HT5012 iMessage Error

iMessage appears to be enabled, but when I try to send a picture message, I get an error saying that I have to enable iMessage. How do I fix this?

Message reads " an error occurred during activation. Try again"

  • What is iMessage error code:0732-3334-3378?

What is iMessage error code:0732-3334-3378? Does this mean that iMessage is not supported on my late 2008 MacBook?

Run Disk Utility and repair your permissions. After that, restart with Command-S, and, when black screen appears, write:
fsck -y (remember the space, and, as for - , you get it holding down the ' key). Hold down Enter key.
Waiting for repairs, and repeat that command line again. Then, type: reboot and Enter key. You restart normally. See if your problems are gone.

  • Cellular Data and iMessage Errors

I've been experiencing several issues w/the iPhone 6.  From reading the reviews, I think the issues are w/the iOS 8 operating system.  I heard that iOS 8.0.1 was released but I'm not able to update.  I saw on the forum that those that have updated are experiencing connectivity issues.  Has any one found a resolution to cellular data error messages and/or imessage connectivity?

    Hello VaneLV,
Yes, that issue has been resolves with iOS 8.0.2 update that was just released. Check for the update on your iPhone or plugging your iPhone in to your computer and using iTunes.

  • Receive at IMessage error

Please help, under my setting then "messages" where it says "Receive at" my cell number is grayed and says "error" in front of it.  The end result is that since it gives me an error on my cell number it defaulting to my secondary listing, which is my email address.  And this is leading to missed texts.
Any suggestion?  Thank you in advance.

Have you tried turning iMessage off, then back on to see if it will activate your number this time?

  • Authentication iMessage Error Yosemite

I have a collection of Apple kit here (Who doesn't eh!) but have an issue with JUST ONE of them a MacPro using a FireWire Camera.
    With the Messages Application.
When I try and log into iMessage via Messages/Preferences I get the following message.
"Could not sign into iMessage - An error occurred during Activation. Try again"  I have tried again several hundred times over several weeks. No change. Sometimes it looks like its going to succeed and the menu options start to appear but then exits and reports back as above.
I know the username and password are correct as that is the same information I use on other machines fine (typically a 2013 MAcBook Air).
    Any thou

    Eric,
thanks for the response. Sadly not solved yet.
I checked through the link and did the imagent force quit. It went for a second then re-appears. Started Messages and get the log-in screen, but sadly still doesn't work.  checked the hosts file and there isn't a firewall issue here.
    Any other ideas?

  • IPad+iMessage 'error occured during activation'

    hi there.
i'm trying to connect my ipad to my imessage account which i have on my iphone.
I've researched the problem and i have updated onto the latest iOS 7 update, reset network setting back to factory, put time to auto (everything short of wiping my ipad completely which im reluctant to do)
can anyone help me as my iphone tends to run out of battery mid conversation and obviously that's inconvenient
    thank you!!!

I assume that you saw this troubleshooting article, but did you see that you should toggle the settings on and off for Messages after each attempt?
If you see "Waiting for Activation", "Activation unsuccessful", or "An error occurred during activation"
These messages occur when your iPhone is trying to activate your phone number with iMessage or FaceTime.
To resolve these status messages, follow these steps. After each step, turn FaceTime and iMessage off and on again in Settings > Messages and Settings > FaceTime.
Update to the latest version of iOS.
Make sure that you have a cellular network connection with your cellular provider. You need a cellular network connection to activate iMessage and FaceTime with your iPhone phone number.
Go to www.apple.com in Safari to make sure that you have a data connection. You need a data connection to activate iMessage and FaceTime with your iPhone phone number.
Make sure that you can send and receive SMS. You need a valid SMS messaging plan to activate FaceTime and iMessage.
Make sure that FaceTime hasn't been restricted: tap Settings > General > Restrictions > FaceTime.
Set iPhone to the correct time zone: tap Settings > General > Date & Time.
Note: If Set Automatically is on but the incorrect time zone appears, turn Set Automatically off and choose the correct time zone, date, and time.
Contact your carrier to verify that there are no restrictions, blocks, or filters on text messages. Restrictions, blocks, or filters on text messaging will prevent iMessage and FaceTime registration from completing.
If "Waiting for Activation" still appears after you perform these steps, turn FaceTime and iMessage off and on in Settings > Messages and Settings > FaceTime. You may need to wait up to 24 hours to complete activation. Most attempts will take less than an hour, but some attempts may take up to 24 hours. If your issue isn't resolved after 24 hours, please contact Apple for assistance. If you've recently performed a remote wipe on your iPhone, wait 24 hours from the time you performed the remote wipe, and then turn iMessage off then back on.You can still activate iMessage and FaceTime with your Apple ID when these status messages appear. You can see that you've activated FaceTime and iMessage with your Apple ID by tapping:
Settings > FaceTime > You can be reached by FaceTime at:
Settings > Messages > Send & Receive > You can be reached by iMessage at:

  • HT3529 iMessage error

I have a error in my iMessage that said: error in regestration for iMessage

I have this problem too.  I have a brand new iPad.  It worked for the last couple of months and bingo iMessage and Facetime do not activate.  I get the same error message.  I called Apple Support and have spoken to two different people who cannot resolve it. It has been "escalated" to the next level.  I will send out another post to let you know if I find something that works. I should get a response in 24 hours

  • TS4268 iMessage Error

When I attempt to use iMessage I'm requested to sign into my Apple ID acct. when I enter my password, I get the following error message "an error occurred during activation. Try again. " this has persisted for 2 days. I have been using iMessage no problems for months until just recently.  What is the solution?

First thing to try is to reset your device. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the device restart. Then try to activate iMessage again.

  • IMessage error not delivered.

I keep getting the 'Not Delivered' error when trying to send an iMessage to another iPhone. I recently did the update that it called for not long ago so I don't know if that did something or what? Any ideas?

I'm in the same boat with my new 4S. I installed 5.0.1 last night and it was working fine until this morning. When I woke up, I tried to send a text message with no luck. iMessage works fine, and I can RECIEVE text messages. Just no dice on sending any. At all.

  • IMessage error!!!! need help

hi, i´m having some trouble with my mac. I can´t log ini in my iMessage account ando don't know why, here you can se the error
here comes the weird thing, last week i drop some water in the keyboard, so in order to keep working i put my hard drive in another macbook pro i have, and in this mac i could easily sign in mi iMessage account and it also happens that sometimes when i connect my mac to a different wifi network (not the one in my home) it works... i live in argentina so i can't call anyone from the official client support, because apple is not in argentina.
    same happens with FaceTime
    thanks guys!!!!!

There is no official public documentation of that alert as far as I know, but apparently it can sometimes mean that the primary or alternate email address is invalid. Search the Web for the phrase "My Apple ID." The top hit should be an Apple web page with that title. I'm not giving a direct link because such links are never to be trusted. Sign in and verify the ID.
Otherwise, do as the alert directs. According to reports, you won't be charged for the support call if you select "Apple ID"—not the hardware model—as the product you're asking about, and cite the "customer code" in the alert as the "validation code" when you speak to the Apple representative. I can't confirm.

  • IMessage error after migrating from old hard drive

After I used migration assistant to transfer my user account from my old hard drive to my new one, every time I try to use iMessage, I get this error
Does anyone know how I can fix this?

    Hi,
With that messages there is no other option than doing what it says.
At the beginning of Mountain Lion it was Free, but now people are reporting that Apple are charging for the phone call.

  • IMessage Error - Can't Log In

Using my Apple ID that worked, I recently reformatted and reinstalled Lion to clean up everything. My Retina MacBook shipped with Lion and it was working fine before (it still works on my iPhone), but after the reinstall when I attempt to sign in using my validated Apple ID to iMessage I get the following message:
"The server encountered an error processing registration - Please try again later."
I have followed all the reccommended troubleshooting guidelines that the commmunity has suggested, including:
    - Deleting all .plist files related to IMAgent and iMessage, iChat, and FaceTime from the /Library/Preferences
    - Flushing DNS and clearing host file to default
    - Verifying that Wi-Fi is connected, time automatically is set
    - DNS servers are set to Google DNS (8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4)
    - Restarting after applying all settings (and I even reinstalled again)
    - Verified that there are no "unknown" or iPhone issued certificates in the Keychain
I have even put in a fake ID and password and get the same message, meaning there seems to be a connection problem where it isn't even reaching the validation servers.
    Any input would be appreciated.

    Hi,
I am seeing various posts now across several Communities about FaceTime and the  iMessages part of Messages beta having issues.
FaceTime ones seem to be about Logging in when people could before but now can't.
Some are about FaceTime not being able to Register an Apple ID.
Some of those about Mesage beta also seem to be about Registering the Apple ID involved.
I personally am finding I cannot send or receive pics sent to and from iPhones (I don't have an iPad to test with)
This points to an issue with the iMessages and FaceTime servers.
This could be to do with a general fault.
It could be to do with an "Upgrade" ready for the Mountain Lion release.
At present I don't have a "fix" that works.  I also suspect it will only be solved by time
