HT4972 I can't get my IMessages to work on my iPad? Wondering if I'm doing something wrong. Error message says recipient is not registered but I know they are.
My iPad is updated, so I'm not sure whats going on.
you will have to restore the ipad to default settings. this happened to me when i was trying to add my friends apple id . he was not registered then. after he registered i tryed it again but got the same error. restore is the only option you have.

At this point, I would go for reset to its factory default condition, using the iTunes program to get a clean system install. That way you'll clean everything out and just have it set up the way it would come from the factory. You'll need to do your backup (on the iTunes program too) and be sure you understand which stuff will be saved and which will not (from the links below). Also turn off any anti-virus program you may have on your desktop. Then when you reset it to the factory default condition, don't restore your backup just yet ... until you check it out without your data put back on it. Verify its operation first, to make sure that you know it's okay. Hopefully everything is okay at that point, otherwise you'll have to take it into Apple to check it out for any hardware failure.

Well did you change the apple id in imessage?
settings - message - add your new id and delete the old id.
Or turn off imessage and then back on to reactivate with your new id. -

When I try to send email from my iPad and iPhone it says that I have the wrong username and/or password, but I know they are correct. Can someone help me?
"Your email account" means to tap on the name of your email account. Whatever it is listed as in the settings.
In my mail settings, one of my email accounts is a Comcast account. I tap on the Comcast name and it brings up this window.
Then I tap on the arrow under the Outgoing mail server smtp setting to get to the next window.
In the resulting window, I then tap on the arrow next to the smtp server under the Primary Server setting.
That brings up this window in which I check to make sure that my user name and password have been entered correctly. If those items are missing, enter them in the appropriate fields and then tap done. -
I want to link my other email accounts to my imail so I can see them all at once. When I enter their account information, imail says I'm using the wrong passwords but I know they are correct. What now?
This was EXACTLY what I needed about the purchases I made from my device. However, is there a way to re-download other ones you've made from a computer? Because I realized some of them were not just purchased from my device.

I am trying to update my iPod touches and keep getting an error message saying iTunes could not back up my iPod because a session could not be started. I have followed all trouble shooting advice found on the apple website, unplugged and replugged the device, restarted my computer, etc. Any suggestions would be much appreciated. Thanks

Just in case the component being referenced is not part of iTunes but is rather part of one of the other related programs, it might be worth trying a complete uninstall/reinstall of iTunes and related componentry, as per the following troubleshooting document:

i get an error message saying itunes could not sync mail accounts. because the mail accounts are in use by the iPhone. It asks that i close the mail accounts settings on the iPhone and sync again. Is it requesting that i delete my email accounts?

How do i get my ipod touch out of recovery mode......keep getting error message saying ipod could not be restored an unknown error occurred.

This has happened to me before as well. Before we get into some thick detail try to see if it's a minor problem. Check for the following things:
3G/4G/WiFi connection
iMessage is in fact on
Airplane mode is turned off
You have full signal
The other person receiving data doesn't have iMessage restriced by the following ways listed above.
If it's none of those. Try restarting your phone & clearing your dock of running apps. Thanks for posting!
