HT4927 Is it possible to retrieve  photos from the clouds

It appears that my pictures are lost forever I've tried everything please help,

Not from iCloud - it is not a storage place - it can be set up to backup your IOS devices so to the extent that photos are on an IOS device they may be on a backup for that device - for questions on IOS devices it is best to post tin the correct forum
Bottom line is that you must alway have a good, current backup or you will lose photos sooner or later
If you tell us more maybe there is help - right no all we know is that you think your photos are lost for unidentified reason using some unidentified version of iPhoto - give us soem details and maybe there is help

  • Retrieving photos from the cloud

I thought I backed up all my photos to the cloud when I sent in my ipad in for repair. Apple replaced the ipad with a new one and it seems that only photos that I took with the iPad are downloading to the new one. Was I mistaken in assuming that all photos (even those downloaded to my ipad from an external source) were uploaded to the cloud.

Photos in your camera roll are part of the backup.  http://support.apple.com/kb/PH12519?viewlocale=en_US

  • Is it possible to retrieve photos from an iPod Touch 5th Generstion iOS 7 backup to iTunes on a MacBook, without using any other iDevice?

Is it possible to retrieve photos from an iPod Touch 5th Generation iOS 7 backup to iTunes on a MacBook, without using any other iDevice?
I Backed up my iPod Touch 5th Generation iOS7 onti my MacBook using iTunes
    Later, I lost the iPod.
I want to retrieve as much of the data, especially photos, as possible ftom the backup.
I do not have another iPod to use the restore function.
Is there any other way to retrieve the photos or any other data from the backup?

You could restore an iPad or iPhone from the backup.

  • HT201317 Can anyone tell me if it's possible to retrieve photos from my iphone4 that has been taken more than 30 days ago on to my pc?

Can anyone tell me if it's possible to retrieve photos from my iPhone 4 that I took more than 30 days ago on to my pc?

I had issues in 10.4.7 as well as 10.4.8.
My problems occurred at the beginning of 10.4.8, then many users brought light to me using WEP, which was not working that great. I changed my connections to WPA2 and my problem has disappeared. If my problem didn't resolve the way it did, I would have mentioned it the next time I visited an apple store.
The bottom line is that assumptions, complaining, and self diagnostics don't get many people very far and bringing the problem to apple helps them know the incidence of this problem, and helps them develop a reliable solution.
Though some users have reported the "cold shoulder" when reporting Airport problems to apple... I hope you weren't one of them.

How to retrieve photos from the iCloud

icloud only stores photos in backups (or in a special case, when using photo stream).  If you have turned on backup and made sure the camera roll is turned on (only photos from camera roll are backed up), then you can get photos back by performing a restore.  But note that users should always sync photos to a computer to archive them, relying on icloud is not foolproof.

Go to Settings>General>Reset and tap Erase All Content and Settings.  This will erase your device.  Then you will go through the setup screens again as you did when your device was new, and when given the option, select Restore from iCloud Backup.

How do I retrieve my photos from the cloud after a reset. My photos are gone from my phone, and I backed them up on iCloud? when I restored it, no camera roll pictures?

Try restoring the backup again.  Sometimes it's successful the second time.  You could also try restoring an older backup.  iCloud will have your last 3 backups is you have sufficient storage space in your account.

  • HT201317 Is it possible to retrieve photos once the 30 days is up or once the photo stream exceeds the 1000 photo limit?

Is it possible to retrieve photos once the 30 days is up or once the photo stream exceeds the 1000 photo limit?

No.  Photo stream photos are not backed up so there is no way to restore them.  Only camera roll photos are backed up.

Had you set your iPhone up to use Photo Stream?
Had your performed an iCloud backup of your iPhone before it was damaged?
If you did neither of the above, then your photos are not in the cloud, and they are gone.
If you performed an iCloud backup, then it would contain the photos in the iPhone's Camera Roll (taken on the iPhone) at the time of your last backup.  You could restore this iCloud backup to a device.
If your iPhone used Photo Stream, those photos are immediately accessible to your iPad if you set it up to use the same Photo Stream.

How do I get my stored photos from the cloud?

    If you mean Photoroll.
Then you should use the standard process of connecting your device to a computer.  It will be recognized as a camera and ask you to offload them.
If they are photos loaded from iTunes onto your phone (ie Albums), they cannot be removed this way.  You will need a 3rd party app such as Phototransfer.
    Cheers

    Hey linsfrombrandon,
The closest you will get to have your photos live in iCloud and not taking as much storage space on your iPhone is by using iCloud Photo Library. What it does is makes your Photos live in iCloud but also appear on your iPhone and other iOS devices and computers. It will be the exact same so any changes will be reflected everywhere. When they are on your iPhone, there is an option to use a compressed version. Take a look at the FAQs page and let me know if you have any other questions before making this decision to turn this on. I would also make sure that you have a safe copy of your photos before moving forward.

  • How do I retrieve photos from my cloud?

How do I retrieve the photos from my cloud? Thank you!

The only way photos are stored in icloud is in a backup from an ios device.  This assumes that icloud backup was turned on and that camera roll was turned on.  Note that photo stream is a slightly different service that is used to sync photos from one device to another, it's not really a storage service.
To retrieve photos that are in a backup, you need to reset a device (wipe all data from it) and perform a restore.  Note that many users have had problems getting their photos back from a backup - for one reason or another.  Remember, the suggested way of storing photos is to sync them to a computer or service like Dropbox.
    To restore from a backup...
