Once I've backed up iPhone 4 to the cloud, how do I retrieve it to iPhone 5?
Welcome to the Apple Community.
Navigate to Settings > General > Reset > Erase all contents and settings on the device you want to restore.
When this completes and the Set-Up Assistant starts, choose "Restore from iCloud Backup" and enter your iCloud account and password. You will see the three most recent backups for each of the devices on which you enabled Backup. Choose which backup to restore from.

I am sorry, but yes, it's very unlikely you'll ever get them back. iPhone's don't swim well.
You can get an out of warranty replacement for much less than the cost of the phone when new. Make sure you back it up regularly and you sync with iTunes on your computer to transfer purchases (music, ringtones, apps, etc.) to your iTunes Library. -
We have three Apple devices 2 IPhone 4's and one Ipad2. Only the Ipad2 is running the latest OS. They are all have the same name and are on the same apple ID. We would like to back up our Notes to the cloud. If we each create our own Apple email address (we don't have one yet) will they create two separate Notes flies on the Cloud or merge them?

Separate Apple ID's will result in separate notes. However when you first start with separate ID's unless one of you erases the notes you have, you will both start off with the same set of notes, but from then onwards each set won't sync with each other. -
hi i have the same apple id for my iPad and my mac. my iPhone has a different one. My i cloud on my mac seems to be the iCloud on my iPad, if that makes sense so its not sending my photos from my mac to the cloud. how do i change it to upload mac pictures instead? thanks
Did you go into Settings > Store and then tap your old ID, sign out and then enter your new ID?

Oh nice, there's a PassKeeper application for the iPhone and iPad. Simply install it and it should talk you through steps, otherwise their website is probably a great place to check.

I really like the application 1Password, and it works across all the products, Mac, PC, iPad, iPhone. -
I backed up my ipad to the cloud as it had a broken screen so I swaped it out for a new one and now I cant restore because the new Ipad has IOS 6 and my back up is 6.1! This is what I get for buying an Ipad twice in a week because of a broken screen? $500 the first buy and then another $299 plus tax for the swaped out one that I can't restore with my backup data.
I assume that you will have to set up as new since it will not let you restore from the backup. Then after you set it up, you can restore from the iCloud backup. The backup should not disappear be use you are setting this device up as new. Your backup should still be in iCloud.
However, after you activate the iPd and update the software, you will have to erase the device in order to restore from the Cloud backup, that is the only way to get to the iCloud backup.

Update your device to the latest version of iOS to be able to restore the backup. -
My phone went into recovery mode and had to be factory restored, I hadnt backed it up to either the cloud or a computer in a long time and therefore I have lost all of my messages. Is there anyway to get the messages without a recent backup?

How to back up from TC to the cloud?
Hello
I want to use my TimeCapsule (also) as an attached storage (mainly to store all my GB pictures)
I also want to back up the files that reside only on TC on the cloud… (For a number of reasons I am not interested in having another local attached storage, I really want the cloud)
I was hoping I could use DropBox but it doesn't seem to work for sync from an attached storage.
Any advice on either how to use DropBox to do this or on what are the best services for backing up from TC to the cloud would be really appreciated!
Thanks!!
Barbara
PS: Not sure if it's relevant, but I would like to do this from my MacBookAirI cannot answer the part about which service will work, but I can tell you this will not work direct from TC to the internet. The TC is tooo stupidly dumb to do anything.
You should be able to copy pictures from the Air or from TC as source.. to a dropbox on the cloud as destination.. but if you are trying to copy the iphoto library it won't work.. you need the pictures in their raw format not as iphoto clumps them into one massive fle. -
If I have a large amount of music/movie content in the cloud, how do I get it onto my iPad/iPhone so I can hear/see it when I dont have access to WiFi?
If you go into the Purchased tab in the iTunes store apps on your iPad and iPhone then you might be able to redownload them from there - they should then be accessible in the Music / Videos app without you needing to be be online.

Hi my issue is that I dropped my ipad, and the screen is now blue. I have tried pressing the power button and the center button (I even pit it on the charger), but the screen is still blue. My questions are am i covered to get a replacement, and how do I back-up my stuff with the cloud if the ipad is my only apple device?
If you didn't have iCloud backup turned on before you broke it, you are out of luck.
Accidental damage is not covered by warranty.
You can get an out of warranty replacement from Apple for around $250. -
I'm going from an IPAD1 to an IPAD4. If I back up my IPAD to the cloud and then download to the new IPAD, will it retain game data so I won't have to start my games over?

Yes, however you would be much better backing it up to iTunes to do this rather than iCloud. -
Is there any way to get back a deleted Note through the Cloud?
Is there any way to get back a deleted Note through the Cloud? had important info saved as a Note and deleted it by accident. Please help.
No, you have to have turned it on. For example, in itunes, the first tab for your device, you can specifiy to back up to icloud instead of itunes.

As a non-tech person, I don't know what I'm supposed to do when my IPhone 4S says I should back it up to the Cloud. I've plugged it into my MacBook Pro, but that doesn't seem to do the trick. What should I be doing? Thanks!
iOS: Backing Up and Restoring Data to a New Device
iCloud Guide -
I have multiple aple devices ( Ipad2, Ipad3, Iphone 4, Iphone 4s, Mac Mini, and Apple TV) I am using the same apple login to sync to the cloud. My question is do I need to sync ALL of them to the cloud or just one of the devices since I have them set up to sync anyway, or do i just need to buy more cloud space. Thanks
Welcome to the Apple Community.
You should sync all of them, if you want them all to share the same information.
Syncing is not the same as backing up. I suggest you continue to back up your mobile devices to your computer, unless you have a good reason to do otherwise. -
my iphone 5 stopped working and could not be charged Apple has rep[lasced it with a new iphone 5 and i have to use a different computer to access my backup in itunes . Is that a problem?
thanksThe title of your post says "iTunes in the cloud" -- there are actually 2 different types of backup. One is to iCloud and one iTunes. If you did the backup via iTunes then the backup data is stored on that computer and you will need that computer to do the restore. If the backup was done to iCloud you don't need a computer. Following is more information: Back up and restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch using iCloud or iTunes - Apple Support

Why is the iPhone so BAD at connecting back to mobile networks?
Reading various threads it would seem that Apple gave up sometime ago making a device that actually works well at mobile connectivity. Their antennae technology must be as out of date as their map data or as poorly tested. Quite often I come out of t
