hello ,i bought an iphone4 from uk .the version is 4.3.5 (8L1).i want to update my phone to ios5 or ios6 but in my phone there is no option coming up in settings like they do in ios5 for software update.i got itunes 10.7 on ma computer.plz help n guide me to do what is right.
The over the air option was not added until iOS 5. Since you are not running that version you will have to update the old fashioned way by connecting to your computer and in iTunes clicking on Update.

I have an iphone 4s. I have an alert that there is a software update available to iOS 6. When I got to the settings tab, the "download and install" button is not highlited and I can't click on it. Below that, it says that this update requires a Wi-Fi network connection to download. So I connected my phone to my computer and tried to update throug itunes. I am confused because I am connected to the internet, but for some reason the connection is not being recognized when I try to update.
I am using a Gateway laptop and my internet connection is a verizon 4g device that I plug into a USB port. I feel like this should be so simple but have not been able to figure it out even when I called Apple and spoke to a rep...help!In order to download to your phone over the air, you need to be connected to WiFi.
It's possible the Internet connection through Verizon is not stable enough for the downlaod to begin (it is a very large download).
You might want to head over to Starbucks with your laptop for the afternoon and see if you can download it over their WiFi. -

I have a Gen 4 Ipod Touch, it is still running with IOS 4. When i go to my settings and select <General> there is no <Software Update> button to choose from. How do i update my Ipod to the new IOS system?
You have to hook it up to a computer and update it to ios 5 and then there will be a "software update" button.

Recently Got a Mac Book and was wondering if there is any software that Apple recommends to import my music/pics/video from my Iphone onto my computer. I no longer have the previous computer and if I sync my Iphone I'll lose everything.

You should be able to:
Backup the device to the new windows installation
Transfer your purchases into a newly authorized library
Recover any other media using third party tools as suggested in this post from forum regular Zevoneer
Restore the device from the backup
This process should switch the association of the device to the new library, preserving the data and settings in your apps.
May also be prudent to attempt a backup to iCloud directly from the device before you start... Settings > iCloud > Storage & Backup > iCloud Backup > On. It won't save any media but it would preserve the general account settings and documents in case anything goes wrong while you are trying to extract your other data.
When you get it all fixed, make a backup! (Windows tip). For a Mac use Time Machine or Carbon Copy Cloner.

when i open itunes the warning itunes Library.itl appears with the following message. ..."it cannot be read because it was created by a newer version of itunes. after checking software updates we have the lastest version. What to do?
Perhaps check to see if you're accidentally running two different versions of iTunes. There's some information on troubleshooting that in the Opening iTunes section of the following document:

I plugged in my phone to my macbook to transfer images. I pulled ou the usb cord without ejecting it properly and all the pictures from my phone got deleted and didint get transfered. Is there any way I can recover my photos They are really important.

Whilst synching to my PC it said there was a software update for the iPhone.
It is now stuck with a message saying connect to iTunes. I've tried resetting it in various ways but it still comes back to Connect to iTunes, but it won't.

I got iPhone4 and I just bought imac with facetime installed. It work great! But just want to know when using facetime connected to my iphone from my imac. Do I have to use my minute phone plan or it not count calling time because it connecting thru wireless?

Can anyone out there help, after a recent Apple software update my Epson Stylus Photo RX640 will no longer print, every other aspect of the printer works fine including the scanner but it just will not print, I sent an email to apple but all i got was an automated reply directing me to their support page, the email i sent is below this explains in full what the problem is & what i have done to try & fix this problem.

I'm pulling my hair out after a recent software update from apple, since this update my Epson Stylus Photo RX640 will not print, every other function of the printer including the scanner works fine,
Please see attached file of the error message coming up in the print queue.
I have spent days trying to fix this, i have been onto Epsons website & followed their resolution for this error message to no avail, after contacting them again with the results i got an email back saying : In response to your email, the RX640 will use an inbox or gutenprint driver on Mac OS X 10.6.8, it is not compatible with an Epson driver.
I have also tried re-installing drivers from original Discs for the printer but it still will not print, obviously this error has been caused by Apple's latest software update, when are Apple going to fix this problem? i need my printer working ASAP.

BrianIt is hardly Apple's fault that Epson can't/won't update their driver, but at least Epson suggest that you use the Gutenprint driver, which in any case is far better that what Epson offer.

I want to update iPad 2 but it's older and do not recall ever updating. Not sure what ISO is loaded? When I go to settings and open the general there is no spot for update?

Could you pls help me? i reinstalled my computer and the Safari Icon has a ? mark on it in the dock, I pulled it out and it disappeared, I checked for this icon in the application folder but couldnt find it there. So for me to go on Internet i have to open Firefox first. 2. The message Java Plug in has been disable appeared immediatle after the reinstallation. I need help from the community pls.

I think that your Mac detects your hard disk, but the problem is that your new hard disk doesn't contain any operating system, so your Mac doesn't find any bootable partition and you see a question mark.
If your Mac came with DVDs, insert the Mac OS X Install DVD and hold the C key while your Mac is starting. Then, just install Mac OS X. If the hard disk isn't prepared to install Mac OS X, you will have to erase it using "Mac OS Extended (Journaled)". See > http://pondini.org/OSX/DU1.html
