Garmin is sending you to Apple because it is Apple that would have to give you a refund as the actual point of sale. However, Apple states all sales are final.
Apple is sending you to Garmin because it is Garmin's fault their maps are out of date and Apple doesn't write the software. They may not even be looking that deeply and simply perceiving it as a programming "bug" it is up to Garmin to solve.
Who know whose fault it is that Garmin isn't getting up to date data to put in their maps.
Ultimately I think you stand the best chance in getting a refund from Apple though it isn't guaranteed. Apple is the cashier. You just have to convince them this isn't just a line of code omitted from an application and isn't something that will be soon corrected by Garmin. Make it clear it isn't a problem with the application running on your device, it is a problem with the data it contains. Either that or you have to hope Garmin will feel so bad about it they will delve down into their slush fund and send you a refund.

when you opened the shared library with the newer version of iPhoto (iPhoto '11) you were given a warning that your library would be converted and could not be used by older versions - you clicked ok to go ahead - there is no updo available - either upgrade to iphoto '11 of the MBP or load your backup of the iPhoto '09 library on it - older versiopns of i{Photo can not read newer libraries

I've turned off push notifications for certain apps but the push notices still appear. Any idea why?

Apologies if this has been asked before.
My issue is not with notifactions not working, exactly the opposite. I have turned off notifications for several of the apps on my phone, but notifications still appear.
Is this a known problem? The main offender is an app called FreeAppADay.

I got an iPhone 4s and I'm experiencing the same problems. I used facebook messenger, and used to get the push notifications to that app, but now that i've deleted it I no longer get the messages directly to the facebook app.
I have push on in the mail settings and notification center for facebook are on as well. I also have push notifications on in the settings for facebook.
I've tried deleting the app and reinstalling, no fix. I haven't tried a hard reset yet.
So far, I figured out that it's not iOS or the facebook app, somehow it is a problem with my account. I logged into my wife's account on my iphone and her account is able to recieve push notifications to my iphone.
Any thoughts?

You can't reset it. If you don't konw the password then you can't use that backup

Tones is the new name for Ringtones. If the entry is missing in the left-hand column of iTunes then enable it from Edit > Preferences > General tab.
If your existing tones are not syncing properly to your iOS device then uncheck the option to Sync Tones from the Tones tab when the device is connected, sync the device, check the option and sync again.

About a week ago, water got into my headphone jack of my IPhone 4s and it was working fine for a few hours but all of a sudden the screen went black and I can't turn it back on. I put my phone in rice for a few days but the screen is still black.

However, I took some screenshots and when I went to upload the pictures to my Mac, the screenshots uploaded. So I believe my phone still is working but the screen is just not turning on. I tried holding down the home and top button for ten seconds, even longer, but nothing occurred. I am hoping to find a possible solution so I do not have to buy a new phone. Thank you!

The backlight burned out from getting it wet. You will have to replace the screen at a 3rd party shop, buy a screen and replace it yourself, or make a Genius Bar appointment at your nearest Apple Store and do an out-of-warranty replacement for $199 USD.

My Ipod touch recently fell into water, but once dried, it worked with seemingly little to no problems. Today, after working for at least an hour, the screen froze and is now not working, but the sounds are still functioning.

I accidentally dropped my Ipod into the lake, at the beach yesterday, but i caught it early and it wasn't too soaked... i wiped it off for the most part, and most of the buttons and the screen worked fine! i was shocked, and there were a few glitches with the camera and the slide button on the lock screen, but otherwise it was greatly intact! so i gave it a rest, put it in my purse, and picked it up fifteen minutes later, and it was working 100% normally again! when i got home a few hours later, i put it in rice for a few hours, taking it out every once and a while to check my notifications... it still seemed to be working perfectly, so i just set it down out of the rice, assuming the moisture was gone. this morning, again, everything was working normally, no glitches, UNTIL, i opened my instagram app, and the screen froze, and it seemed like it had two separate screens, and i held the Sleep button down until the screen went black... then i tried turning it back on, etc. and it still didn't work, and so i plugged it into the computer, holding down the sleep and home buttons, and itunes identified it as in recovery mode, and started updating. i tried again to press the sleep and home butttons, maybe pressing only the home button, because I heard the Siri noise, as well as the charging sound, but the screen was still black.... i checked my iTunes, and lo and behold, it had identified my iPod, and synced it to the computer, as if it were normally functioning. However, the screen is still not working, and Siri is not working either. The sounds may be the only thing that's functioning. Should i send it in?

I tried to delete the layer attempt again. I am in a Photoshop class, but the work is all online, so all my teacher is going to do is send me to this site. I am trying to edit a photo for this class, and without this working, i go to filter>render>light effects. the bar and panel will pop up for about 2 seconds, then disappear. I was about to suggest resetting LE from the Workspace drop-down top right corner, but if you can't see the Options Bar, I guess that is not going to happen. The normal Tool reset is grey out for LE, so it might be a case of resetting Preferences.

Does the iOS device connect to other networks? If yes that tend to indicate a problem with your network.
Does the iOS device see the network?
Any error messages?
Do other devices now connect?
Did the iOS device connect before?
Try the following to rule out a software problem:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Power off and then back on your router
.- Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings
- iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections
- Wi-Fi: Unable to connect to an 802.11n Wi-Fi network
- iOS: Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points

The way I did it was I got the free app sync:stream from the App Store and then added my ipod to my ps3's Bluetooth devices. Then went to audio settings and set output and input to 'Skaggs iPod' you then open the app and it will be listed under music as a media service. You then go to all tracks and click copy (press triangle) it will then begin to copy all of your songs onto your ps3 via Bluetooth. I haven't tried but I assume the same can be done with photos. Hey Posada143, You can still try the rice thing, but do not expect much, as roaminggnome has stated. The rice only works if you do it ASAP and leave the iPod off-- do not attempt use, turn on or charge until it is completely dried out. This is probably academic at this point but remember this for the next time: The drying can take 10 days. You put the uncooked rice and iPod in a sealed bag, change the rice every couple of days. This creates a low humidity environment and draws the moisture out of the iPod, but it takes time. Turn your iPod on to earlier, and you run the risk of shorting out, damaging the components inside. Even if done correctly it can spotty. If you do get the iPod to work (and this may require Resetting, Restoring or attempting to place it in DFU recover mode) the first thing you do is make backups, because you never know how long it will continue to work. As for your pictures, if you can't get your iPod to work, you can try data retrieval companies, however; there is no guaranty it will work and it tends to be very expensive. In the future get in the habit of as making backups, because you just don't know. And invest in and use a water tight case. Hope this helps, Good luck. Cheers.
