HT4914 transfer non itunes purchased music from Ipod to Itunes

I have an ipod nano 3rd generation with music content (CDs and Itune purchases) that was synced to an iTunes library on an old pc that crashed and was never recoverable.
I now have another pc with a new iTunes library and content different from that on the IPOD.
I would like to transfer the content of that old ipod to the library (in a nut shell I do not wish to take out all my cds and install them manually on the new PC to have their content available for iTunes.
I pod pages say you can only transfer music from an ipod to iTunes if that music was purchased from iTunes and not if it was from CDs.
Is there a way around this or do I really have to transfer my CDs one by one to the new Itunes
Not: I am willing to buy iTunes match if that helps...

how to transfer music including purchased music from ipod touch to my computer running windows 7

    Hi, dphoward525
If you've purchased the music from itunes, when you plug the iPod in to the pc, it'll ask if you want to transfer purchases to the computer. Due to the restriction ,we can only transfer our music from PC to iPod , but not transferring from iPod to PC if you’ve not purchased them .In this case, transferring your files from iPod to computer can be a hassle , I think you will need a practical third-party solution . In order to find out how to transfer music from iPod to computer, you need to seach more information on the internet.

  • Non-purchased music from iPod to transfer to iMac

Is there any software that's recommended to transfer non-purchased items from your iPod to your iMac?

    * I see the music in my itunes, but there is no folder! How can that be??*
The files are hidden. Did you read the link I posted above? It contains instructions for both Mac and Windows to unhide the files.\
*Side note: My ipod says "do not disconnect" could that have something to do with it?*
It has nothing to do with it, your iPod is either enabled for disk use, set to manual update or both. Setting an iPod to manual update enables disk use by default. When using an iPod in enabled for disk use the "Do Not Disconnect" message will remain on the display until you physically eject the device: Safely Disconnect IPod

  • Transferring non-purchased music from Ipod to ITunes Library

Can I transfer my music from my Ipod into my ITunes Library I just created on my new laptop? I've been successful at transferring the Purchased Music, but not the music I've downloaded from my CD's into my the ITunes library on my old computer.

Hi .. we do this all the time..if its downloaded music put your music into a folder.. then use the drop down "file" menu and import the folder...its really easy..but you also have to create a path for your music..this is done via "edit" drop down /preferences/advanced.. and tell it where your music folder is... other wise your music wont play... if you are using your own cd,s its even easier just put cd in.. tick selected songs.. and import cd

  • How to transfer non-purchased music from iPod Nano to new a computer?

The title pretty much explains my delimma.  I had to buy a new laptop and am trying to move my music library from my Nano to the new computer.  I've installed iTunes and can easily transfer my iTunes purchased music, trouble is a lot of my music has been downloaded from CDs.
Can anyone help a girl out?

Create a folder on your desktop. In iTunes select all the songs you want to transfer. Drag them from iTunes to the folder. Transfer the folder to the new computer. Select all the songs in the folder and drag them to the 'Music' section of iTunes.

  • HT201169 Transfer A TON of Music From iPod to iTunes

Is there a seamless/free/easy way to transfer 8000+ songs I have on my iPod (transferred here from my CD collection) into my iTunes Match/Cloud?  I am running my Macbook on Yosemite and the latest version of iTunes.
late 2014 Burned 300+ music CDs through iTunes to EHD
    Backed up Macbook on EHD
    Upgraded to Yosemite (early 2015)
Went to perform new back up on EHD  - had to d/l new software to support Yosemite-thus erasing all data on EHD
Backed up ALL music files to iPod Classic
    Backed up Macbook  to EHD
Plugged in iPod to transfer all music to iTunes (at this point my iPod playlists, etc. were all deleted and just the 10,000+ songs were randomly everywhere---excpet for the music I Purchased on iTunes--that remained in the same folder) --- The songs on my iPod that are NOT uploading to iTunes WILL play in iTunes when my iPod is plugged into my Macbook, they will ALSO play on my iPod
Purchased ITunes Match in copy all iPod music files....will not allow any files on the cloud that I did not directly purchase from iTunes.....
Results:  iPod is a complete mess, duplicate/triple songs, cannot make playlists with songs that are ON the iPod as iTunes won't recognize the files I burned from my cds
    Anyone else experience this issue?

The iPod is NOT a backup device or a data transfer device. You can not transfer music from the iPod to iTunes. It works the other way round.
What happened to the music that was in your iTunes library? It should still be there. If it's not, then restore the data from a backup.

  • Moving purchased music from ipod

I purchased some music from the iTunes store but didn't back it up.
It's still on my iPod, but now not on my computer.
How can I get it from my iPod back on to my iTunes? (iPod is set to automatic update)
    Any help greatly appreciated

Well you hold shift and ctrl, WHILE HOLDING THEM connect the ipod and let go only after itunes opens and list the ipod. THis stops an auto update.
Now in iTUnes, goto edit>preferences>ipod and set the ipod to "Manual update" to get it ready for third party software.
Now close iTunes and use yamipod http://www.yamipod.com or Podutil http://www.kennettnet.co.uk/software/podutil.php to copy them back
Yamipod is totally free and will copy the songs. Podutil is shareware/trailware and you can use there program for free to copy the songs along with all the playcounts, playlist if your library is blank or something

  • Importing non purchased music from iPod to iTunes.

We cannot access our original itunes so we have downloaded iTunes again on a new device. Only the music that we have purchased from iTunes is on there. When we connect our iPod the music is not accessible to sync all of the music together.

By accident, I deleted two albums from my hard drive. They were purchased from the iTunes store. I do have the music on my iPod though. I went through the process of making sure my computer was authorized, and then from the file menu, chose "Transfer purchases from "my iPod". It says it is syching, but I cannot find the file in iTunes, nor on my hard drive. Any suggestions?

  • IMac Hard Drive Crashed - Need to get music from iPod to new hard drive

The 250GB hard drive on my iMac crashed - totally fried. It's been replaced and the operating system and software reinstalled. The problem - I have 22GB of music on my iPod (5G, 60GB) that I'd like to get back onto the computer. All music is legal - ripped from my library of 500+ CD's. The iPod is already set to manual updates and for use as a disc drive.
Someone please tell me there's a way to do this without having to rip all 500 CD's again...

Check this link for lots of solutions for that:

If they are songs you purchased plug your iPod in and in iTunes select "File > Transfer Purchased Music From iPod".

Just got a new  computer and none of the music from my old computer's itunes transfered when I transfered the contents of the old hard drive.  Now I'm trying to transfer music from my ipod and can't get all the files....help please?

The iphone is not a storage/backup device.
It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer for this very occasion.
Have you failed to do this?
If so, not good, then you can transfer itunes purchases:  File>Devices>Transfer Purchases
You may be able to purchase a third partyn program to get the rest ( not supported by Apple)
