I have a model FB292LL Ipad. Can it be upgraded to OS 5?

See iOS: How to update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4623
If you are currently running an iOS lower than 5.0, connect to your computer & click on the "Update your device using iTunes".
Tip - Disable your firewall and anitvirus software temporarily.  Then download and install the iOS update. After you update to iOS 5.x, the next update can be installed via wifi (i.e., not connected to your computer).

  • If my wife and I share our Imac but have separate Iphones and Ipads, can we set up 2 separate Iclouds on the Imac?  Or do we have 1 Icloud account and synch our individual devices separately?

Set 2 independent users on the iMac, each can then have their own accounts (iCloud, iTunes etc)

What the latest ios for iphone 3g A1241 model?  How can i upgrade it.

    iOS 4.2.1 is the latest.
If you are on a previous level to update you will have to connect your iPad to iTunes on a computer (preferably the one you sync with and backup to).

  • I have a 2007 macbook.  Can i upgrade to os x Mountain Lion?

I have a 2007 macbook.  Can I upgrade my Mac OS X Leopard (Version 10.5) to OS X Mountain Lion?  If not, what the newest software I can update to?

First we need to know which one of the 9 different models of MacBook you have. To see which model you have go to the Apple in the upper left corner and select About This Mac, then click on More Info (and then System Report if you’re running 10.7 Lion). When System Profiler comes up check the Model Identifier and post it back here.
The Early 2006 model 1,1 Core Duo can only run a maximum of 10.6 Snow Leopard.
The models Late 2006 Core 2 Duos 2,1 through Early 2008 4,1 can only run a maximum of 10.7 Lion.
The Late 2008 model 5,1 Aluminum Unibody through the Mid 2010 White Unibody model 7,1 can run 10.8 Mountain Lion.
You can upgrade from 10.5  to 10.6 with no problems as long as you have at least 1gb of RAM. Any program that runs under 10.5 should run under10.6.
See this list for third party programs compatibility with 10.6: http://snowleopard.wikidot.com/  You might have to upgrade some drivers for printers, etc.... And you will have to install Rosetta if you have any Power PC applications   http://www.macobserver.com/tmo/article/snow_leopard_installing_rosetta/
The 10.6 Snow Leopard DVD is in the Apple online store. You can get it for $19.99. You will need to be running 10.6.8 to access the App Store to order Lion. http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC573/mac-os-x-106-snow-leopard
    System Requirements for 10.6:
Mac computer with an Intel processor
    1GB of memory
    5GB of available disk space
    DVD drive for installation
Some features require a compatible internet service provider.
Once you are at 10.6.8 Lion is still available from Apple. You will have to call Apple Customer Care 1-800-692-7753 or 1-800-676-2775. to purchase it. Then within 3 days you will get an email with a code which you can use to download Lion from the App Store.  The price is $19.99.
You must have at least a Late 2006 model 2,1 MacBook. Lion will require at least 2gb of RAM but really needs 4gb to run smoothly.
As for third party programs see this list for compatibility with 10.7 http://roaringapps.com/apps:table
Also Lion doesn't run any Power PC programs. To see if you have any Power PC programs go to the Apple in the upper left corner and select About This Mac, then click on More Info. When System Profiler comes up select Applications under Software. Then look under Kind to see if any of your applications are listed as Power PC. Universal and Intel will run under Lion.
Before Mac switched to Intel processors in 2006 they used Power PC processors from 1994 to 2005. Power PC 601 through 604, G3, G4 and G5. Applications written for the Power PC processors need the application called Rosetta to run on Intel processors. This was part of the Operating System in 10.4 and 10.5 but was an optional install in 10.6. With 10.7 Lion Apple dropped all support for Power PC applications.

  • I have Quicken for mac 2005, can I upgrade to Maverick from OS X 10.6.8?

I have Quicken for mac 2005, can I upgrade to Maverick from OS X 10.6.8 and not keep all data?

I am new to the Apple Support community but am hopeful that you can help me!!  I have just bought a MacBook Air, migrated my stuff and found that my Quicken for Mac 2005 is no longer supported. (I still have my Quicken 2005 working on my Mac OS X - Version 10.6.8 (Snow Leopard?)  I saw a thread of communications back in 2012/13 where you helped a lot of people find ways to get their 2005 data into new versions - something about a $15 purchase.  However, I can't find those discussions again.  AND I don't know if they are 'relevant' because I'm now using the latest Yosemite, which someone just told me to upgrade for free....But this same person told me to switch to iBank, which others who have used Quicken for years didn't like.  I'd just as soon stay with Quicken but it seems like they have less support for Mac users.  Do you think I can move my data successfully still?  I live and work overseas and leave the USA on Monday and am trying to leave my older MacBook Air (the one with my 2005 Quicken on it) here....
    Thanks for any advice.

You need Snow Leopard before you can go to Lion...
Check that your Mac meets the System Requirements...

There is no way to clear the update notifications - unless you delete the apps completely from the iPad and from iTunes on your computer.
Obviously you want to continue to use the apps, so you either have to update the iPad and get the newer versions - or just ignore the update notifications. They will not go away.
