HT4914 Does iTunes Match sync audiobooks?

I have many audiobooks in my iTunes library, and was wondering how iTunes Match handles them, if at all.

iTunes Match does not apply to audiobooks. Music only.
Regards.

  • HT5637 How does itunes match sync playlists?

How does itunes match sync playlists between my computer, ipad and ipod?

It will tell you that the library exceeds the limit and will not proceed. So if you have more than the 25k limit (and keep in mind that iTunes Store purchases do not count against this limit) the only way you can use iTM is to move some music out of the library to get under the limit before signing up for the service.

  • HT4914 Does ITunes Match effect the space used on your ICloud?

Does ITunes Match effect the space used on your ICloud? Being as though your songs are not actually being uploaded and your just  pulling content off of I tunes .

    Hello Karen,
Yes, enabling iTunes Match the current music library on the phone will be deleted.
From: iTunes: How to add a computer or iOS device to iTunes Match
              http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4913
When enabling iTunes Match on your iOS device, the music library on your iOS device will be deleted and then replaced with your music in iCloud.
The music is stored on the cloud and streamed to your device unless you choose to download it on the phone.
Here is some additional info on how it works:

    All the very best,

  • HT4914 Does  itunes match store video ??

Does itunes match allow you to store video and games downloaded from App Store in icloud ??

Sorry but iTunes Match does not cover music videos. It has something to do with the agreement between Apple and the music record companies. I hope this answered your question.

  • What song data does iTunes Match sync?

iTunes Match seems to be completely broken in iOS 6. While ratings sync immediately, play count only does from time to time and last played never updates.
While being far from perfect, things worked better in iOS 5. I'm definately not going to renew and try to get a refund from Apple for my current subscription, since the product does not work.

iTunes Match has always had poor performance with Song data (metadata), see earlier post https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3760002.
Agree IOS 6 has not improved, however, unable to see any information from Apple promising such performance - it is as though the limited IOS 5 capability was not a priority and has simply been left out of IOS 6.
It would help if Apple clearly stated the scope of intended iTunes Match / IOS capability - it appears limited to automatic sync of Song files grouped as playlists or Albums with no undertaking to share metadata beyond limited information such as Song names, album, artist and so on.
Have to agree that the service is limited, you can only assess the value on the limited capability available - for me, with multiple computers and iDevices (including Apple TV) it is still very good despite the limitations.

  • HT4914 does Itune match charge you if your computer is wirless and you use a Verzion Myfi ??

Does this charge your Verzion MyFI GB usage??

If you both have seperate iTunes Store accounts then basically, yes, it is going "screw up" your wife's account.
iTunes Match is designed as a single-user service which is associated with one and only one iTunes Store account ID. If you have subscribed on your account and want to activate the service on another computer that is already signed in with an account the present account must be signed out and then iTunes signed into your account. This means the other computer will have complete access to your account and will only be able to make purchases on your account. iTM is not designed to be signed in and out at will. If she has apps purchased with her iTunes Store account they will not be able to be updated.

  • HT4914 Will iTunes Match sync my ringtones from my iPhone to my iPad Mini?

I just got an iPad Mini.  How do I transfer the apps and ringtones from my iPhone?

iTunes Match is currently for music only. You should be able to re-download apps on your Mini via the Purchased tab in the App Store app on it.
Ringtones are currently a one-time only download from the store, so you will need to copy them from your phone to your computer's iTunes via File > Devices > Transfer Purchases (they will copy over to the Tones section of your library, and your apps other purchases will also be copied from the phone) - you can then sync them to your iPad.

  • HT4914 Does iTunes match synchronize podcasts?

I would love for iTunes Match to synchronize podcasts, can it do that?

No, since iTunes Match basically allows you to redownload your music and you can redownload podcasts anyway without iTunes Match, there doesn't seem any point to such a feature.
However, if you have any suggestions that you think might enhance iCloud you can send Apple your feedback here.

  • Is it possible to turn off itunes match changing audiobooks into music?

As I activate iTunes Match, alls Audiobooks where changed to music
How do i turn that off?
Too bad, that the media kind is greyed, when match is active.

Hey there, I have the same problem.
When I import audiobooks from CD, they are automatically importet into "Music" and synced with match. The "Audiobook" mark cannot be selected then any more. I don´t want to sync my audiobooks. How do I avoid that? I tried to sign out of match, corrected the files into "Audiobooks" and sign in match again, and then the files all of a sudden become "Music" files again.
It seems to be connected with the fact that I have imported the Audiobook from CD...
    Any help?
    Thx

  • Will iTunes Match sync ID3 tags?

I tag all my music properly utilising BPM, Comments, Grouping and Record Label. Will iTunes Match sync these over to other devices?

You should check with the head unit manufacturer; they can most likely answer your question.

  • ITunes Match Sync Erases ID3 Tags

I have had no problems with the iTunes Match syncing between the iTunes that was on my PC (version, I don't know, but it was older than 11.4) and my iPhone and iPad.
But today I upgraded iTunes to the latest and greatest version (11.4), and now everything is MESSED UP. When I connect this new iTunes to my iTunes Match account, now all of a sudden all of the playlists on both my iPhone and iPad got messed up and came out of the Playlist Folders they were in and are now top-tier playlists. When I try to move them back into their appropriate folders in iTunes and re-sync, the re-sync effectively erases from iTunes the changes I just made. For example, it puts the playlist right back to where I moved it FROM. If I try to create new playlists, the sync erases them from iTunes. Even if I try to update an individual song's ID3 tag (like, for example, if I add some text to the "Grouping" field of a single song) and re-sync, the updated text disappears and reverts back to what it was before I synced. I don't even have my iPhone or iPad connected by cable to the computer, so it's not like iTunes is getting confused between whether to sync via cord or via iTunes Match.
I don't know what to do. Is my iTunes update corrupted? It seems to be functioning fine otherwise. No alerts. No bad DLLs. Nothing weird other than the iTunes Match syncing problem.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks.
    Sean
