Sorry i am just responding, I had to find out from the shop where I purchased the IPhone if it was jail broken and I ve now confirmed that it was not jail broken.
What could possibly be done?

It isn't in the device pane. If you have selected your iPhone, then on the right side you should see information on what is contained on your iPhone. There should be a number of tabs towards the top, Summary, Info, Music, Photos, etc. Not necessarily in that order. On the Info tab is where you should find the tab. It should look like this.

HT201263 my iphone 5 screen has gone black, and when i plug it into itunes it says we have discovered a iphone in recovery mode, then when i try to restore it it just says waiting for iphone and doesnt get anywhere else. ny clue on how i can fix this prob

when i upgraded my iphone to the new update My iphone 5 screen went completely black and has been like it for 2 days. I have tried holding home and lock,I have tried holding lock and the volume, and I have tried holding just the volume, it still just stays black.
When i plugged it into my Mac the apple logo comes up on the iphone screen. and then on the computer it says itunes has detected an iphone in recovery mode. you must restore this iphone before it can be used with itunes. (as in the below pictures)
when i click ok to restore it just says waiting for iphone (as in the other photo below). i left it in for 20minutes and still said the same thing.
after that i tried unplugging the iphone and it just went back to being a black screen again if anyone has any idea please please help me, thank you.

If the old ID is yours, and if your current ID was created by editing the details of this old ID (rather than being an entirely new ID), go to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID. Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change. Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address. You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iDevice, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then save any photo stream photos that you wish to keep to your camera roll. When finished go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud). If your Apple ID was changed from your old account, you may have to change it back to your old account to be able to sign out and then change it back after that is done. Take a look at the article below for more information.

Let's try a standalone Apple Mobile Device Support install. It still might not install, but fingers crossed any error messages will give us a better idea of the underlying cause of why it's not installing under normal conditions.
Download and save a copy of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe) installer file to your hard drive:

Download and install the free trial version of WinRAR:
http://www.rarlab.com/
Right-click the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe), and select "Extract to iTunesSetup" (or "Extract to iTunes64Setup"). WinRAR will expand the contents of the file into a folder called "iTunesSetup" (or "iTunes64Setup").
Go into the folder and doubleclick the AppleMobileDeviceSupport.msi (or AppleMobileDeviceSupport64.msi) to do a standalone AMDS install.
(If it offers you the choice to remove or repair, choose "Remove", and if the uninstall goes through successfully, see if you can reinstall by doubleclicking the AppleMobileDeviceSupport.msi again.)
Does it install (or uninstall and then reinstall) properly for you? If so, can you get a normal iTunes install to go through properly now?

lol the person you talked to at Apple was not very bright.
Of course you can have sent items in your mail on the iPhone 4. I have mine there all the time.
Sounds like you might have issues with the software.
I recommend trying a reset, send email and see if that goes to the sent items directory
If not do a restore.

USB Mac drive FileVault encrypted - does not accepted the Password

I've got the following problem:
I bought an external USB hard disk (Seagate GoFlex 320GB) and configured it on my iMac (3.4GHZ, 16 GB Ram) with Mac OS Extended (Journaled, encrypted), formatted it & did a partition layout.
This hard disk worked without any problems on iMac, MBP and MB Air. I could copy data onto it and access it without problems. Unfortunately, last week, I connected this USB hard disk to my MBP (Generation 2012 with Mac OS Lion 10.4.7) - and the MBP crashed totally and I had to fully reboot it. Since this coincident I can't access my USB hard disk --> it does not accept/ take my password anymore - no matter where I connect & try (iMac, MBP, MB Air…)
In short words - the MAC's recognize the USB disk & the "enter password" sign appears on the screen - I then enter the correct password (no doubt!) - but the USB hard disk does not accept it & in the disk utilities program I can't make any changes either (no removal of the password, no changes of the password, no decryption,…etc.)
As the data on this USB hard drive are extremely important (I need them more than urgent!) - could you please help me with a solution to this issue?

In my report , I have a condition in the query
and a.created_by =apps.fnd_profile.value('USER_ID')
When the report is submitted as a request , it works fine., however the same report when called from the self service page does not accept any value for apps.fnd_profile.value('USER_ID') .
Is there a workaround to handle this problem.

I had already tried the option apps.fnd_global.USER_ID too.
However it does not accept the value for apps.fnd_global.USER_ID.
We want to call the reports in SSHR using oaf and at the same time the records that are pending for approval created by the employee should only be visible.

Have you tried turning off automatic transitions ? Choose file - project properties and follow the dialogue box to change duration with a slider. iMovie also doesn't allow a transition to be more than 50% duration of the clip its attached to. In other words if the clip is 4 seconds the transition cannot be more than 2 seconds and remember that relates to the first clip as the following clip (right side) is pulled back to overlay it.

no, and i have spent my entire spring break with a dead iphone 4s, no access to my iphone mail accounts, can't get into my text service app, and can't get into notes. oh yeah, all of my music is gone. thanks a bunch for this wonderful upgrade.

one of the apple forums said that iox is "expanvie" and gave us tips on how to lengthen battery life. i was already doing all that stuff. so it seemed to me that apple was just taking the stand that ios is just more "expansive." this is lipservice hogwash. if that is the case, then we need to get new phones with batteries strong enough to accommodate running these power apps and updates.
my iphone makes a **** good coaster though. right now i am just ready to start sending smoke signals!
