My iPad switched to German while I was synching it to my computer. How do i get it back to English?
Setttings > General > International > Language > English / Region Format
If it is the keyboard: Settings > General > Keyboard > International Keyboard > English

One day the touch screen changed into german,,how do I get it back to English. I tried doing what the book said, by pushing top right button and then the middle and bottom on the right. but they never lit up..and it is in german so not sure if I was on right screen to start.Try clicking once on the iSync icon, then choosing "Get Info" from the "File" menu.
Then, click the little triangle alongside "Languages" and see if English is available and selected.
If it's not there, you'll have to re-install iSync from your original Mac OS X 10.4 Install DVD, then re-install the 10.4.8 Combo updater.

My iSync is in German How do I get it back to English?
After downloading and installing the PPC combined update to 10.4.8, iSync and only iSync appears in German!
Everything else seems fine. I trashed com.apple.isync.registry.plist and com.apple.isync.plist with no change even after restart. Any suggestions?

I have restored my Apple TV and its now in German, how do i get it back to English?
Press the menu button on the remote several times to make sure you are on the main screen.
Navigate to the menu on the far right hand side of the top row (not including the row of artwork)
Select the first option in that menu.
Scroll down the next menu that appears and choose the 6th option from the bottom.
Select your language from the list available. -

I just bought 2 ipads and they both start in some sort of chinese or oriental language--both text showing on screen and voice. Really????? And guess what? Not a ******* word written in the pack on how to change it.
Oh, and the instructions to go to settings and change the language??? HelloOOO. It is still on some funky start up screen with a million version of the word welcome, but not a clue as to how to change anything related to language.
And to really make my day, the 'express' online support requests a serial number which you get AFTER you can login and check settings.
Can anyone who speaks chinese please tell me what symbols to look for on buttons to click to get to the freaking setup screen?

We upgraded our ipad to io6 while in Moscow Russia and now when we go to the app store everything is in Russian. How do we get things back to English?
Maybe Apple should put that in the small print beside the "Install Update" button.
I already tracked down the http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2371
information and did it and it did not work. I did that BEFORE I found the info on going to the bottome of the page and making sure the little flag was a USA flag, which it already was.
Neither of these things fixed the problem.
I will gladly try (with great appreciation) Anything that anybody has to suggest.
Will "Set to Default" get me back to USA since we are back in USA or will it change additional to Russian? What all will "Set to Default" change? -

I have the same problem! Let me know if you manage to sort it out. My iPad did the same thing but to full restore from iTunes sorted that out. Have you tried that? No such luck with my iPhone.

Thank you. I was having the same problem (registration was in English and then the Chinese screen appeared). Reseting the iPad solved this problem for me.
I unplugged the iPad from the computer and then held down the menu and wake button at the same time until the unit reset (the screen goes black and then the white apple logo reappears). I plugged the iPad back into the computer and the screen was in English.
If anyone is curious about the screen before I reset here is what it said:

Please check in Settings: General: Keyboard: International Keyboards how many there are and which.
If there is more than one you can either delete the ones that you don't use, or if you want to type on different ones at different times you can change between them using the key with a world that appears when you are using the keyboard. -
