HT4972 Unable to update iPhone 4 to latest version
My daughter was given a iPhone 4 that was completely reset. It has 13GB of space but will not support certain apps without updating at least to IOS 6. I had to back up and sync with my PC and was able to connect and start downloading to IOS 7; however when the process was completed an error message was displayed stating it was unable to update the phone....epic fail! We are using wi-fi, I noticed that question asked in other inquires while searching for an answer. What do we need to do to at least update this phone to a version that will support Instagram app? Thanks!

HT5868 Unable to sync iPhone 5 with latest version of iTunes
Since updating to version 11.1.4 of iTunes, I am unable to sync my iPhone 5 with my PC. When connecting to the PC, I get a message asking whether I want to trust this computer. Since I've synced with it about a hundred times already, obviously I clicked on Trust.
After clicking on Trust, my PC is able to access the photos/etc on the phone - but iTunes will not sync. Further, it does not remember that I have selected to Trust the PC. (I also opted to Not Trust one time, and it didn't remember that either.)
My PC is running Windows 8, but it was perfectly happy to sync my iPhone 5 before this latest iTunes update, which seems to have broken something pretty fundamental. Apple, please issue a fix, or alternatively let me go back to 11.1.3 (which was working absolutely fine for me).Did I suggest that you were Apple? Do you believe that every comment mentioning an Apple product is aimed at you personally? Or that, if someone sounds off in a moment of frustration, it is directed at you? Or that you need to point out interminably that Apple don't actually monitor these threads? Because, if you do... get help!

Unable to update Java to the latest version
When I try to update Java, when I get to 'Close Programs to Continue', one of the programs I am told I need to close is 'Start'. Doing this means I have to restart Windows 7. The problem is that the Java installation doesn't resume after I've done this.
Presumably, one of the processes that starts up with Windows uses Java, but I've got no idea which one. I've tried ending various processes in Task Manage, but this doesn't help.
Has anybody got any suggestions, please?

I wentr through them all yesterday and nothing seemed to work. However my computer crashed a couple of times since and it appears to be working now.

Check the hosts file. The restore will fail if there is an active entry to redirect gs.apple.com. Follow iTunes: Advanced iTunes Store troubleshooting to edit the hosts file or revert to a default hosts file. See section "Blocked by configuration: (Mac OS X/Windows) > Rebuild network information".
Try to restore from another known-good computer and network.
If the errors persist on another computer, the device may need service. -

How can I contact Viber support? When I go to their website there's no such thing as 'email us' or 'contact us'.

While the iOS updates aren't designed to erase your information, it is always a good idea to back up your information just in case the process doesn't go too smoothly. Tried to update iPhone 5 to latest OS. When I looked at the phone a while later, the screen was dark except for the iTunes icon in the middle of the screen and another icon showing the charger cable and an arrow point to the iTunes icon. Now I'm bricked out of the phone. When I hold down the power button after the screen goes completely dark, the Apple logo appears, then the iTunes icon I described.

The error message is talking about storage space in your iPhone not on iCloud which is what you bought.
You are going to have to clean up space on your iPhone by removing files from it. Good candidate for removal are music and photos.

Do you have the correct iOS 5 file downloaded? Go here: http://www.iclarified.com/entry/index.php?enid=750 and make sure you download the correct .ipsw for your iPhone. If your iPhone 4 is on AT&T (or uses a SIM), it is GSM. If it is on Verizon, it is CDMA. You must download 5.1.1. at this time.
Once that is downloaded, save it to your desktop. Open iTunes with your device connected. Go to the device menu and find Restore. Hold down ALT while clicking Restore, and choose the correct file (the one you just downloaded). Back up your phone first if you don't want to lose data.
If you have any more trouble, report back here with an error code (if possible), or simply a screenshot of the error message. -
It seems that i have to redownload the whole 800+ MB of the update file again when i want to update my friend's iphone through my itunes, I've updated MY iphone to the latest version after very very long hours of download, and i tried updating a 2nd friend's iphone and it was very fast as the file has already been downloaded, but this problem occurs when i want to update a 3rd friend's iphone, can someone help?
