HT4913 iTunes match subscription and device association

I have recently purchased an itunes match subscription and I was able to associate it with my new ipad mini, but when I try to turn on itunes match on my iphone 5 and original ipad it won't work.  I get an error message that says that I do not have a subscription to Itunes match.  It references that I need to go to my computer.  When I log on to my itunes account to manage devices, I can see the ipad mini, but not the phone original ipad.  Any thoughts on why I can't get this to work?  The iphone is latest iOS, but original ipad is only at iOS 5.1 (highest I can go with this ipad, but still compatible with itunes match).

Kate,
You may want to try signing out of the existing Apple IDs (as set up on the iPhone and iPad), then signing them back in.

If the two devices are still misbehaving, you might need to turn them off then back on, or reset them as necessary.

If the issue you are experiencing is not resolved, you may find more information by using another one of Apple's support resources - https://expresslane.apple.com/GetproductgroupList.action.

  • Turn off itunes match subscription and cancel the remaining balance on my account to change the country store

Good afternoon. I want to turn off itunes match subscription and cancel the remaining balance on my account to change the country store as I do this?

You will need to contact Apple by call to gain the appropriate support directly.  There can be significant issues in changing country.
First step is always to ensure that you have a secure backup of all of your Songs.

  • One iTunes Match subscription, 3 devices

I subscribed to iTunes Match from my iPad. Now I want to turn on iTunes match from my mac mini, but it's telling me I owe another $24. That can't be right, can it? All of my music is on my Mini, so I now have no music available on the ipad or the iphone 5s. What's up with that? I want them all synched through Match. Thanks, ~Bond

You need to be signed into the iTunes Store on the device with the same Apple ID that was used to purchase iTunes Match. Go to Settings > iTunes and App Stores and tap the Apple ID. Tap sign out, then sign back in and you ought to be able to enable the service on the iOS device.

  • How do i change countries without losing my ITunes Match subscription

I have moved countries and now the content i would like to use is in either one or the other. Iphone apps for my new country are not available in the old etc etc. When i go to change countries in Itunes i am told i will lose my Itunes Match subscription and therefore need to wait until my subscription is finished. 8 months away. is there any other way i can access both Stores in the meantime.?

No, there is not. Not at the same time. Also keep in mind that if you log out of the iTunes Store with iTunes Match associated with it, then log into another country store you will not be able to log back into the original store for 90 days.

  • ITunes Match Subscription- what is this?

Hello, aprarently we have an iTunes Match subscription and need to pay 24.95 Euros soon to renew this. I have no idea what this is for or what it does. If this is to use the iTunes store, then I would be unpleasantly surprised but maybe someone can advise to explain.
(We have a me email account but that is all I am aware of need a subscription... perhaps that has morphed into the iTunes Match thing?)
    Thanks!

Follow the instructions in this Apple KB article to turn off auto-renew: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4914

I want to be able to keep app's, music, movies and my Cloud/Match exactly the same.  How do I do this?
Because of different local copyright laws and licensing you cannot keep everything exactly the same except for iCloud, which is not affected. You will have to create a new Apple ID for use on the UK iTunes Store with a form of payment drawn on a local bank and an address in the UK. As long as you have downloaded all your purchases and the computer is still authorized to play all protected video content that won't change, however Apps may give you trouble when updating because once associated with an Apple ID you can only switch between stores every 90 days.
As for iTunes Match you must contact Australian iTunes Store support to cancel the subscription and you will have to resubscribe on the UK store.

  • I have 2 iphones in the family and want to use itunes match on both devices, but my husband has his own itunes acct, how can he use the main itunes library and get out music on his phone also

I have 2 iphones in the family and want to use itunes match on both devices, unfortunately my husband has his own itunes acct and when i change on his phone to my itunes acct it states that the email is already in use, any help on how to get the itunes match to go onto both devices, thanks

    "Method Three
Create a separate iTunes library for each device. Note:It is important that you make a new iTunes Library file. Do not justmake a copy of your existing iTunes Library file. If iTunes is open, quit it.
This one may work. I searched and searched on the website for something like this, I guess I just didn't search correctly, lol. I will give this a try later. My daughter is not be back for a few weekends, therefore I will have to try the Method 3 when she comes back for the weekend again. "
I forgot to mention that she has a PC at her house that she also syncs to. Would this cause a problem. I am already getting that pop up saying that the iPod is synced to another library (even though she is signed in with her Apple ID to iTunes) and gives the pop up to Cancel, Erase & Sync, or Transfer Purchases. My question arose because she clicked on "Erase & Sync" by mistake when she plugged the iPod to her PC the first time. When the iPod was purchased and setup, it was synced to my PC first. When she went home, she hooked it up to her PC and then she erased it by accident. I was able to restore all the missing stuff yesterday using my PC. However, even after doing that it still told me the next time I hooked it up last night that the iPod was currently synced with a different library. Hopefully, you can help me understand all this. She wants to sync her iPod and also backup her iPod at both places. Both PCs have been authorised. Thanks

  • ITunes Match warning,"This device is already associated with an apple id" .How do I solve?

iTunes Match warning,"This device is already associated with an apple Id. How do I resolve this?

There is no way to overcome this. You can only associate one Apple ID at a time iTunes Store: Associating a device or computer to your Apple ID

  • I have allowed my iTunes Match subscription to expire, because of a limited data plan so can't listen to music outside my house. My music files were removed from my computer and are inaccessible without renewing the subscription. How do I get them back?

    Hi,
I presume you deleted the original files as match would not have done so. Do you have a back up. If so, restore your music from that. If not, your will have lost all your music as this needed to be on your hard drive when you unsubscribed.

    Hi Roger
    Thank you for your reply.
    My original feed is: http://casa-egypt.com/feed/
However, because I modified the feed http://feeds.feedburner.com/imananddinasbroadcast and nothing changed, I redirected it to another feed and then I deleted this feed.
Is there any way to change the feed in itunes? The only feed I have now is  http://feeds.feedburner.com/CasaEgyptStation
I tried to restore the feed http://feeds.feedburner.com/imananddinasbroadcast but feedburner refused.
I know that I missed things up but I still have hope in working things out.
    Thanks is advance.

You need to reset the password for the "old" account, and then use that to turn off iCloud.  Then you will be able to sign in with your new ID.
You can reset your password at iForgot.apple.com.
If you don't know the answers to the security questions, you will need to start there.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5312
-If you established a rescue email address, there will be a link on the "Passwords & Security" page of id.apple.com.  Clicking the link will send the reset to your rescue email address (NOTE:  This is not the same address as your Apple ID email)
-If there is no link on the page, then you didn't establish a rescue email address.  Contact AppleCare at 800.694.7466 (If you are in the US), and ask for account security.  You will need to answer some questions to verify your identity, AND you will need access to a computer to generate a temporary support pin.
-If you are not in the US, click http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5699 - Apple ID: Contacting Apple for help with Apple ID account security

  • HT4913 I have two ipad with different apple ids, is it possible to access to itunes match from both devices

How to associate an ipad to an apple id so bot ipads can access to the itunes match subscription?

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
For both iPads to use the same iTunes Match subscription, they would both need to use the same ID for iTunes.

  • HT4915 Why do I have to pay for iTunes Match subscription to delete songs I've previously purchased from iCloud?

From the support article, it seems that I have to pay for an iTunes Match subscription in order to permanently delete songs from iCloud.  Is there a way to delete songs from iCloud without having iTunes Match?

You don't have to sign up to iTunes Match to play your iTunes music purchases through the iPad's Music app (if you've synced or downloaded them to the app).  iTunes Match allows you to store your own music collection (e.g. copied from CDs, bought from other sites) in the cloud as well as the music that you've purchased from iTunes
    From http://www.apple.com/itunes/itunes-match/ :
With iTunes in the Cloud, the music you buy from the iTunes Store automatically appears on all your devices.1 And for music you haven’t purchased from iTunes, iTunes Match is the perfect solution. iTunes Match is built right into iTunes on your computer and the Music app on your iOS devices.2 It lets you store your entire collection in iCloud, even music you’ve imported from CDs or purchased somewhere other than iTunes. When it’s in iCloud, it’s available on all your devices. So you can enjoy all your music anywhere, anytime — on your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, Mac, PC, or Apple TV.

  • Changing country errors due to itunes match subscription

    Hi guys,
Recently moved from Australia to Singapore, tried to change my iTunes Store countries to download local Apps but keep getting an iTunes Match subscription error.
Already turned off auto-renew and removed all devices for Match.
    Anybody have a solution?
    Thanks,
    Phil

You'll need to contact iTunes Store support directly to actually cancel the iTM subscription. Be sure and ask them about any terms and conditions that might apply.

  • HT4914 Why can I not update my iTunes Match subscription from my iPad? Must I access from a PC?

I have been getting emails syaing my iTunes Match subscription will expire soon and if I do not renew I will not be able to access my music on iCloud. Also, it says I cannot update my account from an iOS device. But I no longer have iTunes installed on a PC - I only access from an iPad or iPhone. What can I do?

I always get an error message "Cannot update iOS software" or something to that effect everytime I try. I've tried plugging my iPad to my laptop computer and then my computer directly to internet connection (we have a router that allows WiFi access, so I thought I'd try to bypass the router instead), but this did not work.  I've tried restoring my iPad via connected to my computer through iTunes, that worked for a short time and was able to update the apps I wanted, but soon after one of the apps stopped working properly, and then the apps I wanted to get from the App Store just wouldn't install or load...Instead they would be having "Waiting..." for the longest time until I give up and delete them. I've tried restarting my iPad, no luck either.  I've also gone through the Reset process of "Erase All Content and Settings" i.e., Restore, and like mentioned above, it worked for a little while then it went back to square one, as I mentioned a sentence or two previously.
I've no idea what is going on, why it's not working, or anything.  I just wonder if it's got anything to do with a slow internet connection (we don't have high-speed internet access), or something else I haven't found that may be just under my nose.
I would love some help and input into my situation, all and any ways which allow me to keep my current iPad (which is the New Generation one), not having to trash it and replace it with a new one.
Have you tried to restore as a new device? Maybe a glitch exists on the restored backup, try this:
