I think that sounds like a firmware update gone bad. Apple page I found says: "In the rare case that your computer displays a black screen after start up, you will need to restore your computers firmware back to factory condition before you can apply firmware update."
Dont know, but sounds like it.

MDM 7.1 SP05 server is going down all of a sudden : Any Inputs?

Hi All,
I am working on SAP MDM 7.1 SP05 and my repository is going down all of a sudden and when I get in to Log I see the following message :
The specified value for the Server Listening Port (0) is outside the range of available listening ports for system use. Please use only values between 49152 and 65535.
I went through the SAP Note and we upgraded all the components as per the guidlines... Does any one been through this issue, please share how to get rid of it.

we have MDM server port, MDS Port, MDSS Port, MDIS port..
all these ports are differnet... as we are integrated with other applicaitons.. other applicaitons are accessing MDM using MDM server port....
Apart from this wondering need to dig down .... we are not sure where the issue is... why MDM server getting restarted...

KB Download number going DOWN after time ????

These are screenshots of me trying to download a picture my wife sent to me.
If you check the times at the top of each screen, you'll see that the kb number actually goes down from 1.10pm to 1.12pm
How can this happen ?
I then switched off my phone, and turned it back on, and the picture downloaded OK.
All I ever get from ATT or Apple is to perform a restart, or to restore my phone. I even got a new sim card, but nothing seems to have helped.

My phone seems top constantly switch between 3G and Edge, on a regular basis.
However. My iphone, as shown here, was showing me 4/5 bars on 3G. At no time did it show a switch to Edge.
I am just about to upload some pictures of my collegaues phone sitting nicely on 3G, while mine sits not so happy on EDGE.
I have another call with an ATT 2nd line technician tommorrow, and I will likely try and switch my phone out for a newer one some time soon. I'm convinced this is hardware related.
Oh, and the screen shot feature is great. Helps me prove my point with Apple and ATT.

I configured two SW 3650 in a converged architecture.
SW3560-1 is Mob controller
SW3560-2 is Mob agent.
When I shut down the Mob controller, APs associated to the Mob. Agent reload, and could not join anymore to the Mob Agent.
A debug "capawap ap error" on sw3560-2 give this error:
"*Sep 5 07:51:52.144: *%LWAPP-3-AP_LICENSE_REQUEST_ERR: 1 wcm: License request failed for AP 7c0e.ceb8.f5d0 - AP License Request timedout, ensure MC link is up, Resettting AP"
Both SW3560 has a valid license for 6 AP
So I guess that the Mob Ctrl in a converged architecture, is vital.There is no redundance.

When MC is down, if MA connected AP rebooted that is strange. As Sultha mentioned, without MC, AP won't able to register as AP licence hold on MC.
Where is the SVI defined for AP management vlan ? Is DHCP given for AP from 3650-1 ? We need to find out what triggers MA connected AP to reboot.
Configuring both 3650 as MC is not an ideal solution (make it bit complex & roaming is not optimized if these two switches in same building)

Hi! I have NSMS 4.15 running on NT. The IMAP services goes down several times during a day. Why?

You don't specify what version of NMS you're running, but be sure you install or have installed 4.15p7. Also be sure you're running on NT Service Pack 5 and <i>not</i> NT Service Pack 6.
If the logs don't indicate anything specific, increase the logging level to DEBUG mode and gather more log data.
The user-load would also be of interest to you. That is, is it occuring at 3:00am when four users are logged in or is it only happening between 9:00am and noon when thousands of users are hitting the server?
Also be sure that you've disabled local.store.sharedfolders set to 'off'. Enabling them usually results in 100% cpu usage by the IMAP process, but if it is coupled with another event or problem could lend itself to a crash, too.
But without more information on your environment, log files, events leading up to the crash, etc -- there's o way to answer 'why' at all.
The already suggested reconstruct is a good bet -- especially for IMAP problems if your logs don't indicate anything useful.

Batteries goes down and up

anyone please enlighten me, my macbook battery is weird, why is it when my battery is below 50%, my macbook wont start, when i continuously use it until 18% from full charge, it would go back up to 51 %, is there someway to correct it, my cycle time is just 111, thanks

Take it in for repair or exchange. Be prepared to write a pretty big check unless you bought AppleCare+.

First thing you need to do is checking Apache log files for any reported errors under:
$IAS_ORACLE_HOME/Apache/Apache/logs
$IAS_ORACLE_HOME/Apache/Jserv/logs
$IAS_ORACLE_HOME/Apache/Jserv/logs/jvm
You may also review the database log file "alert_<SID>.log" file and see if any errors are logged there.
Was this working before? If yes, what changes have been done recently?
If no much details found in the log file, then enabling debug should be helpful.

I was having this problem while still using Mavericks -- it started after a Mavericks update last spring. During the initial Yosemite beta runs over the summer, it seemed to be fixed, but after the official launch in October, I had all sorts of problems keeping connected. Its gotten a little better, but still happens to at least one of my devices every day. Weird that we still cannot figure out why the connection keeps dropping on some devices, but not others, and then the next day, one of the devices that didn't disconnect the previous day will disconnect, but the ones that did disconnect, stay connected. It's just sloppy, poorly written software for technology that isn't working the way it should. If you turn off Continuity and Handoff on all your devices, you will probably see that everything stays connected. With those turned off on all devices, TC stayed connected to everything for over a month. The day I turned Continuity back on, all the problems started again. It had something to do with the bluetooth version being used, the wifi routine, and Apple's AirPlay technology not quite getting along with each other.

My advice is to try not to treat this like it is a paid service provided by compensated professionals. Ask nicely and one of the nice folks here might take some time out of their weekend to offer advice.

- See if placing the iPod in Recovery mode will allow a restore.. It bypasses the passcode (and erases the iPod)
- Next try DFU mode

That is the "Move" the email icon. Tap on that icon and you can move the email to any box or folder that is in black type on the left side of the window - under the Mailboxes heading. If the type is in grey on the left side - that box or folder is not an option that you can use.

I had the exact same thing happen ... for the second time. I'm done renting movies on Apple TV that I cannot watch, and don't get my money back. I have a strong Internet connection, and about 10 minutes into a movie and it stops and says that the movie will be ready to view in 55 hours. Rediculous ... and frustrating. You're welcome! I feel your pain - both "closest" Apple Stores to me are almost 2 hours away. When I called for another problem under warranty the AppleCare guy checked my zip code and found an AASP (Authorized Apple Service Provider) 20 minutes from me I had no idea existed. They diagnosed the problem (bad bluetooth keyboard) and ordered a new one for me. The AppleCare person will probably use this http://www.apple.com/buy/locator/service/ so you can check it now. And AppleCare could well diagnose your problem over the phone anyway. And I feel certain it wasn't something you did inadvertently.
