HT4910 what about text messages?

I see almost everything but text messages. Can the iCloud not sync text messages like it does with mail on my computer?

No, that's not a feature of DND.

If I'm in Mexico and skyping with someone in the US, will it go against my data plan? What about text messaging?

Unless you are connected to an available wi-fi network when Skyping, when doing so via a carrier's cellular network goes against your data plan. The same when using any app that requires internet access.
SMS is exchanged over the same network as calls, so no data usage with SMS.
MMS is exchanged over the carrier's cellular data or internet network so MMS goes against your data plan.
The same when exchanging iMessages unless your are connected to an available wi-fi network when doing so.

  • Question About Text Message With LG Env3 phone

I'm getting an arrow and it's sending a text from one Verizon phone to another.  What does this mean?
<Branched to a new discussion for more exposure.>
Message was edited by: Verizon Moderator

Here's my understanding and experience with two Verizon Env3's and other LG phones - the green check means the message was successfully sent to another Verizon (mobile) phone number.  The green arrow means the message was successfully sent, but the number is outside the Verizon network.  If sending to an iPhone or Android, even if the phone is Verizon, the recipient may be using a texting app rather than regular text messaging.  In that case you'd get the green arrow instead of the green check mark.

  • Is there any way to determine what device text messages are sent from? Do free text messaging apps relate to the apple ID, or the iPod?

My son had a friend give him his apple ID username and password, and downloaded a texting app. Now, some text messages were sent, and they are both denying it.  Is there any way to know if the text messages came from my son's iPod? The app and texts are deleted, so I can't look at a history to see who typed them.

  • Questions about TEXT MESSAGES on Pearl

I really appreciate any advice, thak you!!!
Ive noticed that my inbox does not save all my text messages (have had the phone for less than a week, I don't think my inbox is full. Does the phone let you know when it is?). For ex, today the 25th, it shows only some of my received txts. Yesterday I only received a few and it shows all of them. How do I automatically hav ALL txts (RECEIVED AND SENT) saved to the phone AND my SIM card? Do I just have to go individually and save the ones I want saved to my phone?
Also, how do I keep new email messages from showing up uder text messages? If I get a new txt, I want it to show up under my txts. If I get a new email, I want it to show up under that folder...right now when i get a new email my txt message icon will pop up
and one more ?. How do I save all my phone numbers to my SIM?
    thanks again!!!

Try clearing the device SMS database. To clear the SMS completely check following steps:
Connect the BlackBerry smartphone to the computer.
    Open BlackBerry Desktop Manager.
Double-click Backup and Restore, then click Advanced.
From the list of Device Databases, select the appropriate database.  For your problem, select SMS.
    Click Clear.
In the Warning window, click OK.
If it fails then you might to consider reinstalling device OS.

  • What Are My Data Options for Droid 2? What About Texts?

I'm looking over the available plans and I'm really confused.
I've had the same plan pretty much for the past 15 months but I started with a Blackberry. Now I have a Droid 2 and I REALLY need to find a way to shave off some money from this bill.
My bill is always $118 and change with never goes above $119.
I have 900 minutes, was gonna take it down to 450 but viewing my usage I have been around 431-445 the past 3 months. I also have $10 for texts which I hate, I thought there was a $5 text plan?
Insurance, yes, have to because I can't afford a landline and don't have a house to put it in anyway.
I tried to get out of my contract with Verizon when I first became really sick. They were having none of that. I have been sick since September 2010 (symptoms 3 years) and the doctors have been running tests to find out what's causing the problem.
The tricky part is I cannot work anymore, used up everything I had in savings, and even sold my car to have money to pay for medical bills. Now I'm stuck trying to get state health insurance and am without a place to live.
I don't have income from any source but a lot of debt.
I wish Verizon would work with me as even when I can't buy food, I make sure bills are paid because I need that phone on so I doctors can reach me.
I'm not sure how long I'll be unable to work and when I can not sure how long it will take to find work.
I asked them if they could take the Droid 2 back and let me have a regular phone with no data and they said "no, you'll have to pay full retail price for the phone". I believe that was over $500 (no mention of the $179.99 I paid for the broken Tours)
Now here is the back story which really **bleep** me off that they could have screwed me twice:
The only reason I have the Droid 2 is because when I upgraded after my 1st year with Verizon, I got a Blackberry Tour. That phone had so many problems I had to keep taking it in every month for a replacement. Verizon refused to exchange for a different Blackberry.
I even called RIM and they said they had "design" issues with the Tour and it's being taken off the market with the phone carriers, they said Verizon should be allowing you to get a replacement phone of same or lower cost (another Blackberry).
Well that never happened and I had to file an FCC complaint before corporate finally called to help me. I even told them the "NEW" Tour I paid for when I signed a new contract was refurbished because when I tried to send the info in for the rebate, I got an letter stating that particular phone already received it's rebate.
I should have stopped it right there, given them their used phone back and walked away but I'm thinking they are working with me and gave me the rebate ASAP, it will be OK.
WRONG!! 6 months into the contract with the **bleep**ty Tour not working and 6 replacements, they agree to give me another phone for $50. I said drop dead, no more money from me for your issue.
Then they said OK we'll give you a phone of the same value at no charge. So not knowing how the Bold was gonna work yet, I went with a Droid 2 as the Droid 1 had been out awhile and bugs worked out.
Now here is the real kicker in the whole story. After they mailed me the new Droid, I was online paying my bill and noticed Verizon re-set my contract start date from January 2010 to August 2010.
No one told me that and I couldn't get anyone to help fix that mess, they said you got a new phone, what else do you want?
What do you think happened about 2 months after I get the Droid 2??  Yes, Verizon changed the policy and replaced the Tours with the Blackberry Bold for no charge and no contract extension.
Had they told me that, I would have used my old Blackberry for 2 months and gotten the Bold and be closer to getting out of this stupid contract.
I don't know, they make it so hard for honest people who have hit hard times and dealt with bad phone after bad phone to just get a fair break.
I asked so what happens if I just want out of the contract and they said it would cost like $350. If I had $350 I wouldn't be typing this. I suppose I can fake my own death and get out of the contract that way. They make no concession for persons who become disabled and can no longer work. I don't know how long I'll be "disabled" or if I ever won't be "disabled" but I like to think things will get better.
Any ideads would be great. I did talk with someone at UCAN, they help people in CA get out of cell contracts when they have extrordinary circumstances and they gave me a number for a lady at Verizon.
I called that women for 4 months every single day, 4 times a day. She never answered her phone or called me back, ever!
So guess I work on becoming dead since that's my only option. I will never, ever, ever sign a cell contract as long as live, if I live.
I don't mean to sound like such a bitchy customer, I really feel I was screwed from the start of this contract and the screws keep coming!

Not sure why you posted this in the iPhone forum but sorry you're having such a difficult time. With that being said, unfortunately, VZW isn't obligated to assist you in difficult financial times although it would be great if they did. As far as you wanting to get into a non-smart phone to lessen your bill...you will have to look into alternative ways to obtain one if you want to avoid paying full retail. Do you have any friends with Verizon? Check and see if any of them have an old phone that they don't use. Lower your plan to less minutes and actively monitor your usage. Save non-essential personal calls until after 9:00 pm on weekdays if you're calling non-verizon customers. Even without a house phone it is not difficult to get by on a 450 min plan without going over your minutes. My mother did it for 5 years and never once went over her minutes nor did she have a landline phone to use. Text when possible to avoid using minutes. If you stay with the Droid then try to find texting apps or widgets that can help eliminate the need for a text plan. You can also check into services like Skype that can allow you to make free calls to other users...some of your friends may gladly subscribe to those services so that you can communicate and use less plan minutes. You should also talk to VZW to see what lower plan options you have.

  • TS4002 iCloud was off for two hours, what about the messages sent in that particular time window?

my account was off for two hours due to overloaded mailbox, is it possible that some messages were sent to me at that time and therefore I won't receive those messages sent to my account during those two hours? Thanks...

Messages sent to you while your mailbox is full would've been bounced back to the sender.

  • What about THIS message?

People keep mentioning error codes. I get this:
*We could not complete your iTunes Store request.*
    *The network connection was reset.*
*Make sure your network connection is active and try again.*
My iPhone is activated with 2.0 software, but I cannot restore my data.
I get no option to do anything other than eject. (I've tried unplugging/replugging about 20 times)
    Any ideas?

Activation servers are down (tons of threads and news reports now about it).
    Just wait till later.
Leave phone plugged in, no need to unplug/replug
When you want to try, just click on Music or Movies or something then click back on the iPhone.

  • Archiving mail...what about sent messages?

When I archive my mailbox in Apple mail, will it also include the sent items or do I need to archive those separately?

you'll have to archive them separately. when you archive a mailbox only what's directly in this mailbox is archived.

  • I have found several text messages on my phone that have 000,003,088 as area codes for the numbers,ex(000-000-6255)or 088-590-7490? Does anyone know what these are. I heard they are text messages sent through email. I also heard they are messages from dat

Trying to figure out what these text messages are.

Just to recap, this is a collection of ports I have collected over time for people who needed this information when setting up the HP ePrint app so that they could view their email from within the app.  I am certain other applications also need this information.  Although lengthy, I could not find a more comprehensive place to retrieve this information.  Feel free to post additional information, faulty information, or other related topics below as this is simply a collection of data and it would be practically impossible to test all of them. Thank you!

  • I am unable to send text messages in Message. I can receive messages but not send. I am able to do both with my iPhone. Why can't I send?

Why can't I send text messages on my iPad? I can send and receive messages on my iPhone.

    Hi Kathy,
Happy Holidays!  Do you have an iPad with cellular service and a text-messaging plan?
Send messages with your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support
    http://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201287
What's the difference between SMS/MMS and iMessage?
SMS/MMS lets you send text messages and photos to other cellular phones or devices. iMessage lets you send text messages and photos to another iOS device over Wi-Fi, without worrying about text-messaging charges (cellular data charges may apply).
What do I need to use SMS/MMS and iMessage?
Here's what you need to use SMS/MMS and iMessage:
SMS/MMS: A text-messaging plan. Contact your carrier for more information.
iMessage: An iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch with iOS 5 or later.
How do I know if my message used SMS/MMS or iMessage?
You can tell which type of message you're sending by the color of the Send button and text bubble.
SMS/MMS: Send button and text bubbles are green.
iMessage: Send button and text bubbles are blue.
How can I link my iPhone number with Messages on my iPad, iPod touch, or Messages for Mac?
When you sign in to Messages with your Apple ID on your iPhone, you link your phone number to your Apple ID. If you then sign in to Messages with the same Apple ID on your iPad, iPod touch, or Mac, Messages will link that device to your phone number as well.
I hope this information helps ....

  • Two Months and Text Messaging still not working!

Why oh Why doest though treat me this way...... I have called 6 times about this issue. One night I was sitting on my couch play a game on my cell phone device.... I have the connect app on this phone. a message popped up that my text messages had been deleted..... so I cleared off the notification and didn't pay it any mind. the next day, I got on my computer and logged in to send a text message to someone... and ALL of my text converstations were gone..... the text I sent gave me an error message.... DELIVERY ERROR with a resend link...... of course it wasn't resending..... so I got on the phone..... the first THREE reps on three different calls.... stated they were escalating it... and I should receive a call back... NO CALL has taken place.... I called again, and again, days later..... my last call was a few days ago on Thursday..... the guy I could barely understand..... kept placing me on hold and giving the impression he was working to resolve.... then I hear someone talking in the background after being on the phone for an hour to no avail and telling me about deleting and downloading text messaging (which I dont know nothing about nor ever seen) he says something and then the phone goes silent...... then fast tone..... they guy HUNG UP on me... no CALL back.... and today my text messaging feature still doesn't work.... My question is.... do ANY of the employees in tech support know what the text messaging feature is.... how it works, how it is accessed, and how to fix it when it isn't working.... WHY are they telling me about deleting this feature ON MY OWN... when this is something built into the voice service on the site and on the connect app..... it doesn't work on either of them.... Can someone FIX IT please....? I am tired of calling for unknown support

Mine doesn't work either, so you are not alone. I upgraded to X1 a few weeks ago and "activated" the text messaging service the other night. I'm still not able to send or receive messages from any location, be it the app, website, or various other methods. It seems Comcast just loves offering faulty products. (This is probably the 4th or 5th time in a row their service has failed to correctly work for me since I decided to upgrade, thinking it would resolve a previous issue they caused...)

  • How do I forward text messages to my email?

How do I forward text messages to my email? I watch my email inputs. It would be convenient to have announcements of text messages arrive via email. Oherwise I have to login to comcast every time I want to find out about text messages. Being of the text-message-illiterate generation, I get very few text messages. So checking for them is mostly futile. If they were forwarded to my email, I would not have to look in two different places.

After considerable poking around I found the right preferences page. I have forwarded ny text messages to my email !

  • When text messages were sent

I shut my phone off at night and in the morning I find I have text messages. How do I find out what time text messages were sent after phone has been off?

Unless your carrier provides that information on your bill, you can't. You could always plug your phone in at night and put it on mute. Then you'd see the times as normal.

  • 7925 Text messages

Hello. This is a quick question about text messages to 7925.
In my case is working just fine, we receive the text messages and we can read them, but is there a way to save them and read them again later.
Once we read it seems to be deleted, because we are not able to find the message again.
    Is this working as design?
    Regards

The phone is new and it never displayed text messages in the text app/view.  They only displayed in the main hub.  And the notifications for texts never worked.  It's apparently some issue with the software not recognizing texts correctly.
I called Verizon customer service and they transferred me to Blackberry support.  The solution was to reload the operating system.  I used Blackberry Link to do a full backup of my phone, reload the OS, then restore my settings (it took about 40 min total).  Texts now display correctly and the notifications are working properly.
For anyone who has this problem, connect your phone to your computer and install/open Blackberry Link.  Select "Backup and Restore" from the menu on the left under your Blackberry device and do a full backup of your phone.  To reload the OS, click on "Preferences" in the upper right corner of BB Link.  The Preferences window will open and you can select "Reload the Device Software" from the menu on the left.  Then just follow the instructions.
