I (though am not sure what happened) solved the problem. Under show all I had both videos and music selected as on. I turned off videos and ..hey presto..the slider reappeared.

You cannot use the U.S itunes store from outside the U.S.
This is true of each countries itunes stores.

Safari and app store on the iPad crashes with new iOS 5 and 5.0.1 update

When clicking on the app store and while loading a crash occurs taking me to the home screen ( sometimes) this also occurse with safari to running iOS 5.0.1 used to happen with the previouse ios5 version also.

For Safari you could try clearing its cache via Settings > Safari > Clear Cookies And Data (and Clear History).
After that try closing all apps completely and then do a reset and see if that helps. To close all apps : from the home screen (i.e.not with any app 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of each app to close them, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
To reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

I cannot connect to apps such as Pandora and App store. The internet does work though.

If it says the user id and passcode is not correct then it isn't, even if you think it is. Or someone has hacked your ID and changed your password.

The Photos tab doesn't appear there. If you are on iTunes 11 on your computer then you may want to re-enable the left-hand sidebar via View > Show Sidebar (option-command-S on a Mac, control-S on a PC), which might make it easier to navigate and my instructions may make more sense.
To sync photos, connect and select your iPad on the left-hand side of your computer's iTunes (if you've enabled the sidebar), and on the right-hand side there should be a series of tabs, one of which should be Photos e.g. :
If you select that tab you can then select which photo folders to sync to the iPad. There is a bit more info on this page. You will need to sync all the photos that you want on the iPad together in one go as only the most recent photo sync remains on the iPad - synced photos can't be deleted directly on the iPad, instead they are deleted by not including them in the next photo sync.
If you haven't enabled the sidebar, then from your library click 'iPad' at the top right of the screen and you should get a series of buttons along the top of the screen, including one for Photos

Does the wrong Apple ID show up with a particular App or all Apps?
Apps are linked to the ID they were purchased with, so if you have Apps purchased with different IDs you may need to logout with one then log in with another to update the second one.
We've also seen were "free" Apps are downloaded from the Internet, but they are not really free but instead were just hacked by a different user so need to be updated with that account. That can prevent updates. If so, it's best to delete the bogus app and get a good copy from the App Store.

When I go to settings/iTunes App Store my Apple ID is not there. When I enter my ID and password it does not save or link to account. I do not have this problem with iPad ID is stored and can be used in App Store and iTunes. I have just upgraded to 5c and it's still a problem.

When fist setting up your new iphone you will be asked to log in with an apple id and password. If this did not happen you can then do as you suggested going to settings to itunes and app store and add your apple id login. This apple id login must have already been created for the iphone to accept it. If this apple id is already created but is not being accepted by your iphone you then should shut down your iphone and restart the device.

The ID for iTunes must be the same on both devices for it to automatically download purchases made on the other phone.
For example, if you have been using [email protected] for iTunes, continue to do so. One of you could also use [email protected] for their iCloud account and the other one use [email protected] for theirs, alternatively you could use [email protected] and [email protected] for the two separate iCloud accounts.

I had this same issue and got it resolved very simply when I contacted Apple SUpport
Go to https://appleid.apple.com/cgi-bin/WebObjects/MyAppleId.woa/ and sign into your infomation
> Go to Manage apple id and primary email address
> Change it to the old apple id that your device is asking for
> Save changes
> Go to Settings > iCloud and sign out of the infomation

> Change it back to the correct apple id
> Go to the email address adn reverify the apple id

I have also tried the fixes offered in this forum such as using the "Other" mail in setting up the gmail accounts, and not using the dedicated gmail setting. I also went to google and signed in and enable the additional devices. I had the same problems with the original account I set up for gmail, but it corrected when i went to using the "Other" instead of the Gmail button. I was able to set up the new gmail accounts on my iphone without problem and on my husband's ipad1 for his gmail account. Just the ipad 2 is giving me problems. Again, thanks for any suggestions.

If you have more than one user account, these instructions must be carried out as an administrator.
