HT4993 IOS7.0.2, lost all my stuff

i just updated my iphone4 to IOS7.0.2 and it forced me to reset it to factory defualts and it restored it to a unrecent backup of which had some of my apps and pics, but when the restore was finished all my apps where gone and all my pictures. how can i get them back

You should be importing all pics taken with the iphone should be imported to your computer regularly, most especially before any update attempt. If for some reason you failed to do this, then the pics are likely gone. Your only chance would be if you can restore from your most recent backup.
All of your apps, music, etc should be on your computer. You should transfer everything purchased from your phone regularly, particularly before any update attempt. If you failed to do this, then you will have to redownload them.

You can't downgrade the iOS.
As long as the apps are still available in the store, and you use the same iTunes account as you originally used to buy them, then you should be able to re-download them for free. If you download them to your computer's iTunes you could then try restoring to your backup (have you not got an old backup that might be of some use ?) and see if that restores them and their settings/content - a backup doesn't contain the actual apps, just their content/settings, so for the restore to work fully iTunes needs access to the apps so that it can restore them.
ibooks can also be re-downloaded for free, and, depending upon which country that you are in, possibly music and tv shows and (in the US some/all) films.

yes i I would of been satisfied that I drop it, and broke my iPad then the update crashing my Ipad 2. Because at least I know I did it, the apps I purchase iI'm not that upset about, but there's one app since I had to reset it to factory as new and update, I didn't want to reset it to factory setting, but I had no choice. I lost a lot of memerie. lesson learn next time I will update all my stuff on my PC to prevent this happening to me again. Never had a problem with pass update it was this update, that teach me a lesson, u can not always be computer free when it come to update any apple device.

My mac crashed last semester (during finals week too!) and I lost all the songs that I had downloaded. I have tried to look around, but is there anybody who would know how to find/ download them again? I'd rather not have to spend all that again.

I recently updated my Iphone 5s to ios8 from ios7(.something) and lost all photos, text messages, etc. and then restored it using an old Icloud backup from 2014. I want to change the Icloud backup to one from this year.

Is it possible to do this, and how? My iphone 5s is still restoring currently in the Backup settings and there's an option that says "Stop restoring Iphone" if I tap it, it says "any data that has not been downloaded will not be restored or backed up in the future"... AND I KNOW that if I update my iphone from ios7 to ios8 that it is a big jump and is the reason why I lost everything on it. So please don't tell me that is the answer to my question, because it's not. I am clearly asking if I can change the icloud backup date from 2014 to one from this year. This is because my iphone asked me which backup I want to use to restore my stuff from after the ios8 update. I hope this question isn't too confusing!!

Then you will have to continue and update the phone in hopes your last back up was successful enough to have any important information you need. As for future reference use this as a lesson learned. If you are storing important information on your phone you must back it up frequently or set up icloud to back up your phone automatically for you when you are charging the phone and it is locked and connected to your charger. Backing up to your computer as well as icloud is also important because backing up to your computer does a complete back up of your phone. Good luck

HT1414 I got an iPhone 4, at the store they transferred all my stuff from my iPhone 3GS. Everything came back but my music; so I hooked up to iTunes on my computer and hit 'restore' to last backup to get my music. But then all my recent stuff disappeared!

So I hooked up to iTunes at home and restored to get my music. The problem is,
it restored to last backup which was April 2012, now I lost all the stuff from then to now!!!
Very frustrated! Can this be undone?? All I wanted to do was put my music on.

You restored to a backup. Backups do not contain music since it is presumed to be saved in your iTunes library. See http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4946
You should have synced rather than doing a restore.
Presuming that your music is in your iTunes library you can put it back on your iPhone by syncing with the proper music selected in the iTunes Music tab.

I had the same problem and was able to fix it. Go to your iTunes and click on the Tones folder on the left under library. Some of my ring tones had an exclamation mark next to it and those were the ones that did not sync. You have to click on those and find it in your computer. Once the exclamation mark is gone, go to Tones section of your device in iTunes, make sure you select the tones you want synced, and click apply. I hope that helps you!
