HT5035 Can I transfer my itunes balance to another apple id?

I redeemed an itunes gift card into my account, but would like to transfer it to my daughter's. Is this possible?

You can't transfer it yourself, but if it's just been redeemed then you can try contacting iTunes Support and see if they can transfer it for you (I don't know if they will be able to) : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page

i received a $50 gift card and I told my wife she could use some of it; now she has tghe full amount in her ID and I'd like to put some tunes on my itunes library.  Can I transfer?

No, except by asking the iTunes Store staff to put the entire balance back onto the card, which can only be done if none of it has been spent.

No.  It can only be used in your own account, and cannot be used to buy gift cards.

  • Can i transfer my itunes match to another apple id?

I recently subscribed to iTunes match but, unfortunately, joined under an account I really don't use. Is it possible to move iTunes Match to my other account?

Thank you very much stevejobsfan0123.  You were entirely right. They do not transfer or migrate iMatch services.  In the end, I decided to keep my old account and continue using iMatch. Support was very helpful with resolving some questions I had.

How can I transfer all iTunes purchases from one apple id to another?

Don't agree. I have two accounts, one for work which I set up years ago and bought a few tracks. I've recently bought iPhone and iPad and created a home ID and wanted to transfer the old purchaces. Everyone says it can't be done, but I've done it.
    1. on the iPhone/iPad change your "store" Apple ID to the one you want ot transfer from.
    2. go into iTune on the device and download the purchaces.
    3. on you PC/Mac change the iTunes login to the same as the device's ID
    4. sync your device
    5. change both ID's back and the purchaces stay on both iTunes and your device.
    Delmar,
The procedure you describe is putting content from two different IDs into a single library, which can readily be done.
However, each item of purchased content will still be tied to the ID from which it was originally purchased, and they will be treated separately for purposes of Cloud, Match, Purchase History, etc.

  • HT2736 How can I transfer a gift balance from one apple id to another?

I have changed iphones and created a new apple ID.  How can I transfer a gift card balance from one apple ID to another.  I tried using Itune Gift but it requires the use of a credit card not a gift card.  Any ideas?

You can't currently transfer an account's balance from one account to another, nor can you use it to gift content. You shoudl be able to use your old account on your new phone, it's generally best just to have the one iTunes account

How can I transfer my iTunes library and playlists from one computer to another?

Copy the iTunes folder (Mac: Home\Music or PC: My Music) to the same location on the new computer. If an iTunes folder already exists on the new computer (it will on a Mac) replace it with one you copied.

This is threadjacking. Where someone posts something in a thread that has nothing to do with the thread. If you want to ask a question, then start your own thread. You won't get an answer here.  But to keep you from having to start a thread, there is no iPhone unlock code.

    I am a bit of a computer/Internet/iTunes dummy....
I am concerned about the health of my current computer but have not yet made the commitment to a new one, but:
    1) How can I transfer my iTunes account to a new computer when I get one...
    and
    2) What can I do if my current computer suddenly implodes and I have not yet 'copied/'saved'/otherwise protected my account, as is? -- I have already had my computer crash once and had one of your people help me restore all of the paid for songs (none of the uploaded from my own collection of CD songs, of course, so I had to spend a long time rebuilding that) -- and I believe I was told you could only help me recover that material one or two times altogether, no?
WithOUT purchasing a Mach or iCloud (I actually think I have one of the later, but rarely have checked it) account, is there anything I can do to responsibly protect my account?
Thanks for any time taken on this!!!

These are two possible approaches that will normally work to move an existing library to a new computer.
    Method 1
Backup the library with this User Tip.
Deauthorize the old computer if you no longer want to access protected content on it.
Restore the backup to your new computer using the same tool used to back it up.
Keep your backup up-to-date in future.
    Method 2
Connect the two computers to the same network. Share your <User's Music> folder from the old computer and copy the entire iTunes library folder into the <User's Music> folder on the new one. Again, deauthorize the old computer if no longer required.
Both methods should give the new computer a working clone of the library that was on the old one. As far as iTunes is concerned this is still the "home" library for your devices so you shouldn't have any issues with iTunes wanting to erase and reload.
I'd recommend method 1 since it establishes an ongoing backup for your library.
Note if you have iOS devices and haven't moved your contacts and calendar items across then you should create one dummy entry of each in your new profile and iTunes should  merge the existing data from the device.
If your media folder has been split out from the main iTunes folder you may need to do some preparatory work to make it easier to move. See make a split library portable.
Should you be in the unfortunate position where you are no longer able to access your original library or a backup then then see Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device for advice on how to set up your devices with a new library with the maximum preservation of data.
