  • HT5594 I upgraded to IOS 7 this weekend, however when I go into Privacy - Location Serivces; I cannot click on location services to change my settings.  Anyone have any help for this?

    Has anyone run into this?

    Hey pitttags,
Thanks for the question. If your Locations Services page seems greyed out, or "dimmed", this could be due to limitations set by Restrictions. Using Restrictions in iOS 7, one could prevent changes to location services (including enabling/disabling). You may want to check these settings:
    iOS: Understanding Restrictions (parental controls)
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4213
You can prevent changes to Privacy settings, including:
    - Location Services
If your iOS device is missing a particular application or if a certain feature is not available, ensure that Restrictions are not enabled. Symptoms can include:
    - App missing from the Home screen (such as Safari, Camera, or FaceTime)
    - Feature or service unavailable (such as Siri or Location Services)
    - Setting missing or dimmed (such as Mail, Contacts, and Calendar; iCloud; Twitter; FaceTime)
    Thanks,
    Matt M.

  • HT5467 How to change the location service set up when the icon is not inactive?

I can not setting up the location services and change individual location service for each application since the icon are all in the dead icon and I cannot change anything. Is there anyway to make those icons in active?

Here is what I was referring to - when in Control Center, I have the database locations. (sources, targets, OWF etc). Under a database location I selected the connector/location name under Connectors. When I select Deploy Action to Drop the connector/location name will remain. However, if you were to check in the database or the Repository Browser (Locations Report) you will see that the db link is gone. At this point you can safely modify the Locations info in the Connection Explorer (in Design Center). On the other hand, if you want the location to be deleted all together then now you can delete it in the Connection Explorer panel. If you did the prior drop step then at this point all db link info should be gone from the database.

I can't activate Location Services after installing ios& on Iphone 5.... any ideas?

I had the same issue with one of the three iPhones I updated on Wednesday.  There are many processes that are working for people including:
    - Resetting the device several times
    - Toggling the "Dont' Allow Changes" setting under "Restrictions --> Location Services"
    - Disabling Restrictions altogether.
    - Restoring from backup
I was able to restore location services by selecting "Reset" and choosing "Erase All Content and Settings" to set the phone up as new.  When the phone resets and goes through the setup process, I was given the option to turn on location services.  I then restored from backup and was good to go.
Some people have been able to resolve the issue by resetting but only using "Reset All Settings" without having to erase all content, but that did not work for me.  It took a while to get everything back to normal, but it is good to know that there was a somewhat simple solution.

What does the Traffic Setting under Location Services do in iOS 5?
Do I loose anything valuable by turning that function off on my 4S?

No mention of it in the User Manual and Mpas still shows the traffic fine with it switched off.
Even my TomTom can update Traffic with the setting switched off.
    It's a mystery

  • Cannot turn on location services

All of a sudden, I cannot turn location services on.  I have an iphone 4 with iOS 5.0.  Any ideas?

I found the problem myself.  In restrictions under the allow changes, location was turned to "don't allow changes" switched it to "allow changes" and it works again.  Not sure how that got changed.

  • I cannot find the location services in the general settings

After the forced change over to IOS 6 it asked during the setup which apps would be used for location services.  I checked only the Maps as I do not like all the different programs watching me.  I went to use several that I pick and choose the locator service that is enabled and there is no "location services" under the general settings.

You will find it under new application calls praivecy through setting

I am desperate to use facebook places and to do this I need to turn on the location service option ion the advanced options menu but it won't allow me to turn on?? Why snd can I do ne thing about this x

You can add GPS by using a bluetooth connected GPS dongle with the device.
Check out the Freedom Mini GPS , google it.
With Facebook Places, you should be able to have Places recognize where you are within 2-3,000 feet or so, using the cell tower location from which your device is transmitting.

  • No "Location Services" after applying iOS 4

    Hi,
after updating my iPhone 3GS to iOS 4 I can't turn on Location Services anymore.
Am I the only one with this issue? Are there any solutions?
    TJ
Ah, I found the reason - Location Services has been turned off in the Restriction Options. Weird ...

  • How can I change the location where iTunes saves iOS 5.1, new data, synchronized apps and other data?

My hard drive C is full. I changed the location of the mediathek to an external hard drive F and moved all media data there. Also, I synchronized my iPad with this new set-up. So far, everything worked out well.
Now, why is iTunes stll saving data, like the much needed iOS 5.1, to C? This actually makes it impossible for me to finally update my iPad, because my C drive is simply full!
Also, iTunes does not synchronize my iPad apps or my photos. When I try to synchronize them manually, iTunes starts to save data to my C drive. How can I change that to my external drive F?
In a nutshell, how can I move iTunes once and for all to my external hard drive F (or at least, to a different hard drive on my computer)? There is simply no space on my C drive for it at all.
Thankyou so much for an answer, I am literally going nuts right now!
