Try this - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.) No data/files will be erased. http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430

Try to reset the device:
Device Reset (won't affect settings/data/music/apps/etc)
1. Press and hold (& continue to hold) BOTH the Sleep/Wake button & the Home button.

stevejobsfan is correct; iwork for ios is free only for new purchases of new ios devices. A good work around (if you have wifi connectivity) is going to the icloud website on your ipad, and working on your document.
A word of caution (the real reason I am responding to your post). If you do a lot of 'formatting' of a document on iwork for mac, and then save it in icloud; you will probably loose most of the formatting you have done (this will be true if you oppen the document in iwork for ios; also) It happened to me, and I did not duplicate the document before saving it to icloud; I lost at least an hours worth of work.

I updated my ipad to IOS7.04 and have had a variety of problems from a sticky keyboard to my programs/apps skipping from program/app to program/app without my touching my screen.
I tried to restore my ipad to the factory setting and that did not resolve the problem. Due to the upgrade i cannot use my ipad as a funtional unit, how can i get my ipad to function properly again?

First thing to try is to reset your device. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the device restart. See if that fixes your problem.

I updated my iPad to iOS7 and since then my iPad2 does not have sound (says no SOUND EFFECT). I already got it checked by Genius Bar who say that it is not a software problem.

Have done all suggested things including toggle and change in settings. Still it keeps showing a bell (which shows sound effects) but does not enable change of sound / sound in apps.
On Saturday, 3rd may2014 I got an appointment with Genius Bar at WEST 14th street NYC which initially said that this looks like settings issue. So they reset my iPad settings.

When I conveyed that this is APPLE specific issue, they flatly denied and conveyed that there are NO such cases. When I offered to show it on Aple community, they say THIS HAPPENS TO ONLY A SMALL MINORITY AND IS NOT CONSIDERED A "KNOWN ISSUE".
I HAD GONE AT THE SAME TIME FOR CHANGING MY IPHONE's speaker (for that too, they said that they can only replace my phone with a hefty payment rather than changing the speakers).
THIS AMPLY SHOWED THAT THEY HAD NO INTENTION OF SERVICING THE INSTRUMENTS AND THEY WERE ONLY THINKING OF HOW TO INCREASE SALES BY DRAWING ON THE OLD INVENTORY.
SHOWS RIDICULOUS ATTITUDE OF APPLE.

After I upgraded to Mavericks I was also having this message when I tried to update. There was a previous post about this problem which offered this simple solution which worked for me:

Got it! Thanx. What I did was go to my account, check that they had my new ID and Password which they did, then hit reset button. All fixed.

I had to call Apple Support and they walked me through the restore procedure.
We first had to delete the old account from iCloud and then do a restore from iTunes.
Even with Apple Support's help, it took a few tries.
We had skipped the adding a passcode during the ios7 update.
The helpdesk said we must have inadvertently, but I know that we did not:
i.e. we just pushed a "Don't add a passcode" button (I don't remember the exact text)
on the touchscreen and nothing else.
We had to restore from a few month old iTunes backup -

Your iPad is in Recovery Mode. You need to plug it in to your computer and Restore it using iTunes.

Just installed Mavericks on iMac and Messages not working properly

I just upgraded my iMac to OS X 10.9. Most everything is okay but Messages is acting weird. All the messages from one person, who has an iPhone and Messages now show up in green bubbles, which signifies SMS. Before the upgrade, they all showed correctly. They appear correctly on my new iPad which I just set up yesterday, on my iPhone (both running iOS 7) and on my MacBook Air which is still running OS X 10.8. I tried it with other people and some have the regular light grey bubble and one has a purple bubble. This is only happing on the just upgraded OS X 10.0 Now I saw this on MacRumors and it is obvious this happens to others. This is the supposed cause..

With Mavericks they let you choose your own color that you want people to see, but it randomly picks one for you from the start, until you change it. Click on the "viewing" tab in preferences and you can change the sender's color back to clear, or whatever you want it to be."
I checked and my iMac is set to Automatic. Is this what others are seeing?

IPad 3: Apps and Internet not working

A week ago I noticed that none of the applications on my iPad is working. When you click on it they open but unable to connect to the server. I then noticed Safari is also not working. I checked the wireless connection, turned it off and back on again, restarted the router and the wireless shows that it is connected.
Yesterday I took a backup and reset the pad by deleting everything and set it up from scratch, unfortunately this also didnt work.
What could be the problem?

Why with last update of mevericks usb ports and xcode not works ?

yesterday i install the last update of maverick and now i cant use the time machine, usb key and xcode
do you have a solution for that ?

Just waking this thread up again in case anyone has had any other ideas.
Since last posting, usb became functional again, (came back on a couple of hours after a restart) and as long as I kept the machine alive, usb would stay alive. Bluetooth came back on briefly, but for most of the time was unavailable. System profiler shows no problems and Console does not report any usb related errors as far as I can see.
After a recent restart, usb disappeared again, and despite numerous restarts and being left on for a couple of days (and subsequently left off for several days) it has not come back. When usb is not working, examining the system profiler (through screen sharing from my macbook) usb shows no errors, but also shows no connected devices. I can charge my ipod nano with any of the usb ports (front or back), so power does not seem to be the issue.
I can't reset pRAM (because the keyboard is not available at boot), but have reset SMC numerous times. Have tried other keyboards, and mice. No joy.
I seem to have run out of ideas. Any suggestions?

My Ipod Touch will not update apps. The apps that need updates are frozen. I select update it says installing or waiting. The app is shaded and not able to use until I can update. I did reset but still not updating. What else can I do?

Thanks. I updated my ipod touch but more importantly I had to specifically request to sync my apps. Once I synced my apps from my ibook, TED and other apps are highlighted back to normal. I will use fewer apps less updates to deal with. Computers are quite a pain with all the constant updates to install.

Have you tried restarting the phone? Hold both Home and Power buttons down until Apple logo appears and phone "reboots".
And have you tried resetting Network Settings?
Settings => General => Reset => Reset Network Settings
You will have to re-enter Wifi Passwords but it might help you get to a more solid connection on your phone.

I don't get this. You were asked if you wanted a passcode. Apple always makes you enter it twice to make sure you got the same code. How can you forget 4 numbers you just entered?

IOS7 facetime and message not working

For the past week days, I can not send messages or use facetime. I'm guessing this has something to do with the iOS 7 update. I've tried to turn each app off and back on, restart iPad, reset my network settings, none are working. I've also noticed that for messages, my Apple ID has changed to the icloud one and I can't delete this one to use my @domain.com one. Not sure how this happened. When I tried to add my @domain.com to the message app, I get an error that the email address is already in use.
Would anyone have any tips how to fix those?

I read on another post to change the wifi settings DNS address and it worked for me :) !! Go to settings > wifi > and Change the DNS to 8.8.8.8
