I WOULD LIKE TO BE ABLE TO UNBLOCK MY I PHONE SO I MAY BE ABLE TO USE IT IN MEXICO. I PURCHASED IT ON CRAIGSLIST A FEW DAYS AGO. ITS FROM A SPRINT CARRIER WITH THE NEWEST VERSION.

What do you mean what should you do? Just because you don't want to pay too much for a phone, doesn't make the price any cheaper. If you can't afford the price of an unlocked phone, then you don't, or can't, buy one.

Well its defintiely nothing that Apple can activate to fix this. They would be able to troubleshoot with you though. This may be able to be resolved if its something software related.

If you buy an iPhone at the UK or Canadian Apple stores, it should work on the GSM frequencies in both countries. LTE will not work as the LTE channels are different in each country and each iPhone sold in each country is only compatible on LTE channels of that particular country. Other wise it should be fine.
Be aware that only the Apple store (retail or online) sells the unlocked iPhone in the UK. I think the situation is similar in Canada. (It is in the US).

You will need to jailbreak and unlock any US phone to use it in México. I think that you should buy it in México, I have it with Iusacell and it's great!

Wind mobile wasnt supporting Iphones until they decided to let people use Iphone 5s with their $40 plan.And as i know, Turkey is the only country that asks you to register the imei on your passport to use it. So, most of people did not know it. so procedures are changing country by country. If it is an unlocked iPhone, GSM model, it should work though will not likely work on an LTE network...those are not consistent in frequencies.
But, keep in mind that the warranty is only valid in the country of sale. If there is a problem with the iPhone, there will be no support for it in India. It will have to be returned to the country of purchase for service support.

Bought this clean iphone 5 for use in India.
Now when I switched it on it says its inactivated and is locked to Sprint.
Any dieas how I can make this work
Sprint says for me to unlock it I need a valid sprint account that is used for 90 day?!!
There is no Sprint in India and the person i bought the phone has closed his account.
I really dont want to jailbreak this phone or use some hack like Rsim8 etc etc...
Any idea how i can do this legally and correctly??
Guess its problems like this that make people jailbreak and go off the grid :-)

It's not easy to switch the library a device is attached to. If possible you should backup the library from your wife's laptop and restore to an alternate location on your computer. If you can't manage that right now (note a laptop drive can often be mounted in an external drive bay to extract data from it even if the operating system is hosed) then this is an alternative approach...
You should be able to:
Backup the device to your computer.
Transfer the purchases into a library authorized for the accounts used on the device.
Recover any other media using third party tools as suggested in this post from forum regular Zevoneer.
Restore the device from the backup.
This process should switch the association of the device to the new library, preserving the data and settings in your apps.
May also be prudent to attempt a backup to iCloud directly from the device before you start... Settings > iCloud > Storage & Backup > iCloud Backup > On. It won't save any media but it would preserve the general account settings and documents in case anything goes wrong while you are trying to extract your other data.
When you get it all fixed, make a backup!

¿What's the best iPhone 6 model to use in USA, Mexico and New Zealand? I am guessing the Model A1524

I'm a traveler who uses the phone in different countries with a local SIM card (with an unlocked iPhone). I mainly need to use the phone in USA, Mexico and New Zealand. Occasionally in Europe but mostly on those 3 countries. I can see the iPhone 6 plus comes in different models each with different frequencies to match specific cellphone companies.
For what I can see, the model A1524 is the one with most frequencies available which makes me think it may match the frequencies of cellphone companies in more countries, but not sure.
Please some advice.

Depends on when you can get an unlocked version but your surmise I suspect is correct if you want to use 4G /LTE
Remember the warranty is not international so buy where you are based for maximum coverage

My Mac has recently been restored in an Apple Store. I'm wanting to backup my iPhone 4 so I can use that data on my new iPhone 5. Though as my apple ID and everything has been reset to Factory Settings, if I plug my iphone in, will it erase everything?

Okay, so I got Apple to restore my whole Mac operating system, and it obviously reset all my settings and computer to factory settings. As I now have an iPhone 5 and wanting to backup my iPhone 4, I can't do this as my Mac does not have any recorded backup's from before as they were deleted in the restoration. So i want to plug my iPhone 4 in to back it up. The main question is if I plug my iPhone 4 in, will it erase everything? and if so, how do i prevent this from happening as I have very important data on my iPhone 4 i can't lose.

Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.
