HT5035 iTunes Gift card payment
I have redeemed my iTunes gift card and my account shows a balance.
However, when maling a purchase, the music download does not start automatically, and when prompted to enter my iTunes password, it goes to a page asking me to submit a credit card for payment. What gives?
If you redeemed the gift card, the funds should be on the iTunes account for the AppleID used to redeem it. If you redeemed the card, but the balance was not credited to your account before you reset your phone, you should contact iTunes store support

My son put his code in first, he only spent $5 of the $15 dollars available, and now my daughter wants to buy something so we were wondering if there is a way to remove his gift card number and input her so she can buy something off of her card. You can't. When you redeem a card onto an account then its value is added to the account's balance - the card itself is then effectively used up and no longer of any use, it's remaining value can't be 'unredeemed' or removed from the account (except by spending it). Similarly for redeeming the second child's card.
You or they will need to keep track of how much each has spent. -
I have a balancer on an ITunes Gift Card But can't seem to make purchases with this balance. I saved 4 items to my wish list but when attempting to purchase/buy I am not given the option. All I see is Gift This Song, Tell a Friend, Share on Twitter, Share on Facebook abd Copy Link. Last made a purchase in June 2013 without any issues. How do I buy music using the unused balance on my gift card? What has changed?
You need to click on the price, not the downward pointing arrow next to them, that should allow you to buy them - the 'buy all' button that used to be on the wish list screen has, for some reason, been removed from the current version of iTunes, so you can only buy items individually

If you used it once then the entire value is transferred to your iTunes account, you should see the balance in iTunes store. If you are not sure if the card was use try to redeem it in the itunes store.

If you try to change the account you are logged into, to update the apps, you will not be allowed to log into your account again for 90 days. The apps are asking for your boyfriends details because those apps belong to him, you should delete them and purchase your own. -
I recently started my apple I'd account and used my wife's bank card for payment info. I then loaded $75 from iTunes gift cards on the account. I was able to make in app purchases, now its telling me to contact iTunes Store support to complete now? Help

If I redeem an iTunes Gift Card to an Apple ID that does not have a credit card (or NONE is selected as payment option), can I gift an app to another account?
I can purchase apps on that account but it will not allow me to gift an app from an ipad or via the itunes store (on the computer). Do I need to have a credit card on the account to be able to do that?You can only gift via a credit card - you can only use your account's balance for buying content for yourself.

My iTunes gift card isn't a form of payment.
I was gifted an Apple iTunes gift card, I still have a balance of $15.00 and it isn't an option for payment. The album I'm trying to purchase is $9.99 so I know it's not a matter of insufficent funds. Any solutions? Maybe something I'm missing?
If you have already redeemed it, the amount is credited to your iTunes account. You no longer need the card. Simply purchase something. The amount will be taken from the balance on your account.

How to switch from payment type to itunes gift card?
Hi, i'm having trouble with my itunes i wanted to stop using my credit debit card and just use itunes gift cards but i'm having trouble changing the payment considering the fact i tried all things including clicking none when in fact there's no "none on the payment edit page. I'm frustrated, confused, and a bit upset. I need help anything to get this fixed and if you have too make it simple i have a hard time understanding complexed answers.

If the total cost of the purchase including any applicable taxes and fees exceeds the balance from a redeemed gift card, the difference is charged to your credit or debit card account.

Just to make sure your system software is up to date click your Apple menu top left in your screen. From the drop down menu click Software Update...

i want to set up family sharing and i will be the organizer when setting up family sharing i am asked to use a valid payment method and i don't want to use any credit or debit cars so can i use iTunes Gift cards and iTunes Gifts as a payment method ?

How do you pay for apps using an iTunes gift card. I have money on a gift card but only my credit card shows up as method of payment.
After establishing the Credit Card account (i.e. after you have made purchases), you can remove the credit card information by editing your payment info, choosing "None".

Is Settings > General > Restrictions > In-App Purchases: ON (green)?
Some In-App Purchases works only with credit card.
