see event END times at a glance in month view; only start times. How can I "trick" Calendar to just show my titles as I type them - as I always could before I upgraded. I used to be able to enter "Seminar 9am-5:45" and it would appear that way regardless of how or what I chose to enter (or not enter) for duration.
    I am running OSX 10.9.3.

It's a bit weird, but if you type in the time info TWICE into the event title then Calendar uses/deletes one of them to populate the event details and leaves the other.

  • What happened to event times in the monthly calendar?

I upgraded (not really) to Mavericks and there are numerous issues; mail showing headers and no content, safari pages open completely jumbled and an essential calendar feature, event time in the month view, is gone.
Apple seems to be dumbing down it's systems for personal use while flipping the bird to corporate users.

    Hey there,
You can get the times to appear in regular (not full screen) view as well - just grab the edge of the calendar and drag it out to the left or right a bit; the times appear automatically at a certain window size.

  • TS3999 can't see times of my icloud calendar events when using month view...

I use a macbook pro and like to view my icloud calendar using month view so I can see the whole month at a glance.
It used to be that when I viewed my calendar using Google Chrome, the time of each event would show next to the event name. Recently, this changed and now the month view just shows the events, not the times. This is also true for my macbook ical - month view only shows events, no times.
Is there an option to allow the times to show when using month view? I looked in preferences and didn't see one.
Also, as a side note, I tested in Firefox and the times DO show when using month view. I just prefer using my ical or chrome, so would love to figure out a way to fix there.
    thanks for any help!

I was able to see some posts after I made mine and I found the answer to the macbook ical issue.

would still love any input on the google chrome issue. If anyone knows how to show event times in chrome, I'd love to hear how!
    thanks.

  • Travel time in calendar events

I've created a Calendar event and entered a location.  I see the map of the location in the event window.   When I go to select a travel time, it says "34 minutes from Work."    So, it's pulling my work address from Contacts.  Nice, but I'm not traveling to this event from work, I'm leaving from home.
I've been poking around for about an hour, and I can't see how to change this to use my home address as a starting point.  I've checked Contacts and confirmed that my home address is indeed identified as "Home."  It's the first address listed on my Contacts record.   I've looked at preferences for Maps, Calendar, and general system preferences, and don't see a way to set a default location, and there's nothing I can find in the editing of the event that lets me choose Home instead of Work.
Anyone know how to do this?
    Thanks!

This solved my questionRe: Calendar Travel Time Starting from Work when I want to Start from Home Oct 23, 2013 8:43 PM (in response to theglenlivet12)
    From Calendar's help:
To set your starting location, Calendar first looks for your location in any events that are up to three hours before this event. If Calendar doesn’t find a location, it uses your work address during work hours and your home address during other hours. (Your work hours are set in Calendar preferences using the “Day starts at” and “Day ends at” menus.) If your card in Contacts doesn’t have your addresses, Calendar uses your computer’s current location.

  • Calendar time difference

Hi, I have a problem, when I sync my Nokia 6300 with my Outlook calendar the appointment time gets changed on my phone to an hour earlier somehow. It has only recently started doing this, it was fine before. I would appreciate any suggestions. Many thanks

check to see that both your computer and your phone are set in your correct time zone. If they are not the same the phone could be trying to make up for the time difference by altering the alarm times by an hour.
You do not say where you are so I cannot give you your exact time zone.
Have you removed your battery from your phone recently and had to reset the time perhaps? This might have caused the problem
