If my IPhone 5c is not working and I have to trade it for a new phone can I get a 5s or do I have to trade it in for another 5c?

A warranty or out of warranty replacement through Apple will be for the same model, same capacity, same colour.

  • Re: "How do I add a device to Firefox Sync?" There is no link for add new device.

The code for the new device is some 21 alpha numeric characters long. Only a few of the characters fit in the three boxes -- they do not all fit.

The sync key is 26 characters and needs to be entered on the account page (I don't have the device), but if you have the code supplied by another device then you only have a code of 12 characters.

  • HT2731 If you are setting up a new apple ID for a new device and another device has one on the computer already how do u share?

If there is a device already with an apple ID that is different from the new device shared on the same computer, how do u manage both, or rather set up two itunes accounts?

Thank you Lawrence, I know how it all works.
I'm pretty sure if I need to use Find My Phone I can log in from any device into that stupid cloud as long as I have activated it on the phone first. Sometimes I do use that method when traveling but not for daily use.
We can share our iTunes products easily between the phones on both the computers.
I don't trust the cloud. You may feel free to do so but I won't and I won't buy a basic phone because of my mistrust. Although the stupid cloud claims your data is secure or encrypted etc, it's a database. Period. One giant database and SOMEONE has to have access to the information UNENCRYPTED to manage, restore etc. There ARE master users or whatever you want to call them and I'm sorry, I just don't trust. I also have a stalker and because of that I am extra cautious. Don't worry, he's already facing two felony charges and trying to worm out of a jail sentence.
My cell phone and internet provider promised me security and my email addresses have been sold to the highest paying spammer and I get HUNDREDS of spam emails daily. For the first two years I was spam free. Didn't even see that crap in my junk folder but the last 5 years it's increasing daily. Now how does that happen? Unscrupulous employees is my guess. Especially since I do not use my regular email address for things I know will generate spam. I'm very cautious of my privacy online. Very.
Thank you for believing iCloud is safe but you did hear about all those celebrities whose photos were hacked and stolen from iCloud, didn't you? THIS is (one of many reasons) why the cloud can't be trusted.

  • I have the 1st generation ipod touch is there anyway that apple will trade it for the new ipod touch even if i have to put in a little money myself like some trade in credit or somthing?

I have the 1st generation ipod touch looking to trade for the new ipod touch or someone to give me money for the new ipod touch

There is no trade in program.
You can sell to to someone.
Apple has a recycling program where they will give you 10% off of a new ipod if your bring in your old one.

  • I have the very first iPod Nano, and it doesn't work anymore. Can I recycle it or trade it for a newer one?

I got this iPod a really long time ago. And when I pluged it into my computer it doesn't unlock and it doesn't let me turn it off or anything.
I've tried to do the iPod replacement but it says that my iPod isn't a part of it. But my friend has the same kind of iPod as mine and it went through.
Can I trade it in or recycle it for a newer one?

The Problem With Your Ipod Is That It Is Not Unlocked , To Unlock It You Have To Install Itunes And Plug It Into Your Computer , Then It Will Be Automatically unlocked .
No, You Cannot Recycle Your Ipod Because Ipod Nano 1G does Not Include in the recycling Program

  • Won a brand new iPad 2 on the radio in the US, can I trade in for the New iPad??

I won a brand new iPad 2 on a local radio station here in southern California.  When I get the call to pick it up, will apple allow me to upgrade it to the New iPad? My son won one too about 10 months ago, so I know it's sealed in the regular retail packaging.

To get the highest trade-in value, you're probably better off selling it yourself, but I am pretty sure the Apple store will accept it as a trade-in, esp. if you haven't opened the package yet. Other electronics stores might also do a trade in for you too. The best way to find out is to call the stores in your area to ask.

  • I have an old account I no longer use associated with me email and I want to use email for my new devices.

I want to delete my old apple is so. Can use email for my new account.

You can't delete an account, all you can do is remove any personal info from it and stop using it - but any content that you bought/downloaded with it will remain tied to that account.
If you want to use its email address on a new account then you can try logging into it and change its email address to something else so that you can try using it on your new account (I haven't tried it, but I think that it should work) : http://appleid.apple.com

  • Can I trade an older device for a newer device?

I currently have an iPod 4th gen. and I was just curious if I could trade it in for maybe like a store credit towards a newer 5th gen. iPod?

Apple will only give you a 10% recycling discount if you turn in an old iPod when you purchase a new one. Better off selling it yourself.

  • IPod nano 1st gen trade in for a newer one?

    Hi,
I have heard something along the lines of if you trade in you old 1st generation ipod, you can get a newer one for free. A friend of mine did it. However, I have called a couple of Apple stores near my location and they said they are not doing that program. Can anyone point me in the right direction?
    Thanks

  • My iPhone won't turn on and I'm bringing it into apple tomorrow. it is cracked. am i still eligible for a trade in for a new phone?

I can hear (example: can hear screen shot) but I can not see anything on the screen. I have had people call me, and I can hear that, but I can not answer. This all started when I opened a link I had on my phone. After opening the link, the screen turned white. After this, I put my phone to sleep for about 10 seconds. After this it will not turn on. I'm brining it into apple tomorrow, but I am unaware if I am still elligible to get a new phone. The only damage is that the back is cracked. If anyone can answer my question, it would be a big help.

You need to ask the personnel at the Apple Store.  Their call is the final call on the matter.  Don't go in with false expectations and risk looking like an idiot because of something you were told by strangers on the internet.

  • "How to Upgrade a new PC to Windows 10" (OOBE experience for a new device)

A short video from Microsoft illustrating the few simple steps required to upgrade your new PC system to Windows 10

Any in place upgrade is ever simple. Even some clean install have problem.Getting all the right drivers for machine specific module is also key. Is Lenovo going to package a set of tested drivers to setup current models to factory built spec's or are we left to figure it out on our own? My Z70-80 is two weeks old and I won't be jumping on until some time after the RTM release. I don't know at this time if a Bood CD for image recovery would work under the existing UFIE configuration either. I don't see any mention of what effect the multiple hidden factory partitions currently on my system will be. Useless after upgrade, unused space or what. ONEKEY Recovery uses some of them currently. We need more support from Lenovo then a MS Upgrade video which over simplifies a more complex set of issues.

  • IWork for iPhone 5 free (after buying a new device)

Hi, (I'm german please don't blame my englisch )
I bought my iphone 5 a year ago on its release date. Now I heard iWork (Pages. Numbers. Keynote.) is for free but only for devices which are only currently aktivated in September 2013. I understand the face that Apple only want to give those Apps to new devices.
Now my question I want to buy an iPad of the younger generation, maybe iPad Air or the new iPad mini. When i activate the device are those apps for free? and if they are, only for the new device? or for all the devices? It would be cool to know
    Thanks ahead for your replies!
    With kind regards

Those are universal apps. Once you own them, you can install them on any iOS device you own.

  • Problem attaching our driver to our new device

    Hello,
We have a driver for Solaris Sparc 9, 10, 11. It supports various
PCI and PCI express devices of ours with different PCI ID values.
When we are installing the driver, we do
    add_drv -m "* 0666 root sys" -i '"pci1234,5678" "pci1357,2468"' mydriver
I have changed the device ID values and driver name to protect the innocent.
This has always worked just fine. Recently we added another device with
another PCI ID very similar to another on the list. Unfortunately,
attach never gets called for the devices of this type. Attach will get
called for devices of the other type if they are present. I know whether
it is being called due to logging being done right at the beginning
    of our attach function.
So I am trying to figure out why this is happening.
All the correct entries are in /etc/driver_aliases.
prtconf -v shows "(driver not attached)" next to the ID of the device.
prtconf -D shows "(driver name: mydriver)" next to the ID of the device.
    Thanks,
    Nathan

I managed to figure out what our driver issue was, having to do with an error occurring in our probe function for the new device. So I no longer need any assistance with this issue. Thanks.
