HT4972 i lost all my music on my iPhone when i updated to iOS 5!!!!! help!!
I just updated my iphone to the ios 5 system and I lost all my music, however i also just puchased an imac desktop today and somewhom i can not seem to find my music in my libray on itunes either!!!
Help!
Where did the content come from to begin with? It should all be in the iTunes library on your computer.
Did you fail to use some basic intelligence and ensure there was a backup of the device prior to updating it?

What you posted looks like the iTunes Library.xml file I will let you read about how iTunes works but not only is the .xml not your main library it is just the listing of tracks in your library and where the music files should be located. Your music is actually in media files (by the way, it is pointless to zip those as they are already compressed). Anyway, read these and you will see that your true library file (iTunes Library.itl) is only a small, but still important, part of a complete library.

As you can see, a library has several components, so "getting it back" depends upon what is missing, what it was you actually backed up in the end, if any of this music was purchased from the iTunes Store, etc. -
I have paid for itunes match and have now lost all my music off my iphone except what I paid for from itunes, 964 songs gone into the cloud. Can anyone help please?
Enabling iTunes Match does not delete music from your computer. Why do you think it is now not in the iTunes library if it was before? If all of your music was in the iTunes library then it is also now in the cloud if iTunes has completed it's scan and all the music meets the match requirements. Enable the iCloud Status column in the iTunes browser by switching to Song view and pulling down View > View Options. Select iCloud Status then close the small window. Sort on the new column. Your music should be listed as "purchased," "matched" and "uploaded." Some tracks may be "ineligible." Post back and let us know.

My aunt recently upgraded her software to ios 6 and lost all of her contacts. However, when I updated my software this did NOT happen. She hasn't backed up to iCloud, so does anyone know of a way to restore her contacts without the iCloud?

The iphone is designed to be synced to your computer or cloud service regularly. If she failed to do this, then they are likely gone. -

I am trying also to take the music from my ipod and import to iphone.. how can I do this.try changing your appleID to whatever you were using when you were acessing the UK store. Then try to re-download the purchased music. I am not sure if re-downloading music works from the UK store, however. It might be US only. If this is the case, you will need to contact iTunes support.

I just can't seem to find all the music I bought on itunes since I downloaded updates for my iphone today. I followed the suggestions in the support area, but it's still a mystery where it's gone. Any ideas please?
ThanksI take it you didn't transfer purchases BEFORE you attempted to update your phone? If that's the case and you live in the US you can look at your purchase history and re-download the purchased music using iTunes. If you're outside the US, you're out of luck.

I need to update my iPod software, but I don't want to if I'm going to loose all my music. I don't have any of the songs on my iTunes on my laptop because my laptop is new. I don't sync my ipod to my laptop for that reason.

Copy music
- Connect the iPod to the computer and make a backup by right clicking on the iPod under Devices in iTunes and select Back Up.
- Restore the iPod from that backup. The iPod will be updated too.
Note that the iPod backup that iTunes makes does not included synced media like apps and music. -
Lost all my default Calendars on iPhone 4S after trying to use iCloud - HELP!
Hi all,
Recently updated my iPhone 4S to IOS7.1.1 software. In short, I was trying to create a shared calendar to use with my man, who just got a new iPhone. Found out you could only share a calendar using iCloud (I've never used iCloud before).
So went into the iCloud settings on my phone and toggled to active the iCloud calendars. In doing so all of my "default calendars" created on the iPhone directly, have been completely removed. There used to be an option in my Calendars called "From My PC" but that option is now gone and only replaced with the blank iCloud calendars.
I was under the impression new iCloud calendars would appear for me to create / edit, as well as also have my exisiting calendars, this is not the case. All of my calendars on the phone are now gone and only blank ones remain, even after deleting iCloud completely.
I have not ever used iCloud before, nor have I synced my calendars with my PC, the calendars on my phone were all done directly on the phone. No copy or backup available.
Please tell me someone out there can help me retrieve these directly from the phone?? (No backups are available). Can I reset my phone to yesterday? Prior to the software install??? ANY HELP PLEASE....
Lesa.If you backed up both devices - like you should always do when you update a device - any device - then the contacts should be in your backup - and you can restore from the backup. If you didn't backup - they may be gone.

If the contacts are still in Address Book on your computer, but just not on the phone, you can tell iTunes to force replace the contacts on your phone with those from your computer. You can do this by going into the Info tab when your iPhone is connected, and checking the Contacts box under the Advanced section at the bottom of the page.
You may also want to backup your Address Book information as well. It's a good idea to make periodic backups of your contact and calendar information in case information accidentally gets deleted or changed. You can find out how to backup your Address Book data here:

You can not merge accounts.
Apps are tied to the Apple ID used to download them, you can not transfer them. -
Lost all itunes music on my iPhone 5 with itunes 11
My iPhone 5 won't sync with iTunes 11 through iCloud. I have tried to sync to the cloud about 25 times. I have reset my iPhone, I have deleted my account and then logged on again, I have done everything I can think of to get it to sync but the iCloud picture gets about 3/4 of the way done on the iPhone and then shows empty and starts again. Could anyone help me?
Have you already checked how big your photo library is? Maybe it takes to much space from your phone tosync your whole library. Open iTunes, connect your phone and then check your media-sync-settings for Music, Videos, Photos etc.

How to remain all my music on my iPhone, when im going to synchronize with a new computer?
I had my whole music library on my old computer. since the computer broke i've been scared to synchronize with my new one. I am pretty sure that all of my music and pictures and so on will be deleted when i synchronize with my new computer. I have an iPhone btw. Is there anyway that i can somehow transport my songs from iPhone to the new computer? or do something so my iPhone wont lose all of the songs?
Please help.It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer for just this reason.

If so, not good, then you can transfer itunes purchases from your iphone. File>Transfer Purchases.
If you sync to a blank computer, your contacts, calendars and itunes content will be erased.
