My phone won't stay charge

There is probably a program running when on standby. The most common one is Mail; it it can't complete a wireless mail sync it will keep trying forever, even if you press the home button. Another possibility is you have Safari on a site that continuously or periodically updates. To test if this is the problem when you quit Mail or Safari do a force quit instead of just pressing HOME. To force quit an application HOLD the HOME button until the home screen appears instead of just pressing it.
In addition to Mail or another application running in the background, signal strength can make a big difference.
If you are further from the cell tower, or inside buildings that partially block the cell signal, the iPhone like many other cell phones will user more power to try and maintain a signal.
Also a restore couldn't hurt either http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1414

I currently have a DROID RAZR M and I'm 1 year into my 2 year contract.  Since the Kitkat update, the phone won't stay charged and it's very buggy.  I know this is not Verizons fault but it's also not mine. I would like to change my phone to an iPhone 5s and keep my same plan but switch to the Edge program. Is this possible? I don't think I should have to pay an early termination fee or anything like that since my phone has become almost unusable. I know under normal circumstances you have to wait 2 yrs to upgrade but due to the update and the poor service I'm now getting I hope Verizon can make an exception. Thank you.

How recently did you switch?  If it's less than 60 days, then Verizon simply reinstates your previous account.  The fact that you were on the EDGE plan and mailed the devices back, and they apparently are somewhere in the system, could cause complications, and it might just work out that you just go back on the same plan and they set you up with the same devices.  I'm not sure how it will go - but since you are still being billed for the devices...

  • So my iPhone 4S started draining battery after recent update, battery got changed and it worked perfect for 3 days, all of a sudden the phone won't stay on unless connected to mains... Cannot receive any signal "searching" constantly. HELP

So my iPhone 4S started draining battery after recent update, battery got changed and it worked perfect for 3 days, all of a sudden the phone  shut down and now won't stay on unless connected to mains... Claims its at 100% battery but thats impossible as it was at 30% before it shut down randomly.
Cannot receive any signal "searching" constantly.
Turns off as soon as removed from usb ... wont stay on connected to laptop!
    HELP!

The iPhone includes a one year warranty. If an Apple store is not nearby, you can call AppleCare and handle an exchange under warranty over the phone. The exchange will be shipped to your door - someone must sign for the delivery so if no one will be at home, have it delivered where you work. You use the same box to return the existing iPhone back to Apple. Return shipping label and tape to reveal the box incuded - call the carrier with number incuded when the box is ready to be picked up. AppleCare will request a credit card in the event the existing iPhone is not returned within 10 days after the exchange under warranty is received.
Hardware can fail - it happens, which is why there is a one year warranty.

  • My phone won't stay connected to 3g, and 3g is very slow

M y Phone doesn't stay Connected to the Sprint 3G network in a well covered 3G area. And nomatter where i am, if it does connect to 3G, it's extremely slow. I took it to the apple store, and they reinstalled the firmware and OS. I also did a Sprint service update, but it still didn't work. HELP!! Most times it takes 20 mins to DL an app, and up to 10 mins to load a 1 min video on youtube... I know the Sprint service is a little slower than the AT&T i'm used to, but this can't be right...

If both Sprint and Apple have taken steps to fix it and it still doesn't work then you might have a band issue.
There isn't much that can be done if it is a band issue. You may need a new phone, I am unfamiliar with the warranty, but you may want to go back to the Apple store and check on getting a new phone. Who knows, it could be free!

  • HT4993 My phone won't type long ways when I text and I can't use two hands. But it will in email. How do I fix this!! ?

My phone won't change to horizon format when texting phone messages but will in email and searches. It makes me crazy to text w one finger what is wrong!!?

reset all settings, or txt with 2 hands.
settings>general>reset>reset all settings  this will wipe out any wifi connections you hav and will restore your wallpaper/ringtones to default but you will not lose any data.
if that doesnt work you can always restore as new =)

  • HT4993 My phone won't charge anymore

My phone has stopped charging, it can't go past 56%. I have been trying to get answers for a couple days now, my battery sometimes will jump to full charge, or then instantly back down to 10%... Like it can't figure out how much it has left. I have taken it into the Apple store and they turned it on for me after it died and i couldn't. They suggested a DFU restore if problems continued... As they did i finally did a restore today and it did not fix it. Is there a way to fix it? I have not had this phone for more then a couple months... I doubt the battery is already destroyed. Could it be a defect? Will Apple replace that or my Sprint carrier? I simply would like to know all the neccesary information to get my phone back to normal. Thanks!
    -Chris

Take your cable with you, if you are using the same cable in all three cases. If that has failed, you'd get the same results.

  • Curve 8520 - white screen, phone won't stay on after constant rebooting

My phone has been playing up for absolutely months because quite frankly I just don't think a Blackberry will ever NOT be faulty.
But basically the past week or so, the screen has been going white after some phone calls, in the middle of doing something on the phone or even when the battery reaches a certain point (usually when it has maybe about 2 and a half bars left).
Usually the screen would go black after this and if I put it on charge, it would reboot and the battery would be on red as if the phone had just died because of low battery.
But tonight has put me at my wit's end because AGAIN it gave me the white screen in the middle of a phone call, so I took out the battery and put it back in, it took 15 minutes to reboot, stayed on for about 30 seconds then turned off again. Then rebooted itself. And did the same. And this is a continuous cycle because it is rebooting itself for about the 12th time tonight. It won't let me do anything and it is absolutely infuriating. I have never been so angry at an inanimate object in my life.
Any ideas? I have a warranty so I can just get Orange to send me a replacement but it's so much hassle losing contacts and BBM contacts and such so I want to avoid having to replace it as much as possible.

For the last few days, right when I'm in the middle of something, the whole screen will go white and all buttons become unresponsive.  My first thought was to do a battery pull which led me to the normal startup screen with the loading bar, however when the loading bar gets to around halfway, the phone powers off again.  Won't switch on using the power button and battery pull just starts the same cycle again.
The first couple of times it happened, my battery had been quite low and I thought the power needed to boot up had just zapped what little power was left in the battery but last night my phone was on almost full charge and the same thing happened.  The only way I can get the phone to then go on is if I plug it into my mains charger.
    Hello emmer
    Welcome to BlackBerry Support Forums
From what you described , my assumption is the problem is within your battery or the battery is too weak ! before going for a new battery I suggest if you can barrow or arrange a good fully charged BlackBerry battery then test it on your device. The test will reveal and let you know if the problem is within your battery or the device itself. If device works well well within a good battery then you can simply order a new battery which will fix your issue .
If problem remains then it's a device issue and for that you can try a OS reload which might fix this problem .

  • Phone won't wall charge, but will charge with car and USB inputs.

Yes, I have tried multiple wall chargers in multiple outlets, so the wall charger itself is not the problem.  My car charger and computer USB charge the phone fine.  What is going on?

Maybe there is a defect in usb-connector of your wall-charger.

  • Can't sync because phone won't stay connected

Ok so I connect my phone to sync it last night and it keeps disconnecting and reconnecting itself. After a couple times iTunes tells me I need to restore so I do this and when I go to put all my stuff back on it just starts disconnecting and reconnecting itself again so I can't put anything on it. Has anyone experienced this or have any help to offer me. Thanks

Sonic... I'm sure it's nothing personal, you'd be surprised at how many computers haven't turned on because the power cord wasn't connected at both ends.
As it appears you're both using Windows XP, my suggestion is this:
Connect the iPod, and quit iTunes if it launches
Click on Start > Run and type compmgmt.msc
In the left-hand column, select Device Manager
in the right-hand column, scroll to Universal Serial Bus controllers
Click the + sign to expand it
Right-click on Apple Mobile Device, and choose uninstall
Then, restart the computer with the iPhone connected

My 5c that I bought in February started dying about twice a day a week ago.  I restored the phone and it didn't help.  Any suggestions other than taking it to the Apple Store? I have auto lock set for 1 minute.

  • IPhone Snyc Problems - Corrupted files, icons won't stay put

My iPhone/iTunes is acting very screwy. I'll try to be brief.
For a while now every time I synced I would get an error saying three particular .mp3 files could not be copied because they were corrupted (although they play fine in iTunes). I would delete and reinstall those files in iTunes and I would still get the error message every sync. At the same time my iPhone hard drive was gradually filling up with content classified as "Other" to the point where I barely had room for a few songs and a movie before the iPhone was full.
So I did a complete wipe-and-reinstall of my iPhone. I thought it would fix things but now whenever I sync the home screen icons are acting goofy. No matter where I put the "Voice Memos" icon, after every sync it re-appears on my home screen. And the Weather icon is completely missing from the home screens, including the extra "overflow" home screens that you can only see in iTunes (although the app still shows up under a Spotlight search so I know its there). Also, now when I sync my music I get three NEW files that iTunes claims are corrupted and can't be synced--although the files play fine in iTunes. (Not the same three files as it was claiming before).
I've wasted a day and a half already trying to get my iPhone and iTunes to play nice. I'm about ready to chuck the iPhone out the window. Any help our suggestions on how to fix this would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the tips. Rebooting doesn't work, have tried that.
Restoring the iPhone - ahhh what a lovely process apple have come up with here... Given I'm abroad, web access is transient at best via wifi. And I can't use the data connection with my chosen NZ provider as the phone won't stay unlocked!
Is there a way to restore the phone WITHOUT a web connection? Itunes insists it must download the software - which is a 250MB download on a platform which doesn't support resumable downloads (What is this, 1998!?)
I'm loath to do a hard restore (Turn Off, Hold Home Button down for 10 seconds, incase this breaks the phone even more).
I'll definately be having words with my local apple store when I get back - I've never ever had this much trouble doing something as simple as an unlock before.

  • Macbook won't stay turned off. Please Help

so i spilled some water on my keyboard and a few of the keys are no longer working however one of the keys is acting like its held down thus keeping my macbook powered up. so every time i shut down it just powers right back up. My question is will an external keyboard cancel out the built-in keyboard and is there a way to make my macbook only power up by pressing the power button at the top right to temporarily fix my problem until i can get it fixed or buy an external keyboard. Any help is good help at this point.
    Thanks
    Jeff

I've had this same problem off and on for months. It is a major pain since the battery drains quickly win the phone won't stay in the standby or off modes.
I went into the genius bar once but it stopped having the problem about an hour before my appointment.
Usually when this occurs I just dock the phone and hope for the best. Sometimes it fixes itself when attached to the doc and sometimes a hard reset works, but not always. Of course, when I'm out and about I'm screwed since the phone drains quickly.
I am currently experiencing the same problem so I will try a restore at home.
I want this addressed before my warranty is up!

  • IPhone won't stay unlocked after official O2 Unlock...

As per a previous topic, I now have the official carrier unlock applied to my iPhone 3G (originally only on o2). Reason for requesting unlock is that I've gone abroad for a month.
I'm having some problems with the implementation of the unlock. The first time I put the Sim in, it requested the phone be connected to iTunes, which I duly did. The phone then appeared to be successfully unlocked - and indeed, a Vodaphone NZ sim worked fine.
However, when I put my phone into airplane mode, or swap to my O2 sim card and back to the Voda one, the phone then re-presents the "please connect to iTunes, different SIM installed" screen - and won't let me do anything until I do.
Anyone got any ideas on making this unlock actually stick on the device?

Thanks for the tips. Rebooting doesn't work, have tried that.
