HT4910 icloud usage

I am new to icloud, can i do the following, upload ALL my photos from an external usb drive to icloud so that all my i devices can see them (2 ipads and 2 ipods) or is icloud simply for photoes taken on the idevice. I told the icloud control panel which folder to share but do not see the photos on any device

Make sure photostream is turned on the pc and devices. Within pictures on the pc there is now a photostream folder and within that there is a upload folder. Copy whatever pictures you want and paste in the upload folder and they will go to photostream on your device. The way I do it is to make folders in pictures on my pc. Make sure you've downloaded iTunes to your pc from the apple site. Attach my ios device to the pc through iTunes and now you can select any pictures or folders you want. At the lower right side of iTunes check either sync or apply. This is a safer way because from that point on the only you can delete or add photos to the folders is do it on the pc then reattached the divice through Itunes and sync again.

where can i see and edit my icloud usage?

    To remove things from icloud:
Settings>icloud.  Turn off data storage for the listed apps by sliding switch to off.
Settings>icloud>Storage & Backups>Manage storage, tap the device of interest,  click Delete Backup.
To see how much memory is used by app data,  Settings>icloud>Storage & Backups, look in the Documents & Data section.

  • Additional icloud usage

How do I activate icloud for additional usage given that my ipod touch indicates that my current plan is for 15g for which I've paid AUST $21.00?  Also, how do I check payment details for the same?

Try calling the Apple online store for your country.  They process iCloud storage refunds and may be able to tell you.  Their number should be shown at the bottom of this page.

  • TS4036 ICloud usage

When I check settings>General>ICloud>manage storage I see 100MB still on an IPAD that I returned and had replaced due to a battery defect. How can I find out what is in that 1000MB of storage? Is this just the data for the standard things that are on the IPAD since I did wipe my IPAD  clean when I returned it.
I would like to erase that 1000MB from my storage usage if it does not have anything personal from a backup done on my old returned IPAD.

Thanks David. I just had the same problem.  I did exactly what you said.  Once I powered my IPAD on, I was able to get to Settings and update iCloud with my new Apple password.

  • ICloud Usage In The Enterprise

Forgive me if I've posted this in the wrong location, but it seemed to be the best suited area...
With the announcement of iCloud, I've been trying to find information on how it will be managed on devices that are used in the enterprise? The company I work for has approximately 200 iPad users and 300 iPhone 4 users that sync their corporate mail, calendar and contacts to their devices.
Each of these users has tethered their device to their own personal iTunes account so they can add music, apps, video, etc to the device as they wish. We secure these devices using a MobileIron appliance along with Apple MDM certificates that allow us to implement security policies on the devices.
If these users choose to sign up for iCloud, does anyone yet know if it will only allow your me.com account to sync to the cloud? The last thing we would want is for these users to have their corporate mail/contacts/calendars synched to the devices and then simultaneously synched up to iCloud.
Anyone have any suggestions on how we might combat this? Or if it will even be possible to sync accounts via iCloud for anything other than me.com accounts? Thanks!

    HI All,
Actually I face the same problem, only mine is using Apple MDM on Lion Server. We plan to deploy 2000 or more iphone 3gs on company cost. Currently in progress and already around 900 devices live using inhouse corporate application.
Our challenge is on security administration things. Wondering if there is somekind like iCloud that we can use in corporate to track the location in case of lost. we are now experiencing already two device lost on duty.
Currently all devices that we already deployed are registered to iCloud using one Apple-ID, no problem on registration process. However when I open iCloud, only limited devices was listed, I think just about 90 devices on the list. Unfortunately the two devices that reported lost are not on the list. So I feel hopeless now.
While MDM can only do Wipe and other things, but can not tracking the location.
Appreciate if someone can give me a clue the alternative to overcome those issue. Thanks.
    Regards
    AA

  • Unable to check my iCloud usage from Mac OS 10.6.8

Rweceived an E-mail today saying, "You are currently using 25.06 MB of storage."
I follow the instructions for checking using IOS device, no problem, it shows I am using 0 of 5 MB.
Trying to check using my laptop running Mac OS 10.6.8
Instead of iCloud, the icon is "mobile me"
It requires me to logon.  Try as I might, the only response I get is the very unhelpful:
              Unknown validation error
Your MobileMe member name of password may be invalid.  Please enter a different name or password..
I have tried all possible combinations but get nowhere.

Thank you.  Neither the E-mail nor the instructions make any mention of this.
I am now left with the question of why the E-mail I received says that I am usint 25.06 MB of storage when my IOS device say that I am usint zero MB.

  • HT4910 iCloud back up is taking too long?

I last backed ups week ago. The it got switched off on its own? After manually trying to backup it took fairly long to estimate the remaining time and then It shows 11 hours remaining and still seems to be not dong anything? Can I get some help?

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
If your back up continually fails, you might try turning off back up on your mobile device (settings > iCloud > storage & backup) and then deleting the backup file from iCloud by swiping the backup file on the mobile device (settings > iCloud > storage & backup > manage…) and then turning back up on again.
If this doesn't help, try turning off some items for back up in a pattern to try to establish if your problem is being caused by specific data on your device.
Being able to back up to the cloud can be very useful, especially if you don't have access to a computer or have infrequent access to one, however unless you specifically need to use iCloud for back up, you will find backing up to iTunes significantly more convenient and possibly more reliable.

  • HT5527 Aug. 1, 2013 - iCloud usage more than the sum of the Apps used

(August 1, 2013) - Hi.  Today, I just bought additional iCloud storage (55 GB total available).
But the amount of iCloud storage used (36.99GB reported back) is much more than the amounts used by:
Backups (17.1 GB), Mail (838.1 MB), Pages 13.7 MB), Numbers (216.5 KB) and Passport (108.6 KB).
The number I was expected should have been around 18 GB used.
Why is the iCloud STORAGE USED 36.99 GB basically showing double the expected number__?
Any ideas what is going on__?  Thank you kindly.
PS... I am running the latest version of Mountain Lion on an older Intel MacBook Pro.
We have two iPhone 4S and an iPad that could use iCloud services.

    Hi Csound1.... Thanks for helping...
I am seeing a green progress bar that says above it....
"iCloud Storage: 36.99 GB of 55 GB available"
I agree with the 55 GB (5 GB complimentary + 50 GB just purchased)
The 36.99 GB and length of the green bar (a bit over 1/3 green.... 2/3 blank) puzzles me.

  • HT4847 Showing more iCloud  usage than phone

I have two products attached to my iCloud account. My iPhone 4S and my iPad 3. On my iPhone 4S (32GB) it shows 8.9GB used and 19.3GB free. But on iCloud it is showing that my iPhone is using 17.5GB of my iCloud storage. How is this possible???

25MB to 132MB isn't that much... that being said if you are connecting to WiFi make sure you turn cellular data off in the settings. You can be connected to WiFi, but devices may disconnect and attach to the cellular network.

  • Shared photostream icloud usage

    Hi guys (or girls ;-)),
I love the shared photostream, now I can create an album and put some photo's in it and it automatically shows those albums on all my devices without the need to sync them through itunes. Besides that, I can also easily share them with anyone I like. Finally this gets close to the old Mobile Me gallery.
However. I am wondering what the shared photostream does do to my icloud storage? Does each photo take up space or is it free just like the 'normal' photostream? And if it does not take up space does it them mean that all photos together can still be no more then 1000 and will it then remove those photos from my albums when I exceed this amount?
I wasn't able to find any information about this?
    Kind Regards,
    Nico...

This is not true, photos in a SHARED photostream will not be deleted. Per apple:
"Photos in shared photo streams are not deleted after thirty (30) days, but the size of any given photo stream may be subject to photo or recipient number, and/or size limitations. Downloaded photos can be manually saved to the iOS Camera Roll."

  • IPhone3GS and icloud usage

I've just uploaded the iOS 5 and iTunes gave me 2 error reports. Then, I dealed with this problem and upgraded to iOS5.
Now, i would like to know if i am able to use iCloud with iPhone 3GS or what I can do for using it?
    Thank you.

No.  You would have to create an iCloud account during the original device setup, or if it's already set up, by going to Settings>iCloud and signing in with your Apple ID.  Also, access to iCloud over wifi doesn't use your cellular data plan.  If you have a wifi+cellular model, you will also have to subscribe to a cellular data plan on it prior to using cellular.  Finally, even if you have an active cellular plan, it will default to wifi it that is available.  You can also turn off cellular data in Settings>Cellular Data to restrict data to wifi only.

  • ICloud usage by family

My whole family is on one acct. everyone has two-three devices. How can I separate them all and they still keep their games and stuff?

One person can keep the existing account, and you can migrate everyong else's devices to separate accounts.  Assuming they want to keep a copy of the iCloud data and move it to thier new account, you would start by saving any photo stream photos that they wish to keep to thier camera roll (unless already there) by opening your my photo stream album, tapping Select, tapping the photos, tap the share icon (box with upward facing arrow), then tapping Save to Camera Roll.  If they are syncing notes with iCloud that they wish to keep, you'll need to open each of your notes and email them to them so they can later copy and paste the text into new notes created in thier new account.  Then go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account (which only deletes it from this device, not from iCloud; the person keeping the account won't be effected by this), choose Keep on My iDevice and provide the password when prompted (if using iOS 7).  Then sign back in with a different Apple ID to create the new account and choose Merge to upload the data.  This would only have to be done on one device for each person.  They would then just delete the exising accont on their other devices, choose Delete from My iDevice (since the data is already in the new account), then sign into the new account.
Once everyone is on separate accounts, you can each go to icloud.com and delete any unwanted data from your account without effecting anyone else's devices.

  • ICloud usage

Both my iPhone and iPad have been upgraded to iOS 5.01 but have not used iCloud at all.  Is this service restricted to US users only?  Where I can find the setup and operation procedure?  I don't see how this service is so intuitive that every user knows how to operate without anyd guidance.  Thanks!
