HT4914 does anybody know if Itunes match rename my songs with the right name?

I want to know if Itunes match will rename my songs files with the right name after sync. and if Itunes match will put the right cover to my songs too.

Reboot your computer
Disable your firewall and antivirus
Connect the cable to a USB port directly on the computer, not to a hub, but do not connect to the phone yet
Launch iTunes
Hold HOME and SLEEP buttons on the phone until the screen turns black, then release SLEEP but continue holding HOME
Connect the cable while holding HOME and wait for iTunes to recognize a phone in Recovery mode
Release the button and the phone should restore.

1. Open iTunes on a computer
2. From the Store menu, select "View my Account..."

5. Authorize each computer you still have, as you may require.
You may only do this once per year.
After you "de-authorize all" your authorized computers, re-authorize each one as required.
If you have de-authorized all computers and need to do it again, but your year has not elapsed, then contact: Apple - Support - iTunes - Contact Us.

There is no way to know such a thing unless Apple announces. Whenever Apple and the TV industry/distributors in New Zealand are able to reach an agreement for the rights to sell content, then they will be able to do this.

Why can't iTunes down load two songs with the same name but different artists to my iPhone?

I noticed this a couple of years ago but had forgotten about it. Today I purchased two songs, both called Bop Gun (One Nation) but by different artists. When I looked at the purchased list on one appears. If I go back to iTunes and download the other one, the former disappears. Are they honestly saying that these phones are intelligent enough to distinguish a song by artist rather than track listing?

Usually a song is uniquely identified by song name, artist, album and track number. That said internally I suspect the iTunes Store may allow one song to appear on more than one album while they only need to store one copy of the audio data. (They must also be able to cope with the situation, for example, where the UK & US version of an album have a different track order). It is also possible there is an error in the database that means you're not getting the song you're expecting. If you can't successfully download the two (presumably) different versions of the song then use the report a problem links in your account history and explain the issue. Hopefully the iTunes Store support staff can get it resolved.

Can iTunes sync multiple songs with the same name?

My iTunes library has multiple songs with the same name (but they point to different files on the filesystem).
Curiously when iTunes syncs to my iPhone it will only ever sync two of the files, even if more exists. I suspect what is happening is described below, but I have no way of verifying it:
Let's assume I have 5 songs named IdenticalName, on the filesystem these are named IdenticalName.mp3, IdenticalName 1.mp3, IdenticalName 2.mp3, and so on.
I suspect iTunes is syncing the filename without a number postfix, and the file with the "1" postfix and not continuing with the rest of the files.
Has anyone seen similar behaviour? Did you find a workaround (other than renaming your tracks)?

Then just make sure the name that appears in Grid Control is different.
e.g. prod.world is on server A and B. When you discover in Grid control, you can make it prod_B and you will see the latter without any problem.

This problem does seem pretty random, affecting just a small number of tracks. Apparently it is due to some file corruption or something... Anyway, this thread https://discussions.apple.com/thread/2654317?start=15&tstart=0 has a couple of solutions spelled out. Basically the same thing that a-monk-at-large suggested above. (Delete and redownload the offending tracks.)

Does anybody know of a calendaring product that works on the Mac? Apple seem determined to remain blind to the fact that iCal is getting worse.

Over the last few months, iCal is just getting worse. The forced "upgrade" no longer supports multiple e-mail addresses, one can no longer confirm appointments into iCal, it will now not read outlook appointments sent via e-mail....its so bad that the support folks last time reminded me to read the terms and conditions of service.....that was a new low point.
Does anybody know of a product that a non technical person can rely on like PC users rely on Outlook?

I guess from your "forced upgrade" comment you actually mean MobileMe Calendar. If that is the case and you'd like Apple to know about this I suggest you send them feedback.
The correct forum for discussion of MobileMe is MobileMe on my Mac.
I use iCal regularly with few issues. I do not use MobileMe Calendar.

How can I disassociate my songs in the iTunes store from another musician with the same name?

My songs in the iTunes store are showing up with the artist John Powers. That is my name. There seems to be another musician called John Powers, and our songs seem to be grouped together. I feel bad for the guy, as he seems quite clean-cut and my songs are all a bit... edgy. Is there any way to clarify that there is another artist also called John Powers, or will my songs forever be linked to his through our common name?

Once you put your ITunes into an external hard drive, will ITunes Match still work? MIne isn't loading. What a drag!

iTunes Match really has nothing to do with where the iTunes library is stored on your computer. It simply keeps a copy of those songs it can recognize in the cloud for you.

I the cloud and itunes match. Some songs have the "waiting" icon next to them but are unable to upload and instead of determing them ineligible itunes continues to try to upload that song and never gets to the rest of the list.

I have icloud and itunes match and most of my songs have been uploaded to the cloud. Some songs still have the "waiting" icon next to them and when I turn itunes match on they neither upload nor are they determined ineligible. My computer will literally spin its wheels for hours trying to upload the same song. Additionally, I uploaded an audiobook disc on my computer and 3 of the 11 tracks are still waiting to be uploaded???

The exclamation mark happens if the file is no longer where iTunes expects to find it. Possible causes are that you or some third party tool has moved, renamed or deleted the file, or that the drive it lives on has had a change of drive letter. It is also possible that iTunes has changed from expecting the files to be in the pre-iTunes 9 layout to post-iTunes 9 layout,or vice-versa, and so is looking in slightly the wrong place.
Select a track with an exclamation mark, use Ctrl-I to get info, then cancel when asked to try to locate the track. Look on the summary tab for the location that iTunes thinks the file should be. Now take a look around your hard drive(s). Hopefully you can locate the track in question. If a section of your library has simply been moved, or a drive letter has changed, it should be possible to reverse the actions.
Alternatively, as long as you can find a location holding the missing files, then you should be able to use my FindTracks script to reconnect them to iTunes .
If the missing files just can't be found then, assuming you are in region where you are permitted multiple downloads of your audio purchases, delete the current enties and download again from your purchased history.

I want to use iTunes Match but my question is.. if I have imported CD's (i'm from México), that they aren't available in the iTunes Store of my country, iTunes find the matches with other iTunes Stores (of the other countries) or it only work with the songs available on my iTunes Store (México)

I have achieved matches for tracks/albums that are not available in the UK store. If the track is on Apples server, there is a chance that you will get a match even though not available in local iTunes store.

Try re-creating your iTunes Library, then sync the iPod again.

ITunes match replacing studio songs with live songs

ok - so I noticed one day that many of the studio versions of my songs had been replaced and/or combined with live songs from other albums by a given artist. Luckily, I had a backup. So I restored a bunch of songs, imported them into my iTunes library and then ran iTunes match again. What it did was reduce my song count by about 300 songs and once again certain studio versions of songs are replaced with live versions, and some songs have disappeared entirely.
Is this how Match is supposed to work? Has anyone else run into similar problems?

Yes, iTunes Match can be made to work with more than one Apple Id. One route is simply to import Songs into a new library using the separate libraries for each Apple Id as source. Attempting to play Songs will prompt for authorisation if not already present on the computer. Once authorisation is complete for each Apple Id concerned the new library can be used with iTunes Match to cover all Songs.
Hope this is helpful - ensuring you have secure backups of all source libraries prior to this action is recommended. Also worth backing up resulting new library both before and after iTunes Match attempt to support restoration of any files as needed at a later date.

TS1510 My iTunes song library is not synching with my iPod Shuffle.I go to the devices tab, and the snych link is gray and not highlighted. Does anybody know how I can transfer these songs onto my shuffle ?

I got a little Ipod shuffle as a stocking stuffer. I spent lots of money downloading songs to my library. My shuffle was plugged into my computer, and I thought my songs were being synched onto the shuffle. They were not. I returned to my iTunes account and went to devices, and the sync tab is not highlighted. It's gray. How can I download the songs in my library to my shuffle ?

Thanks for that information my friend. I KNOW THAT -- but that was one of only three options they require us to submit, and none match our/my issue under community help forum. I believe they should broaden that spectrum. You seem like someone who is very well-versed in Apple products, it would have been nice of you to offer some sort of help, instead of telling me, and others, that this is an iPhone forum.
