HT4972 What's causing my iphone 4s touch pad to keep freezing ??

If anyone can help...my iphone 4s touch pad is freezing up alot. A shutdownt helps, but I find its requiring me to power down more often each day...
Thanks

Basic troubleshooting from the User's Guide is reset, restart, restore (first from backup then as new).  Has any of this been tried?

  • What would cause my iphone 5 (9months old) screen  to bow out by the volume buttons? - never been dropped

I purchased my iPhone new in November. Recently it has been shutting itself off at random times. Registering that it needed to be charged although it had 50 -80% left on the battery. It was pointed out that the screen is bowing out by the volume buttons. After doing some research online it looks like an expanding battery. Has any one else ran into this problem?  What would cause this?

    hi,
i would go to the genius bar, thats definitely not a common problem with the iphone.
but lithium accus are known for such problems (e.g. model flight), they can expand when there is something not working well.

  • What would cause 16ghz iphone 4 to reboot at random times?

what would cause my 16ghz iphone 4 to randomly reboot without warning? it also fails to save pictures some of the time.

I am having this same exact problem with my iPhone 4. It plays "9 to 5 - Dolly Parton" (funny I know) at random times. Sometimes at start up, when using camera, when plugging in charger or car charger, or for just no reason at all. I am still in the first 30 days of owning the phone so I will be taking it to AT&T tomorrow.

  • What does it mean if my Mac Pro laptop keeps freezing?

My laptop has been freezing a lot lately; especially locks up when using Microsoft applications (word, excel) but also freezes when online.  What would cause this?

It's rather difficult with the information provided, it could be network related issue, a router issue, a Mac issue or a software issue.
Your going to have to procced in a process of elimination to try to narrow down the cause.
Can you further describe the freezing? Do you get a spinning beachball only on the Internet or if totally disconnected too?

  • What Apps cause Persistent Wifi on Touch with 4.1?

I have been reading a lot of posts that certain apps cause persistent wifi with the 4.1. (When the Touch wakes up, the wifi is already connected.) This is the case with my touch. Which apps are causing the problem??? I have a boatload of apps and it would take forever to limit it one by one to find the offenders.
I have the game center off. This issue is related to the terrible battery life I have now and the need to turn off all the notifictaion and push features that I can no longer use.

I would start with just a few apps and see what happens. Then add a few more at a time.

  • What would cause my Iphone 4 to freeze up when it gets cold?

Whenever my iphone 4 is in an enviroment that is below 50* F it goes unresponsive. Any ideas that would cause that?

Thats still within the 32-95*F operating range. Just try a hard reset and see if it still freezes. Hold both power and home buttons until the apple logo appears (ignore the power off slider).

  • What is caused my iPhone 4 to vibrate non-stop for 5 minutes?

I tried to reboot the phone but it just stayed black and vibrating.

Try a restore as new, see if the issue resolves itself.
If not, then it would be time to take it to Apple for evaluation.

  • My iPod Touch generation 2 keeps freezing up

It's a generation two, cracked screen and cracked near the home button.  I got it off ebay and when I got it, the button at the top of the screen didn't work very well, but well enough to get along.  For the past month, it has been randomly freezing up whereever it wants and none of the buttons will work(not even when I hold the home button and lock button together).  I've never gotten water in/on it(other than a drop before the screen broke, but that was only on the screen, so no damage there).
For the past four days, it's frozen every single day, usually in the morning, therefor, I couldn't do anything with it for the rest of the day, and it won't work when I plug it in or put it on the charger or anything.  It's even frozen in the middle of a song at one time and kept playing the song until it ended, but the volume wouldn't work or anything.
It's also an 8GB and I have 600+ songs and 200+ pictures, 2 videos, and barely any apps.
Will apple trade it in for a new one if I haven't traded one in before or any ideas how to fix it(cheaply?)
    Thank you~

Yu can see if a reset will alloiTunes to see the iPod so yo can get stuff off.
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Otherwise I know of not way.
    - You can try regaining use of the iPod restoring the iPod. Try placing the iPod in
    Recovery mode and then restore.
You can also try using this program to get the iPod in recovery mode without using the buttons.

  • My iphone 4S 64gb factory unlocked keep freezing when running especially the music and photo app; and it keep rebooting itself after every total battery drain; i'm on ios 5.1

i upgraded to the ios 5.1; and i realized that each time i have a comple battery drain and the phone goes off; when i connect the iphone to charge; it keeps rebooting itself. And the phone freezes when in the middle of applications; i have to stop the app and start it several times before it works; i have an iphone 4S 64gb factory unlocked

At first drain the battery till the iPhone gets off for many times isnt really a good thing read this:
    http://www.apple.com/batteries/
after that I think the only way that will help you is restore the iPhone and the bad news are that you should do it without restore a backup after cause you're problem could be saved in the backup of the phone too so you must manually reinstall apps, preferences etc etc

I do notable what to do. I have my 4th generation iPod touch(64gb) and I'm not allowed to do certain things on certain apps. For example every time I use "Tweegram" it freezes and then either I force reboot it or I reboots by itself 3 mins later. On "KiK" I can't search user names. On "Crackle" I can't get past the fort advertisement. Please help me. I tried deleting and re-downloading and it doesn't work. Every time I reboot it, it just does it again. I quit the apps and then reboot but I'm still encountering the same problems. HELP PLEASE.

  • My ipod touch 5th gen, keeps freezing whenever i put it on a dock

I recently bought the Ipod toouvh 5th gen. I got a dock for it but after about 5 minute of using it, it would make a weird noise and my screen would me frozen. This happened a couple times causing us to return the dock thinking that was the problem. I then bought another one and when I used it my ipod would freeze on a song that was playing for exactly 2 minutes and 30 seconds, but its working fine now. Should I be worried? What should I do?

First let's find out whether the prob is with with the iOS or with the hardware itself.
Try a simple restart (Hold Power+Home for 10 secs till the logo appears)
If the above fails, try a full restore. (Make a backup)

  • IPod touch 5th Gen keeps freezing

Yesterday I was using my iPod and it suddenly wouldn't turn on.  My Home button has been broken for at least 6 months, so I use the Sleep/Power button to turn the screen off and on.  Suddenly it wasn't responding.  Luckily, the iPod was almost dead so I let it die and that reset it.  Today, it has done it again.  I don't know where this is coming form but I use my iPod for most of my daily life, being on the movie most of my day and having to answer emails on the fly.  I do not know what to do to fix this.  I can't do a hard reset because of the lack of Home button.  This has happened once before, months ago.  Is it an iOS issue?  Or is it something else?  I can't afford to replace my iPod right now but it's well past the expiration date for the warranty.  Thank you!

If you restored to factory settings/new iPod via iTunes and still the problem that indicates a hardware problem besides the Home button. Repair or replacement is required.
    If necessary
    Turn on without Home/Power Button
