HT4993 Does sprint applecare for my iphone 4s cover lost phone.

I just purchased the phone last week

No. It's an extended warranty. Not insurance against loss or theft.

  • No Applecare for the iPhone in the Netherlands (Holland)

I was wondering if anyone could tell me exactly why Apple does not provide Applecare for the iPhone in the Netherlands (Holland). I have had very great (actually amazing) help with Apple via Applecare for all their products I have purchased (past and present), yet when dealing with a recent iPhone problem, I have had terrible support from (the affiliates) of T-Mobile (the official mobile provider for the iPhone in the Netherlands). Hence, if I could, I would purchase Applecare for my iPhone in a split-second. But, as said, it isn't available here in Holland for some reason.
    Does anyone know exactly why?
(P.S. Applecare employees in Holland are more than welcome to help answer this question!

Apple do not answer such questions here - and their staff wouldn't even do so at a personal level.
It will be as a result of a licencing agreement with the local carrier in all probability.

Thanks Peter.  I thought about that and had discounted the idea but since I am only 30 minutes away from my A store, I think I'll give it a try. I can be charming specially when I wear clean jeans and a nice top. :-)

  • How long does it take for an iphone 5s to go from preparing to ship to shipped?

How long does it take for an iphone 5s to go from preparing to ship to shipped. I ordered my iphone on sept 20 6:00 pm and right next to the "preparing to ship" it still says 7-10 days and apple already took the money out of my account?

Apple.com has notoriously given very accurate assessments of their ship dates.  Keep checking back there for updates.  The place to look is in the Store ... find the "Account" button near the upper right.

  • There was no way to order AppleCare for the iPhone 5 using the online AppleStore to have it activated automatically. Am I missing something?

There was no way to order AppleCare for the iPhone 5 using the online AppleStore to have it activated automatically. Am I missing something?

I must have missed the option to add AppleCare+ to my iPhone 5 pre-order, too.  Fortunately, I was able to obtain confirmation from an Apple representative that AppleCare+ can still be added to a new iPhone 5 within 30 days of the device's ship date.
    My iPhone 5 Ordering Situation:
Successfully submitted pre-order at 2:05am CST
Realized I did not add AppleCare+
Tried to add it as a separate product
Unable to add AppleCare+ after submiting pre-order
    This Morning:
I just got off the phone with an Apple representative.  He assured me that, once my iPhone 5 arrives on September 21, I will be able to: 1) call 1-800-MY-APPLE and have AppleCare+ added to my iPhone 5;  2) go into an Apple Retail Store and have AppleCare+ added to my iPhone 5.  He said I would have thirty days from my device's ship date (September 21) to add AppleCare+ to it.  He also recommended that, if I wanted to have AppleCare+ added at an Apple Retail Store, I should make an appointment as soon as possible.  Because I was still concerned something might go wrong, the Apple representative emailed me a copy of my case number to use as a reference in case I have any issues obtaining AppleCare+ on September 21.
    Caveats & More Information:
I ordered through the Apple Store app on my iPhone 4
I live in the United States
    My carrier is AT&T
I have a case number and repeated assurances from an Apple representative
While your situation may differ from mine I do hope you're able to add AppleCare+ to your iPhone 5 once it arrives, either by calling 1-800-MY-APPLE or by making an appointment at your nearest Apple Retail Store.
    Best Wishes,
    Dylan

  • Applecare+ for their iPhone 5

Anyone able to order Applecare+ for their iPhone 5?  I did not see it as an option.

AppleCare+ seems a better value to me than Asurion protection.
For 100, you get protection for two years - two incidents at a cost of $50 per incident. (No theft coverage)
Asurion is 9.99  per month, with a deductible of $199 - but includes theft coverage.
I never let someone have the opportunity to steal my phone, but I have dropped it in the toilet before. AppleCare+ is the coverage for me.

  • HT4528 applecare for verizon iphone

I just purchased an iphone through Verizon, and was wondering how to extend the warranty coverage.

Purchase AppleCare Plus...must be done within 30 days of original purchase...go to an Apple store. Apple has discontinued regular AppleCare for the iPhone.

  • Have not warranty or applecare for new iphone 5. What do I do?

I recently purchased an Iphone 5 through AT&T in USA. However I need to cancel my service as I will be returning to Australia much ealier than expected. I did not purchase applecare for my iphone. And if I am correct I do not have a 1 year warranty on this phone with Apple since I purchased it through AT&T. So thus I have no warranty and can no longer purchase applecare since it has been more then 30 days of purchasing the phone.
So what can I do to safeguard my phone from technical issues (such as faulty hardware etc)? Or if its screws up is there nothing I can do?

First off, yes you still have the default Apple one year warranty, no matter who you bought it from.  That warranty however, is NOT international, so you may not get any help in Australia with hardware issues no matter what.
If you are leaving the USA, then you will need to terminate your AT&T contract.  Once you have paid your final bill and all early termination fees, and BEFORE you leave the USA, you can ask AT&T to unlock it for you.
see http://www.att.com/esupport/article.jsp?sid=KB414532&cv=820&_requestid=556824#fb id=tJgmtz6tKru and the link to the online form at the bottom to request the unlock.
They will email you when the unlock is ready, then restore in iTunes and you should get a screen at the end confirming it is now unlocked.
An option then would be to sell it here in the USA (an unlocked phone 5 should still be highly valuable to many folks), and then buy a new one when you get back home - then you will have a valid warranty there.

Yes, I think most of us do understand what open source software is. It sounds as if you don't. Here's some information:
Open-source software (OSS) is computer software that is available in source code form: the source code and certain other rights normally reserved forcopyright holders are provided under an open-source license that permits users to study, change, improve and at times also to distribute the software.
Open source software is very often developed in a public, collaborative manner. Open-source software is the most prominent example of open-sourcedevelopment and often compared to (technically defined) user-generated content or (legally defined) open content movements.

Yes, Tom Wu of Stanford wrote a paper on something called Secure Remote Access Protocol. It's a form of Asymetric Key Exchange and has nothing to do with hacking anything. It's actually intended to protect data.

  • Applecare for the Iphone

Is the Applecare for $69 worth it for the phone. What exactly does it cover?

AppleCare Protection Plan for iPhone 4 (Available from Verizon Wireless Retail locations, Customer Service, Telesales, and vzw.com or directly from Apple) is $69.97. The coverage is for two years.
AppleCare Protection Plan provides advance troubleshooting and assistance with iPad or iPhone 4 features such as iTunes billing, MobileMe setup and use, and other potential App difficulties.
Every iPhone 4 includes Apple's complimentary telephone technical support for 90 days after the purchase date and a one year limited warranty.  Once the 90 days of complimentary telephone support has expired, calls to Apple technical support are $29 per incident. With the AppleCare Protection Plan, after initial registration (instructions provided in-box), complimentary technical telephone support and the limited warranty is extended to two years from the purchase date.
Note: The AppleCare Protection Plan must be purchased within the first year of iPad or two years of iPhone 4 ownership. The AppleCare Protection Plan starts from the purchase date, not the purchase date of AppleCare Protection.
    AppleCare Protection Plan provides:
    Technical Support
    Hardware Coverage
    Software Support
    Direct access to Apple experts
Mail-in service (Apple provides prepaid shipping box)
Carry-in service (to an Apple Retail Store or other Apple authorized iPad / iPhone 4 Service Provider)

  • Applecare+ for Verizon iPhone 4s

There is no provision to purchase Applecare + with a new pre-ordered iPhone 4s on the Verizon site. What provisions will Apple make for those who purchased their 4s this way?
The ordering process puts one in a catch-22: if you attempt to get a Family Plan through the Apple site, you are told that you must purchase your phone at the Apple Store. If you order the phone through Verizon, Applecare+ is not an offered option.
Will Apple make it possible for new Verizon iPhone 4s customers to get the Applecare+ coverage?

After speaking with the tech support person from Apple, I received an email which said:
    "Dear Apple Customer,
Thank you for your recent iPhone purchase at the Apple Online Store.
We would like to let you know that every iPhone comes with one year of
hardware repair coverage through its limited warranty and up to
90 days of complimentary support. AppleCare+ for iPhone extends your
coverage to two years from the original purchase date of your iPhone
and adds up to two incidents of accidental damage coverage, each
subject to a $49 service fee.
We noticed you weren’t given the opportunity to add AppleCare+ to your
iPhone. If you would like to extend your coverage for only $99, please
    reply to this email.
Thank you for shopping with Apple.
    Sincerely,
    Apple Online Store Team"
So I replied to the email and now when I look at my iPhone 4S order, the AppleCare+ package is now included. Has anyone else gotten that email?

  • Why does Epson app for the iphone show a folder that has been deleted from my camera roll?

Why does the Epson app for my iphone 4 show a folder that has been deleted from my camera roll for months now?

Thanks @pdroth. I did a quick Google search of DB indexing. I'm not sure I found exactly what you were referring to but I see where you're going with it. I can understand that indexing my database of stored photos can be time consuming. It's frustrating that the space can't be recognized as being free more quickly.
I notice that some items I delete seem to free up the space much more quickly. Removing an app entirely or deleting from my Music generally shows up as available space in Usage pretty quickly.
Deleting a photo or video from the Camera Roll will take MUCH longer, so I guess that has something to do with the indexing process you are referring to.
I'd like to point out that when I run out of space on an SD card on any budget point and click digital camera that I can quickly delete a picture or two and INSTANTLY be able to take a couple of new photos in their place. I guess I just have that same expectation for the $500+ engineering marvel I have in my hand right now.
    Thanks for chiming in.
