HT5007 i cant watch movies rented

When I go to watch a movie on my iPad that I rented it pops up "Cannot Open"

The movies I havfe rented (4) all show in Itunes that I have rented these movies, they are located in my settings they are on the iPad, when I connect the iPad to Itunes it showes they are on the iPad. Everything seems correct, but when I try to play the any of the movies, it pops up " Cannot Open" so im frustrated!

Hello, Wonder if anyone can help me.
I used to have my iMac hooked up to my TV and could watch movies loading my dvd into a slot on my iMac.
Because I moved I had to disassemble the whole sistem.Now I'm putting together but I cant get the movie onto my TV.
I kinda remember that after hooking up the image cable from my iMac to my TV, I had to make a change on my computer.I dont remember what because was a long time ago but I slightly remember that I had to "shre" or spmething like that to allow the image to be seen on the TV.Do you know what I'm talking about?

If movies or tv shows aren't playing in iTunes, I'd first make sure that the computer is authorized with the Apple ID used to make iTunes Store purchases. You may want to try de-authorizing and authorizing the computer again:

Ever since i downloaded the new firefox last month i cant watch movies or live tv like the news and before it work!! can someone tell me whats wrong?

You can check for problems caused by a recent Flash 11.3 update and possibly downgrade to Flash 11.2 or 10.3.

Cant watch movies from Casio Exilim Z750 Digital Camera

Help! I just purchased a verrrry fine Casio Exilim z750 (latest model) only to discover that i cant watch the movies it records on my mac!! does any one know if there is some sort of converter or program which automatically converts as it downloads the files on to my mac?? thank you!

The MPEG-4 .avi format that comes out of the camera can't be viewed by a Mac without some help.

If you are looking for apps for your MacBook Pro, you would be best served by looking in the App Store.

Cant watch a Rented and downloaded a movie from Itunes on airplane

I recented read that I could rent and download a movie to my IPAD for viewing later. I did this and planned to watch on my international flight. When I tried to watch the movie Itunes wanted to connect over the internet 1st, since I had no internet on the plane I was not able to view my rented movie. Was there something I did wrong or do you have to have a wifi connection to select your downloaded movie from the Itunes library for viewing?

You do not need Internet access to watch on rental movie on the iPad if you are offline. Are you certain that the movie completely downloaded?
Assuming that the movie downloads completely to the iPad you do not need a WiFi connection to watch it.

It seems that not just the old Apple TV owners, but even new purchases will have to wait. If you go to the Apple TV page in the online Apple Store, a little "Movie Rentals coming soon" appears on top. It seems like even if you buy a new one, you have to wait 'til this software update is released. That's pretty bizarre if it's true. In any case, I'm sitting here wondering how they missed the MacWorld deadline to get that update out. Oh well, I'll have to be patient. I'm glad that at least it's a free update and I'll make even more use of my Apple TV. The rentals will be great if the movie companies cooperate and get the titles up quickly. If they do, I'd much rather click "rent" than drive to a store and then have to return it too. On the other hand, if they wait 30 days after the release of a DVD like I read somewhere, I might rather drive down to the rental place. I think that the movie industry is the one who is blowing it for themselves and all of us because they are so ****-bent on the copy protection crap. The music industry finally realized that there's a different, more successful business model than locking down content out of angst-filled greed. Let's see how quick the movie industry learns. We can all get on with our lives and the market will flourish. They're hurting themselves but can't realize it. (sigh)

New Apple TV and cant watch movies

My wife bought me a new Apple TV for Christmas, I get it all plugged up, install the new itunes, have home sharing on. I go and load all my music and everything works like a charm. I then go and load some movies, go to the TV to watch one, click on the movie and a black screen comes up with a spinning wheel, I assume it is trying to load, until 5 mins later and nothing has changed. I go back to itunes make sure I loaded everything right, can watch the movie in itunes just fine, go back to the tv and the same black screen. Again, my music works just fine, but can't seem to get the movies to work at all. Any suggestions out there ?

So this is where it gets confusing for me. There are two types of component inputs on my tv, Ycbcr and ypbpr. Ycbcr is digital and ypbpr is analog. I used the Ycbcr with my old apple tv which gave me a better signal.

Would work with Ycbcr because the hdmi output on the apple tv 2 is digital only?
Then the next question is if hdmi digital over Ycbcr will work with hdcp. I am currently using a MacBook for my tv needs and do not have the new apple tv so I cannot test this out, but I have debated about the new apple tv, which would work nice with my iPad and airplay but my tv does not have hdmi input, even though it is 720p capable.
Apple probably didn't include the hdmi analog ability because it doesn't support hdcp. Ironic though since jobs stated years ago he is sick of drm tech.

In the Forte Project Explorer, click on the FileSystems tab. Right-click on the top-level node ("FileSystems") and select "Mount Jar" from the context menu. Navigate to j2ee.jar and select it. The jar should then show in the list of FileSystems.
The imports should then be found.

It should be in the Movies part of your library - if you select Movies, then is there a Rentals tab on it with that film in it ?

I don't believe your statement is correct. If you rent and download a movie to your computer and then plan to watch it on Apple TV, it doesn't work. When buying a movie, it is available on Apple TV but due to licensing reasons, this isn't the case for rentals.
Apple has cooperated by issuing a credit when I got snaked by this rule.

The first thing to check would be your internet download speed, you can do this at www.speedtest.net.
HD movies require a recommended speed of 6 Mbps, while SD movies require a recommended speed of 2.5 Mbps.
Additionally, your 24 hours don't start until you begin to watch the movie, you have 30 days to start watching the movie.

You're original post is a tad confusing. If you have your ATV2 installed correctly, you don't need iTunes to watch movies on your TV.
If instead, you rented a movie on a computer, I'm not sure if you can even "see" it with ATV2 up and running. On ATV1, I think you have to "transfer" rented movies to the ATV1 before viewing.
Short version. If you want to watch a movie via ATV, it's best to rent the movie directly to the ATV device.
