HT5007 upload video to iCloud
Hello
2 questions:
How to upload my video to iCloud and share it?
What format should it be before I upload?
Yes and no... iCloud is really at the moment like a "train station". It is a transional place really meant for Pages, Keynote, Numbers, Text Edit, and Preview. You create a document, then save it to icloud, then when your done with it... you move it to its final destination. I usually send the file to a final resting area, either some where on my documents folder or on a network server and my backup file i tend to keep for a little while then either trash the back up or archive the backup. If you want to upload video, or large files to share, use Dropbox or an alternate online storage cloud system.

Does iphoto support uploading videos to icloud?
I am having difficulty uploading my videos to icloud via my mac. I can only see my photos on my Ipad despite it having IOS7. Can anyone help?
From the link I posted
What do I need to be able to add videos to a shared stream?
To add videos to a shared stream, you need an iCloud account, a compatible device, and up-to-date software:
iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch with iOS 7.0 or later
Mac with OS X Mavericks v10.9 or later and either iPhoto 9.5 or Aperture 3.5
PC with Windows 7 or later and iCloud Control Panel 3.0 or later
SInce you do not have the required software versions you can not use the feature

Uploading videos to iCloud photo library don't appear with the correct date
When I upload older photos to iCloud photo library beta they appear in the correct date in my "Moments", but when I upload a video it appears under today's date rather than the date the video was actually shot.. wonder if anyone has encountered the same problem?

We are all iphone and ipad users and would like to share videos over icloud. Idealy i would like to create a team icloud account and giver permission to the coaching staff and players. I could upload game film to the cloud and it would share to thier devices. Is this possiable with the icloud?
Welcome to the Apple community.
iCloud video sharing is limited to 5 minute clips, there are better ways of sharing longer clips, such as YouTube or DropBox. -
I saw that icloud has a limitation of 5 minutes on the videos :
Is there a way to automatically upload videos that last more than 5 minutes from iphoto/photos ?
I'm trying to find a way to store my photo library on the cloud, AND keep to acces to each photos/videos from the net (not just storing the .iphotolibrary on the icloud folder) but i cant do it for the videos of more than 5min ...I believe you are probably referring to iCloud photo sharing. If you wait a while, the next version of Yosemite will include the new Photos application which will sync video through the iCloud photo library feature.

My iPad is logged into my iCloud account, but my wife's iTunes. I have uploaded video footage from my iPhone to my iCloud. It appears on the iPad but is not accessible in iMovie? What's the fix?
You shouldn't have to change your iTunes account to not have to purchase it twice. If your devices are using different iTunes IDs, just purchase it on one device, then import it to your iTunes library by connecting the device to your computer, opening iTunes and going to File>Devices>Transfer Purchases. Once in iTunes, you should be able to sync it to your other device (assuming both devices are syncing with the same iTunes library). (And even if they were syncing with separate libraries, you could use Home Sharing to copy the app from one library to the other.)
Or, am I missunderstanding something? -
How can I upload a 25 MB video to iCloud?
I want to transfer a 25 MB video from my iPhone 4 to my PC. Can I upload it to iCloud?
When I tried to send the video as an email, the error message said it was too large. I was able to send 5 MB segments via email, but I don't know how to splice them back together on my PC.
Any suggestions?iCloud doesn't sync videos. Import it to your computer using usb as outlined here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083, or use an app like PhotoSync to wirelessly transfer it to your computer.

HT202786 If I upload a video to iCloud can it not be downloaded again?
If I upload a video to iCloud can it not be downloaded again?
Hi Debi,
Videos (and photos) can be downloaded from iCloud photo sharing. See this article -
iCloud Photo Sharing FAQ - Apple Support
In particular the section Can photos and videos be saved or downloaded from a shared album?
Yes. After photos are shared, anyone who can view the shared album can download and keep them permanently. Videos can only be downloaded to a Mac or PC. On an iOS device, videos are streamed from iCloud and can't be downloaded.
On a compatible iOS device, you can save photos to your Photos tab or Camera Roll.
In iPhoto or Aperture for Mac, you can add or copy shared photos or videos to your Library.
On a Windows PC, you can copy photos and videos from a shared album to any folder.
On the web, you can download photos and videos directly to your computer from the detail view of each photo or video.
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.

Uploading MP4 video to iCloud photos fails
I am trying to upload a 25MB MP4 video to iCloud photos yet I keep on receiving an error indicating 'JPEG format only'
I checked that you should be able to upload MP4 videos via iCloud on my PC so I can then view on my iphone 6.
Can anyone help?I see this question in a lot of places and in several Apple discussion groups. I've tried a number of the proposed solutions. I have 99GBs to upload. I got about 30GB uploaded twice, but then it kept stalling there (I have plenty of space). The solution that came closest was for me to turn off icloud, shut down Photos, rebuild Photos library (I think it's cntrl + option + double click on Photos icon), then start it all again. This let me get 60GB up fairly quickly, but it's been stuck there for a few days now. I also took my iMac into work and hooked it up to the bigger system there, since many people proposed doing that, assuming that those environments have bigger "pipes." Anyway, I did all of this, and it's still stuck, uploading maybe one photo every six hours or so.

How do I upload video clips from camera onto icloud
How do I upload videos taken from my camera which are on my laptop to iCloud?
Hi Lynda
miniDVD Cameras are not to use when one wants to edit the material
they are built for - direct playback
iMovie and FinalCut needs miniDV (tape) Cameras with a FW-out
Your Camera probably doesn't have FW out but USB and analog out.
You can: load Your movie file into the Mac via a DVD-reader that is not slot loaded
and from here use converting programs to get a file-type that iM or FCE/P
can read (With quality losses)
or
Connect an A/D-box from analog-out on Camera and FW to Mac.
Also with quality losses.
Recommendation Primary: Exchang Camera to a miniDV (tape) one
really the best way.

Is it possible to upload videos from laptop to icloud photo library?
I've been able to upload photos from my laptop but not videos. Does anyone know if it is possible or will be possible to upload videos from a laptop to my icloud photo library?

Sorry to be an absolute pain but the video i'm trying as the link suggests is currently playing in quicktime and i want to put it onto my desktop so that I can transfer it into itunes...
The video in the article is just an example video that you can use while walking through the article.
Since you've already got the videos in iTunes and they appear to be syncing, you can just work with those videos iTunes. Just select your video in iTunes> click Advanced> click Create iPod or iPhone Version and then try selecting and syncing that video in iTunes.
iTunes will convert many video formats, if it cannot convert yours into an iPhone compatible format, you may need to use a 3rd-party utility to convert the video.
