After I click on...settings...icloud..storage and back-up..back-up now.. IT WONT BACK UP ANYTHING... aM i DOING SOMETHING WRONG?
How do you know it isn't backing up?
Do you get a message?
Does it give the last date of back up under the Backup Now button?
Have you tried resetting?
Hold the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons and don’t let go until the screen goes dark and the Apple logo appears (no data will be lost)

In preparing for iCloud storage to be reduced to 5GB, I have deleted all my emails (via internet to iCloud) including all inboxes, sent mail, archived etc. HOWEVER my iPhone (under Settings>iCloud>Storage and Backup>Manage Storage says I have 8.5 GB. Please help!

ICloud "Storage & Backup" and Sync relationship
If I enable iCloud "Storage & Backup" on my iPhone, but disable Contacts in the Settings->iCloud panel (like in this screenshot except imagine everything is turned OFF); will the "Storage & Backup" still back up my contacts? Thank you much-
If you disable Contacts in Settings then that data will not be backed up in iCloud.

I have deleted hundreds of pictures, I've deleted apps, deleted emails and texts, and I've turned off and deleted backups of apps on icloud and it is still telling me that there is not enough icloud storage available for my phone to be backed up. I am supposed to do this before I go to the Apple store today to get my phone fixed. Can someone please help me? I have done almost everything.
This article explains ways to reduce your iCloud storage: Managing your iCloud storage. In addition to what's mentioned in the article, if you have lots of photos and videos attached to your text messages, these are all included in your iCloud backup and deleting them can sometimes significantly reduce the size of your backup.
If worse comes to worse, back up your phone to your computer rather than iCloud. To do this, connect it to your computer, open iTunes and go to File>Devices>Back Up and to File>Devices>Transfer Purchases. This can be used to restore your data when you get your phone back. (In fact, it's faster because you don't have to download the data from iCloud.) -
i have 5gb of icloud storage, used 2.5gb but it wont let me unlock the other 2.5gb of storage. How can i use the remainig 2.5gb of storage?
I got rid of AMDS, ASU ,QuickTime and iTunes from control ones I also found folder in Vista with D:\Users\Rick\Music\iTunes\Previous iTunes Library and there is one dated 2009-03012.itl. I moved this file up one folder and delted existing iTunes Library.itl. iTune still failed to identify my iPhone. There are other files iTunes Library Extras.itdb, iTunes Library Geniyes,itdn and iTunes Music Library,xml date dtd 06/18/2009 after upgrade except the latter which is date 06/23/2009. So something is not allowing me to pull or put everything back to when it worked.
YES this is my only iPhone and only PC I have access to with iTunes.

I checked these out too and they appear the same printed out nearly a week prior. I agree with Coach TO, if I had bad drivers or Vista errors it would not have shown up only when I updated to latest Version of 8.2.023. My Phone was identified on a PC with iTunes at the local AT&T store. He suggested I get phone into Recovery made while connected to iTunes and that resolves the problem 9 out of 10 time. Weak spot was he tried to get phone into Recovery without iTunes connection and thought I may have iPhone problem, then changed his mind when it worked while connected. He also stated it could take an hour. I have not tried to put my iPhone in Recovery lately, I think I did a while back and it failed to go into Recovery as error "iPhone detected by, not identified..."Has anyone tried forcing phone into Recovery? I understand you may lose all that is on phone. If iTunes still fails to identify would we not be in worse shape even if iTunes holds a recent backup which it does not for many of us? Will Apple take back or exchange phone if yours is not identitifed, AT&T today told me I had to go to Apple Store for this or anything to happen. -
My incoming emails keep bouncing. I have cleared my Icloud storage (4.8Gb free currently), yet they keep bouncing. HELP!!
what errors are you receiving and what do you mean by "bouncing"? Do they just disappear or what?

I was told that I have 14.9 gb of space on my phone when my total is 15gb. I was adviced to free storage and to click on settings and manage my storage by either purchase more or turning off or deleting some of the back ups. When I went in to settings then to icloud it usually would of showed me both phone storage memory and when I started going down my list and turning off some of the apps from back ups of certain app all of a sudden I couldnt no longer see my phone storage memory or my account name for that matter. Now I only see the other line username and storage space that the other phone has.
What can I do? I used to see the list of all the apps I have on icloud and now its empty and it tells me I have available 13.4 gb available.

You are probably using Time Machine to backup your MacBook Pro, right? Then the additional 300 GB could be local Time Machine snapshots. Time Machine will write the hourly backups to the free space on your hard disk, if the backup drive is temporarily not connected. You do not see these local backups in the Finder, and MacOS will delete them, when you make a regular backup to Time Machine, or when you need the space for other data.

I have restarted my computer, but the information remains the same. How do I reclaim the use of the 300GB? Why is it showing up as "Backups" when it used to indicate "Photos"? Are my photos safe on the external drive?
You have tested the library on the external drive, and so your photos are save there.
The local TimeMachine snapshot probably now contains a backup of the moved library. Try, if connecting your Time Machine drive will reduce the size of your local Time Machine snapshots. -
I changed my Apple ID two weeks ago and I accidently forgot to sign out of my iCloud on my iPhone 5C. Now it wont let me change the iCloud ID to match my new Apple ID. How do I change my iCloud ID even though it is asking for the old ID?
If the old ID is an earlier version of your current ID, temporarily recreate the old ID by going to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID. Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change. Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address. You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iPhone, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then save any photo stream photos that you wish to keep to your camera roll. When finished go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iPhone when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud). Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was. Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.

I registered the the wrong information for my iCloud account--I misspelled the account name. I accidentally spelled blackberry instead of blackbird. How can I change this?
If you don't want to use an alias you'll have to create a new account as you cannot change the @icloud.com address once created. You'll have to create a new ID, verify the ID, then use the ID to create the new account, and migrate your iCloud data to the new account.
If you are currently syncing data with iCloud, begin by saving any photo stream photos to your camera roll as mentioned above. If you are syncing Notes with iCloud, you'll also need to open each of them and email them to yourself so they can be recreated in the new account. Finally, if you are syncing any iWork documents with iCloud, turn off iCloud syncing in your iWork app settings.
Then go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, and choose Keep on My iPhone when prompted. Then in Settings>iCloud tap Get a Free Apple ID at the bottom, set up your new ID, verify the email address you use to create it by responding to Apple's verification email, then sign in with the new ID to create your new account. Turn on your iCloud sync settings and choose Merge when prompted to upload your data to the new account. When you turn Mail to On you will be prompted to create your new @icloud.com email address. Be carefull to type it correctly as it cannot later be changed. -

It sounds like when you try to sign into the iTunes Store, you are prompted to review your account information. You click review, but nothing happens. Usually what should appear here is your billing information according to this article:

I recommend just accessing your account settings and verifying your billing information using these steps:

I restored my iPod touch 4G to get iOS 5, I want to restore it to my setting's I had before, so I selected "restore from iTunes backup" on the ipod. "connect to iTunes" on the new set up screen on the ipod. But I already restored it to my previous settings from iTunes. I have tried connecting it and re-syncing it. I am completely lost on what to do. It won't let me do anything! Help?

I have the same problem too with two songs which are in the same state. Mine happened when I was uploading to iCloud and GarageBand crashed during the upload.
It's really annoying as these songs were from live instruments plugged into my iPad and I was using iCloud as a backup but now it's lost the entire song.
I've tried turning off iCloud and getting duplicates of iCloud songs copied to my iPad and then enabling iCloud again and that didn't fix it.
I'm currently downloading the latest patch release of GarageBand to see whether installing that version (which apparently fixes the problem in the first place) will help my songs magically reappear.
Feel I have nothing to lose as I can't get to the songs ........ -

That usually indicates that you are using a phone provided by your employer, or have added your employer's exchange email account to your phone and your employer has installed a security profile preventing you from backing up to iCloud. (You'll probably see a "Profile" setting in Settings>General near the bottom.)
You would have to contact your employer's IT department to confirm this. -
Please help, but keep it simple. I have an iPad 2 and iPhone 5. I've got 25GB storage on iCloud with 18.3GB available but when I'm trying to download anything, it's saying not enough storage available. I thought everything I put on my iPad would be stored in the cloud but I'm obviously missing something. Any suggestions?
The cloud is for storing your backups (which will then allow you to restore your content back on to a device), to download content on your iPad you need enough available space on your actual iPad : Settings > General > About > Available.
If you aretrying to download an app then you generally need approximately twice its size to be able to download and install it.
