HT4967 Is there a way to import data to an iCloud calendar if you don't have a Mac?

What options exist for moving data INTO an iCloud calendar?  The only options I can find for importing data involve using iCal calendars on the Mac.
I have an iPhone and an iPad and would like to manage my calendars via iCloud.  I have event data (most sports team schedules and the like for my kids) which I would like to "load" rather than typing in.  In the past, I always used CSV files (most of the data is distributed in Excel), ICS files, etc. and imported into Outlook.  Please don't tell me to sync with Outlook as I am trying to eliminate Outlook out of the equation.
I just don't see any way to get data into an iCloud calendar other than typing it in or sync'ing with another calendar program.  Am I missing something?

Typing it in or Synchronizing are the only ways, but if you don't want to use Outlook (a stance I agree with) try eMClient. It's free for one user and 2 machines, Vista and Win7 are supported.

  • Is there a way to import a Motion template in FCPX, IF you DON'T have Motion on the computer.

I am working with another editor that has FCPX, but not Motion. I created some lower 3rd templates in Motion that I would like him to use. Is there any way to import motion5 templates in to FCPX if the user does not have the Motion application?

The titles you made in Motion are located in your movies folder. the path is ~/user/movies/Motion Templates/Titles. Your other editor needs to create that file path in his machine and then drop your titles in the Titles folder and FCPX will see them. ie He needs to create a Motion Templates folder and a Titles folder inside of it and then drop in your title folders. Make sure the folders are correctly named and I believe they are case sensitive. Just duplicate what you see in your movies folder.

  • Is there a way to import data from excel -when one of the columns in excel is hyperlink column?

Is there a way to import data from excel  - so if a column is hyperlink - the whole data will move to the list (text + link of the hyperlink column)?

    Hi,
According to your description, you want to export excel which contains a hyperlink column to SharePoint list.
    Refer to the following steps:
Open the Excel, insert/create the table.
Now click on any cell of table and go to the ‘Design Tools’.
Click on the Export and then ‘Export table to SharePoint List’.
You will see a popup where you need to provide the URL of SharePoint site, list name and description.
Then click on next, On the next screen you will see columns with data types which are going to create in SharePoint list.
Now click finish and wait until the operation gets finished. You will see that list gets created in SharePoint site with the records.

  • Is there a way to import data in a spreadsheet or text file into Contacts v7?

Is there a way to import data in a spreadsheet or text file into Contacts v7? I have a list of about 500 people and their email addresses in FileMaker Pro that I can export in a number of formats that can be manipulated. Is there any way to get those contacts into Contacts without entering them one at a time?

I have answered my own question. I exported the data from a layout in FileMaker Pro containing the required fields as tab separated text. That produced a .tab file that Contacts wanted nothing to do with. However, when I changed the .tab in the file name to .txt, Contacts accepted it as a file to import (File/Import). I then identified the field in Contacts in which the data in each field in the txt file was to be placed and in it went! The trick was changing .tab to .txt in the name of the file exported by FileMaker Pro.

  • Is there a way to Move files to the iCloud thus freeing up disk space on my Mac? Or does iCloud only sync (replicate) files between my Mac and the cloud?

Is there a way to Move files to the iCloud thus freeing up disk space on my Mac? Or does iCloud only sync (replicate) files between my Mac and the cloud? I want to free up disk space on my Mac and assumed that the icloud would be a good way to do this, but having 'moved' 70Gb of files to the iCloud drive (I've upgraded to 200Gb storage) my Mac is still nearly full and I've realised that it seems to just Sync files just like dropbox.

So, the big question is did the Apple guys confirm that this is how the new iCloud drive should be working?  I'm guessing, from your response, that this is indeed the case.  Are they going to fix this anytime soon?  I thought that this was a new function of the iCloud drive in Yosemite.
I just want an online storage facility to back up my photo & music collections.  I did look at Dropbox as they have a good deal going with their Dropbox Pro, however this is still just a sync service where the Master files reside on your local disk drive - although I have read that there may be a way to work around this.  Still not ideal.

  • Time Capsule Says: "The folder "Data" can't be opened because you don't have permission to see its contents."

I have a new Mac 27 with two users.  Both are admins.  For the second user, it will not allow me to access the "Data" file on Time Capsule but instead tells me "The folder “Data” can’t be opened because you don’t have permission to see its contents."  I have tried all manner of "fixes" suggested on the internet without success.  Can anyone tell me how to fix this problem?  Many thanks.

Are you trying to do both at once? There is an issue with TC where if you have one login user accessing the drive, another user cannot use it. You need one to log out so the other can log in. It is ok from another computer I think.. just you cannot maintain two logins from the same computer.

  • After trying to restore from time capsule, I get the following message when I try to access the folder "data." The folder "Data" can't be opened because you don't have permission to see its contents.  Any ideas?

  • Is there a way to import data from a specific text field in a PDF form directly into a text field in a different PDF?

I know you can import form data from an .fdf file. Is there a way to import a specific value from that .fdf file into a text field in a separate pdf form?

So I want the FDF to export every time the user saves or closes the PDF. Then I want the import to happen every time the user opens the PDF. That being said, this all has to work with Adobe Reader. If this is possible in anyway, I'd manage this would require some time of script. Any thoughts?

  • Is there a way to import data using oracle import...

Is there a way I can import tables into my workspace from other schemas or from remote databases without having to create csv files of the data I want and loading it into html_db? I'd like to either just use a db link or something to report on data in a remote database or use Oracle's import utility to import a whole schema into my workspace. Is this possible?
Thanks for any advice in advance

Sure is. Your workspace has one or more schemas assigned to it. You can use any of those methods. If you need to import a whole schema, you will need to go into the HTML DB administration utility and associate the new schema with your workspace.

  • Is there a way to import data into existing contacts in Address Book?

I want to import data from a .csv (for example) into existing address book entries. It would have to recognize and match the name, then recognize the new data and enter it.
    Is that possible?
(Now that I think about it, maybe this can be done with Address Book's existing conflict resolution method (that compares similar entries and asks which to keep)…?)

I have answered my own question. I exported the data from a layout in FileMaker Pro containing the required fields as tab separated text. • Is there a way to improve the sign in experience so that users don't have to specify both address and username?

I've wondered this for a long time-is there a way to set up Lync so that I can have users sign in with just the sign in address, and not have to specify the username as well? Things tend to go like this:
User launches lync client-types sign in address and password (in this case [email protected])
Sign in will fail, and now they'll need to specify the username (in this case CTT1\user) and retype their password
Now sign in succeeds (and it'll remember credentials)
Is there a way to fix things in DNS so that step 2 isn't required?  It's a pain for the out of the box experience for new users, and the fact that the login has to fail to be able to specify the username in the first place is a little counterintuitive.
Is there a record we can create so that the domain name (in this case CTT1) is inferred from the SIP domain?

Well if you want a "single signon" experience, the Workstation will need to de join to the domain :-)  otherwise it will prompt for the Username and password for authentificaiton.
You can then check the save password box.
For remote user that are NOT on the domain, same behavior, you will be prompted to enter Username/Password.

If the developers of the app don't support 4.2.1 then the answer is no, unless you have an older version lying around.

  • Is there a way to import metadata to wav files in my library?

Is there a way to import metadata to wav files in my library?
I have about 1,500 .wav files that are presently in my iTunes library, but as most of you are aware .wav files have their limitations with regard to how iTunes translates their specific track information. I haven't been archiving using .wav in sometime, I've since switched to another more iTunes friendly format. But, I have these 1,500 files left and I'm desperately trying to find a faster way to log the info.
I've built a data table with all of the track information I want to import. Does anyone know of a good macro, or script that will allow me to import this data so I don't have to manually open each individual .wav file and input this manually?
    Any help would be appreciated!
Note: I've searched the forums, and I've looked at similar posts, but nothing to solve this specific little quandary. If I've somehow overlooked a post, please forgive my repeat post.

I can probably help with this.
I have a script called TagFromFilename that can apply fill in the details that can be extracted from the file path if the .wavs are stored in the layout <Album Artist>\<Album>\[D-]## <Name>[ - <Artist>].<Ext> where D is an optional leading disc number and <Artist> is an optional trailing artist (otherwise both artist and album artist are set to the grandparent folder). You just need to make sure that before you add the tracks to iTunes, that it won't rename the files. You can do this by turning off the Keep option if the files are inside the media folder, or the copy option if the tracks are located outside.
Alternatively I have another script called ExportImport which allows for almost any editable to be adjusted, as long as you can export the internal track IDs of each track and then marry them up with the data you want to import. See Batch Add Comments Tag Solution? for a previous example of how if might be done. I'll gladly go into more detail if you tell me what fields you already have and what identifying information is present.
