HT4972 How do I update my Iphone 3g which has OS4.2.1 to OS5.x.x. I tunes says that 4.2.1 is the latest, but some apps tell me that it is out of date.
I have tried through Itunes, butthat tells me that my OS is up to date (4.2.1) Unable to use some Apps as they require later OS. Also unable to receive/send picture messages for same reason. Apple web site not much help. HELP
The apps issue is the app developer's decision on what iOS to support, not Apple. The issue with send/receive picture messages is not with the inability to upgrade your iOS. How long have you been unable to send/receive picture messages? MMS has been available since iOS 3.1

Unfortunately the FB app now requires iOS 4.3. You're not the only 3G owner to face this. Your only option is to open Safari on your phone, go to facebook.com, sign into your account, then tap the share arrow at the bottom and choose Add to Home Screen. This will put a shortcut icon on your phone that will launch Safari and take you to your FB page.

I have the latest iTunes, but it seems to get stuck on the back up stage; its not that it can't back up as it happens every time I connect, but when I click upgrade to ios 6, then it suddenly takes a long time and eventually just doesn't go anywhere. even left it running overnight but didn't happen. Just doesn't take the next step of uploading the operating system. help would be greatly appreciated, have been trying to do this for two days now

Cant not install the latest Firefox.
Do a clean (re)install and delete the Firefox program folder.
* Download a fresh Firefox copy and save the file to the desktop.

* Uninstall your current Firefox version.
* Do not remove personal data when you uninstall the current version or you lose your bookmarks and other data in the profile folder.
* Remove the Firefox program folder before installing that newly downloaded copy of the Firefox installer.
* It is important to delete the Firefox program folder to remove all the files and make sure that there are no problems with files that were leftover after uninstalling.
Your bookmarks and other profile data are stored elsewhere in the Firefox Profile Folder and won't be affected by a reinstall, but make sure that you do not select to remove personal data if you uninstall Firefox.
