HT4972 It still did not work. I keep getting a network timed out error.
This is really making me upset. Why can I not update my iPad 2.
If you have an iPad 1, the max iOS is 5.1.1. For newer iPads, the current iOS is 6.0.1. For the iPad Mini the iOS is 6.0.2. The Settings>General>Software Update only appears if you have iOS 5.0 or higher currently installed.

If you are currently running an iOS lower than 5.0, connect the iPad to the computer, open iTunes. Then select the iPad under the Devices heading on the left, click on the Summary tab and then click on Check for Update.
Tip - If connected to your computer, you may need to disable your firewall and anitvirus software temporarily. Then download and install the iOS update. Be sure and backup your iPad before the iOS update. After you update an iPad (except iPad 1) to iOS 6.x, the next update can be installed via wifi (i.e., not connected to your computer).

i deal with a itunes update problem when i try to update i get coneection has timed out error! i had the same problem when i had vista.. yesterday i formated my pc but i still have the same prommblem. i dont deal with such problems on direct downloads.i have this problem only with tunes. maybe my conection freezes for a sec idk
Sorry I gave this a 'this helped me' but after a long struggle I found some ticked box somewhere from some unauthorised chrome extension blaaa....... the link you gave was great, not only did it confirm all the bad things google is supposed to be up to it provided a better browser. Cheers man.
Anyone who find this; I disabled all extension in chrome. I then searched the word proxy in the settings section. A button came up, "change proxy settings" I clicked on it. Earlier it was greyed out as an extension was interefering.. It brought up a box with my own settings from my computer. Then I clicked LAN settings, then unchecked the 'Use a proxy server' button.
P.S. If you're using chrome, bail, and dowload Komodo Dragon. It's virtually identical, but you're not tracked, and you can use chrome extensions, and you can quickily transfer your chrome preferences into it. -
Anyone know how to fix this problem..... I am trying to update and download the latest version for my phone and it gets all the way to the end and says network timed out error 3259 or something. I have tried a so many times and get the same answer. I have restarted the computer, internet, etc. NOTHING. HELP!!!
Are you doing this over a wireless network. This happened a long time ago when we had DSL. I got sick of it and went to broadband thru our cable company.
If you are using wireles router, use a cable and connect your computer via the cable to the modem or wireless router if you have a location for the cable upon the wireless router. I think it is a cat 5 cable that connects the computer to your modem or wireless router. This way you Internet should not time out.
I hope this helps you. It is hard to identify the issue not knowing your Internet connect setup. Some modems and wireless routers have more Port options. -

Did you go to Settings>iTunes and App Stores and sign out and sign back in?

I have tried to download an audiobook that contains Two Parts. The second part was successful in downloading. However, the first part was not. I keep getting "Part 1 could not download at this time". I should have enough space for the download. Any suggestions of what I can do?

u can make a new id and password by going to apple.com and clicking on the forgot id and forgot password button in login.
also u can go to a nearby apple store and tell them that u want a new apple id and password

I get a message can not connect to the internet when trying to open Mozzila Firefox. It was working fine until my internet service went down. Once back up it was not working. I have tried installing and uninstalling the browser. I have looked at the firewall and proxy on my computer. Still not working Internet Exployer works fine. Deleted all cookies also.
Did you check your security software (firewall)?
A possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or restricts Firefox without informing you about that, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox.

Can anyone help me? I tried redownloading the software and then I even reset safari bet nothing happened when I came home after 3 hours it worked but 30 minutes later I turn it on it does not work.
I use airport.I can't check for upgrades or any new software update, I can't accuss the Internet, and I can't watch what I want. I can't work on my homework, and I can't goof off I tried to look this problem up but no one else seems to have the same problem as me. I think it might have something to do with the server but I am not sure of to deal with it. I can't fix it on my own but even if I tried I think I would mess it up even more.
