 Hi,
One of my ex-colleagues has installed a NI-DAQ 6.5 in our system. [And I do not see any other naitional instruments card in the CPU of the computer, may be he removed it] I deleted the account and all his files in the system. When I am trying to install version8.0, its not getting installed and giving me a message that I should uninstall the previous version by going to Add/Remove programs in the control panel.
I tried doing that, but the "Change/Remove" button does not seem to work...[There is no response and so unable to install the new version...]
Any idea how can this problem be solved?
It is a windowsXP operating system with SP2 installed on a machine with P4 processor.
Thanks

The following message popped up on my MacBook Air: Your Apple ID and phone number are now being used for iCloud on a new iPhone. What does it mean?

    Hi SLCfromMadison,
This is the message that you'll receive when your Apple ID is signed into on an iPhone. If you haven't done so, the article linked below details a number of steps that can help verify the security of your Apple ID should you think that an unauthorized person has access to it.

  • TS3992 what does it mean that my iphone will no longer back up to my computer automatically when i sync with itunes?

What does it mean that "my iphone will no longer back up to my computer automatically when I sync with itunes", if I turn my icloud backup to "on"? This doesnt sound like something that will make things smoother? I just recently lost all my calendar events and I am hoping to recover them.

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
You can either back up to iTunes or to iCloud, you you choose to back up to iCloud, back up to iTunes will be turned off. Personally, I'd always back up to iTunes unless there is a good reason not to you.

What does it mean that MobileMe Mail is no longer available in iCloud, when you switch? What happens to all one's previous mail? How is/ is all ones mail transfered?

You may be able to re download past purchases, read here > Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
If you delete purchases, they are no longer stored in iCloud.

  • What does it mean that our files must be downloaded by January 2015?  Will our files still be accessible after this date or will they be deleted?

    Hi Everyone!
I'm a bit new to the whole PDF thing and am thrilled to share that I finally figured out how to use this cool feature! Well sort of! I noticed that there is a large red button that says all files will be deleted on January 6th. What does that mean exactly?  Will any files that we have stored here simply vanish?  I have a PDF file that I published in my 'workspace' that's linked to my business website.  Will the link to my PDF file just disappear on January 6th?  Thanks for any insights that you can share!
    Blessings,
    Lori

Adobe Workspaces is being retired at the beginning of 2005. For more information, see FAQ: Adobe Workspaces retired.
Yes, links to any files your have stored on Workspaces will not work after January 6, 2015.

  • I Stat Pro: 10 MB free memory but 256 MB swap file.  What does this mean?

I have a 20 inch Intel Core Duo 2 Ghz iMac with the stock 512 MB memory stick.
The most intensive things I do are video and photo editing, and the system does seems to lag or sometimes dvd menus stutter.
    Do I need more memory?
I Stat Pro widget will say that I have around 10 MB of free memory, but the swap file will say 256 MB or even 512 MB.

A swap file is memory that is on your hard drive. There usually is a minimum amount, and it will increase drastically when you run out of physical RAM which you appear to be doing. For example, I have 2 gigs and I have almost 1.5 unused typing here and a 64 mb swap file.
You also have to consider Rosetta if you are running Adobe PSCS2 and other Power PC version software. If so, Rosetta uses up a ton of memory to run the non-universal apps on the Intel Macs.
In my opinion, you need at least 1 gig, and will be way happier with 2 if running Adobe and MS Office stuff, just like others have posted.
DDR also requires matched pairs to run in dual state, so if you had 2 sticks of 512 or 2 of 1 gig, your speed will increase.
Bottom line, if it's fast enough for you and you don't mind the hard drive churning, don't let us spend your money

  • HT1329 How do you deauthorize ipods that no longer work or have been stolen. What does it mean that you only have 5 devices that can download your itunes library. How do you deactivte old serial numbers and add new ones as of now we only have one ipod

Over the years we have owned many i-pods. Most of them ran out of juice or were just outdated some even stolen. As of right now I have one i-pod that should be authorized to download music from my library. I plan to get a new one. My question is how do you deactivate all the old i-pods so that i-tunes doesnt think I have all these pods downloading from my personal lbrary of music. If I get a new one and plug it in it will say you are authorized 1 or 2  or whatever it is at this point to download music from this libtary. How to I get rid of all the old devices (serial numbers) that don't draw from my i-tunes library anymore?

Ipods/iphones/ipads/apple tvs are not authorized at all.
    Authorization applies ONLY to computers.

  • What does it mean that a document is "waiting" and why?

I just created a doument in Numbers on my mac and in the icloud window it shows the doument with a cloud icon next to it and the word "waiting". Why is it waiting after 10 minutes on a high speed wifi connection? It is going to sync ever or is this just an icloud failure or even a lie about its capabilities.
I really needed this doc on my mac, so I emailed it to myself and opened it in ios numbers. Why should that be faster than the vaunted icloud? Why is there no indication of a problem with icloud? Why is there no progress bar? It just works, yeah, right.

  • HT4623 what does message mean that ipad in recovery mode

I was updating my ipad and it was accidently disconnected.  When I reconnected later, I have been getting the error message that I need to restore the ipad and that I am in recovery mode.  what do I need to do to use it?

Placing your device into recovery (DFU) mode:
Follow these steps to place your iOS device into recovery mode. If your iOS device is already in recovery mode, you can proceed immediately to step 6.
       1. Disconnect the USB cable from the iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, but leave the
other end of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
       2. Turn off the device: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds
until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the device to turn off.
                  * If you cannot turn off the device using the slider, press and hold the
Sleep/Wake and Home buttons at the same time. When the device turns off,
release the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons.
      3. While pressing and holding the Home button, reconnect the USB cable to the
device. The device should turn on. Note: If you see the screen pictured below,
let the device charge for at least ten minutes to ensure that the battery has some
charge, and then start with step 2 again.
      4. Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen.
When this screen appears you can release the Home button:
      5. If necessary, open iTunes. You should see the following "recovery mode" alert:
      6. Use iTunes to restore the device.
If you don't see the "Connect to iTunes" screen, try these steps again. If you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen but the device does not appear in iTunes, see this article and its related links.
    Additional Information:
Note: When using recovery mode, you can only restore the device. All user content on the device will be erased, but if you had previously synced with iTunes on this computer, you can restore from a previous backup. See this article for more information.

  • Please take a look at this screenshot from disk Utility - What does it Mean

I've just got my MB Pro with 8Gb RAM, HR Monitor AntiGLare, 7200rpm500GB HDD, OS X 10.6.4. The list of apps installed.. All Installations went well and 100% successful.
    iLife09 (preInstalled)
ALL OSX etc Updates done upon starting machine first time
    AppDelete (latest version)
Final Cut Studio 3 (Full installation)
    LightRoom 3
MS (Mac) Office 2008 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint & MS Project Gallery)
PhotoShop CS 3 <--- HOWEVER, I had to remove this as the UPDATE feature kept crashing (unexpected Quit).. so I decided to REMOVE CS3 Altogether using AppDelete.
However, Im still getting the odd Unexpected Quit, and the application closing. This happens on one particular filter in FCS3.. 'SugarFXHUD' & today I noticed it happened when I was in Apple QMASTER configuring it to use compressor for multiple cores (the digital rebellion procedure).
I followed the Apple Instructions on doing a DISK Permission Repair and noticed the following.
    http://i283.photobucket.com/albums/kk293/jayZ67/Screenshot2010-08-20at215330.png
You will see there are TWO lines with the word WARNING SUID ....
    Q. Can anyone make sense of this?
Bare in mind my system is absolutely unused and only had the above apps successfully installed.

As Sig mentioned perfectly normal, here is Apple's explanation:

  • What does it mean that my macbook pro freezes until i smack it lightly in the bottom right hand corner by the trackpad???? is this specifically a hard drive problem? I don't know what to do.....

its' been happening a year now maybe?
    i have a macbook pro 17" from 2008 or 9.
been a great computer but little things are going now....
for some reason my firewire ports don't like to work and randomly tell me my external drives are disconnected. my firewire 800 doesn't work at all..
    my lcd is getting dim.
and the latest thing is my computer will freeze when you're doing something simple like googling something and it will stay frozen until you smack it on teh lower corner next to teh trackpad on the right hand side.
    more than annoying.
    what can i do?
i was going to try to repair this one, but it seems like it would be more cost efficient to just get a new one...
OH and my keyboard gets more than hot now
AND i can't, for whatever reason, burn any dvds or cds in my drive.. it gives me some random error..
    my $h*t$ jacked up.

Why did you put up with all those issues for a year?

  • What does this mean/ Do i have a virus? SUID file "system/library/coreServices/remotemanagement/ARDAgent.app/contents/macos/ardag ent" has been modified and will not be repaired.

SUID file "system/library/coreServices/remotemanagement/ARDAgent.app/contents/macos/ardag ent" has been modified and will not be repaired. I have tried repairing and it won't repair it.

About SUID messages you can "safely ignore"...
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1448?viewlocale=en_US
There's nothing to repair. As long as you see, "Permissions Repair Complete" when it's finished... you're done.
Not a virus. There are no Mac viruses.

Some of those I am subscribed to are grayed, others are black with a blue dot showing they are ready to listen to. The grayed ones don't respond to my clicks at all.
I looked at iTune Help but did not see anything about this.

On mine, it means they haven't downloaded - There should be a "Get" button to the right of it.
