Why do either of them require IOS 4 or 5 and why can't Itouch V2 update to IOS 4 or 5 operating systems?

1. The developer stopped supporting older iOS versions.
2. A second generation iPod touch can be updated to iOS 4.2.1 but doesn't have enough RAM to run iOS 4.3 or newer.

Hello. I was recently outside for a good tournament for 6 hours. After about 3 hours my iPod got extremely hot. I had a cooler with a n ice pack inside and I thought it would cool it down. So I put it in their and forgot about it but I took it out after I remembered it. But it got hot again and I did the same thing. But this time it was in there closer. And today I tried taking a picture of myself and the forward camera doesn't open and it goes back to the camera facing away from me. And snap chat doesn't work either now. I don't know if the two are tied together or not. Any help will be much appreciated.

Try:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost

least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
- Restore from backup. See:

- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

Why won't combined AND statement work

I want to exclude records based on two criteria's: status = 'M' and the status reason = 52.
The table contains records with status = 'M' and status reason other than 52.
Also the table contains records with status other than 'M' and status reason = 52 and I want to include those records.
I first tried using the statement below reasoning that placing the two criteria's in parenthesis would combine them and only exclude records with M 52
Where (nvl(Status_CD,'A') <> 'M' AND nvl(STATUS_RESN_CD,0) <> 52 )
However the query removed all records with Status_CD 'M' and all records with Status_Resn_CD 52.
Using the Where Not statement worked.
Where Not (External_Status_CD = 'M' and EXT_STAT_RESN_CD = 52 )
I’m curious why the first statement didn’t work?
Can anyone explain why the first query didn't combine the 2 statements but a Where Not did?

Another way of looking at it:
The condition (x AND y) will be TRUE when both x AND y are TRUE.
If
sub-condition x is    nvl (Status_CD, 'A') <> 'M'   and
sub-condition y is nvl (STATUS_RESN_CD, 0) <> 52
then any row with status_cd = 'M' fails sub-condition x, therefore the compound condition is FALSE, regardless of status_resn_cd.
Likewise, and row with status_resn_cd=52 fails sub-condition y, so the compound condition is FALSE regardless of status_cd.
You used status_cd and status_resn_cd in one example; but
EXTERNAL_status_cd and EXT_stat_resn_cd in the other. That's quite confusing. Also, you'll confuse everyone (including yourself) if status is abbreviated as stat in some places but not in others. Either way is okay, but be consistent. The same goes for abbreviating external as ext; pick one or the other, and use the same word in all places.
Don't forget to check for NULLs. If external_status_cd and ext_stat_resn_cd can be NULL, you should say
Where Not (    NVL (External_Status_CD, 'A') = 'M'
          and NVL (EXT_STAT_RESN_CD,    0) = 52
depending on your requirements.

Thanks .Ralph. The problem is only on the iPad 2only. I have an iPad 1 as well and it never had the problem. The only videos that I have tried are you tube and the tutorials on apple.com. I have absolutely no problem on either of my laptops or desktop PC's. Only the iPad 2. I am a new Apple user, so not very familiar yet with the product, but this is an absolute deal breaker for me. With Apple's reputation I was not expecting any such problems and it is beyond my skill set to solve it. Very frustrating. Again, no problem with you tube videos. I don't watch movies, so am not a Netflix member and haven't tried that yet, only you tube videos and apple.com tutorial videos. I have to watch those on my laptop. Again, I found a fix to the you tube problem. It was a link to a site. www.youtube/html5. html5 video player trial that you click on and once done, the videos on the you tube app started working great. They were doing the same thing as the tutorial videos prior to that. No such luck with the other web videos, at least the ones that i have tried. Hope this is enough info and understandable. You might check out the html5 site. I didn't thoroughly understand why, but it worked. You may understand it better. I am a proficient user, but far from an I.t. Pro. I have read Many posts with similar problems, but no simple solutions and the ones I did try didn't work. Speed tested well. Channel is set to auto and always different than neighboring networks, usually channel 11. Tried disabling QOS as suggested....no good. I am completely stumped. Any help is greatly appreciated. Ok I had this problem, and for me at least what happened was that not all the album artwork was attached to all songs on the album. So if you right click one of the albums you are having an issue with, the click artwork tab, and go through each song on the album, if it is missing from any of them it will not sync properly to any device. Find the songs that have the artwork, and then right click to copy it, then go to songs without it, and right click in the blank box and paste it in there. Then once finished with any issues you are having sync iPod, this should fix the problem. It worked for me, and it was unbelievably frustrating to know I have the artwork, but it wasn't showing up anywhere on the iPod. Hopefully this fixes the issue for you, like it did for me!

I went to lock my iPod and my lock button won't work. I can't even push it down, it's like stuck down in the hole but it won't pop back up. Everything works fine but I have to wait for it to auto-lock everytime I want to turn it off. Why won't the button pop back up?

It looks like you have a hardware issue. I don't know why the button doesn't pop up, but You can enable assistive touch. Assistive touch gives you a virtual lock button, so that will solve you problem. You can enable it by going to Settings->General->Accessibillity->AssistiveTouch->On.

You do not have to load the airport utility.. a newer version is already included on the computer.
Just go to the applications / utility directory and start airport utility.
