Summary
To update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch from iOS 4 to iOS 5 or later, you must erase and restore your device first, before completing the update.

As part of the update and restore process, iTunes will (in order):

Additional Information Notes:

You can restore this content by syncing with the Mac or PC with which you normally sync.
Movie rentals purchased directly from your device will not get transferred to your computer when you sync and transfer your purchases.

iTunes can't be deleted because it comes with OS X. In order to delete it, open Terminal and copy:
sudo rm /Applications/iTunes.app
This will remove iTunes, so then you can reinstall iTunes

HT201413 how do i test a port on my windows 7 computer? i followed the steps in this article, but the command prompt said that "telnet" is not a valid command.

So I havent been able to connect to the iTunes store since June. It's getting a tad annoying. I followed all of the troubleshooting steps that i could find, and I am currently on the last one, which involves making sure that the ports that iTunes needs to function are open on my computer. I followed the article that was telling me how to do this, found my ip address, and was on the step where you actually check the port. I was told to use the command telnet, but when i did, the command prompt told me that " 'telnet' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program, or batch file." So, I seem to be stuck. If someone could enlighten me on how to actually check if a port is open, or how to fix error code 11222, please let me know.

Windows 7 may need telnet installed, as mentioned in http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc771275(v=ws.10).aspx
I think 11222 is actually support.apple.com/kb/TS4123. Is that what you see?
I'm guessing you have one of the programs listed there and updating it may resolve.
Tricky bit is some software is bundled with other software - like RealPlayer Plus bundles Speedbit.

My mom passed me her phone as she couldn't get it to restart. I got it to charge and restart in recovery mode. However, I've tried all steps on this and many other forums and it is stuck in "trying to restore". On the phone, it will blink a white screen, show the apple logo and a progress bar then quickly disappear then on the computer give me error code 9. I have tried 3 different cords, on both my MacBook Air and my iMac. Same results on both computers. She purchased a new phone as she couldn't do without, but would love to fix this phone and give to one of my children. This phone has not been jailbroken. Any help would be sooooo appreciated! Not sure what will happen if I try to take this to Apple.

Quite likely that multi-pin dock connector of the iPhone requires cleaning or closer inspection.

I know little about sql Which registry keys is he talking about?
The only things running are windows internal Database and Sql Server Browser.
If any other instance had the correct keys id copy them to my default mssql DB

Anyway, I found the solution... Since I couldn't get my default instance to start, I decided to install a named instance, hoping that the named instance's protocols might get the default instance's protocols jump started. Long shot, I know, but if it didn't
work, at least I could still run my new named instance and get back to work.
Once the named instance was installed, I tried the default instance but it still wouldn't start. Not wanting to give up, I looked in the registry where the network library keys were stored and after comparing the default instance's values to the named instance's
values, I noticed that for some reason, my default instance's keys were all screwed up. There was no np, sm or tcp folder... just VIA. This would explain why I couldn't enable any of the protocols... there was nothing to read from (or to write to) the registry.
So I copied the named instance's keys over to the default instance, made a few minor modifications and I was able to start my default instance.
To Microsoft: In the configuration manager, when making any modifications to protocols or anything else, why not verify/prompt/replace the registry keys at that time?
Please help. Step by step instructions if possible?

No I copied someone elses post to see if someone could explain which registry keys they copied because mimicking it might fix my problem. I am desperate to fix the problem to get my backup going.The person does not detail which keys. If it were me I would
elaborate so someone else who sees the post might have a better chance of fixing their issue.
Unfortunately I cannot find the original software or would have attempted a reinstall by now.
This was handed off to me by someone who is no longer working for the campany so the only information I have is what i can figure out.

Just to confirm, you are logged into the iTunes Store using the account in which the balance exists, and the balance is showing at the top of the iTunes Store window? And you're not trying to purchase gifts for someone else?

Hi Jacky,
You can make a property of a step uneditable by changing the property
flags for the step. First, you want to be able to view the hidden
properties so that you can change the flags for these properties as
well. You do this by going to Configure>>Station Options
and selecting the Preferences tab. Check the box for Show Hidden
Properties. Once you have done this you can select the step type
from the types palette. In the window to the left, you can expand
the tree for the type to see all the properties of that step.
Right click on the property that you do not want users to be able to
edit, select Properties. Then click the Advanced button.
Here you will see a list of the setable flags. Check the box for
PropFlag_NonEditable. You can then do this for all the properties
of the step that you do not want users to edit.

Try cleaning the lens and see if that will restore functionality to the DVD drive. Use a DVD lens cleaning disk, if you have a can of compressed air, shoot some into the slot or wrap a fine microfiber cloth (eyeglasses cleaning cloth) around a business card and insert it gently inside the slot.
If no success, make an appointment at an Apple store genius bar and get a free diagnosis from them.

We have Oracle 10.2 and Windows 2003.
We have Oracle on Cluster (with Windows software).
When the System are without cluster all its OK!!!!!!
We have 2 Resources Cluster Group: Oracle and Applications.
We have Oracle in Oracle cluster group.
We have W Drive and a ftp program in Application cluster group.
We have C drive in both nodes. We have installed Oracle in both nodes but we have W drive only associate to the Active Node because is a Cluster resource (Application cluster group).
All days we receive text files by ftp and we put it on W Drive. This text files are readen with external tables in Oracle.
We have a problem when oracle fails and it goes to the another node (for ex. node2) because the external tables fail because the files are on Node1 on W Drive. If we move manually Applications cluster resource to Node2 then all it is OK.
We think to put UNC pathes instead of W but its not possible (Metalink: Note:290703.1)
How do you configure the server in this situation?????????????

We run a similar configurations and i doubt you have a chance other then reconfigure your setup. The way we do it is to have an ftp client in our database group and periodically transfer the files a second time (not elegant but it's working).
If that's not an option you might be able to use unc names in your ftp server and set the ftp root to a directory hosted on a disk which is part of the database group.
Or move to unix (that's what we do now). Than you don't have to bounce your server once in a month to apply security patches...

if you try to install an app that depends on adobe air, you should be prompted to download and install adobe air (unless it's already installed).
you can download and install directly so you're not prompted by that app, Adobe - Adobe AIR
