HT5037 I am stuck on step 2.  Where is the Go menu in The Finder?

Got a new iMac, and trying to use iPhoto, and get this message:  "To open your library with this version of iPhoto, it first needs to be prepared." If you do, you can use the iPhoto Library Upgrader tool to prepare your library to work with the current version of iPhoto.
I click on learn more and get to this page, and I get stuck on step 2.  Where is the Go menu in The Finder?

Here's another method to get to the library:
NOTE: In Mavericks, 10.9,  go to your Home folder (the folder with the house icon) and use the View ➙ Show View Options menu to bring the this window:
Check the Show Library checkbox which will make that folder visible.

A movie I purchased in the iTunes store is missing. It isn't hidden and doesn't show up in search. I've followed support steps.  Where is it and how do I find it?  I believe I originally purchased the film on my 1st Gen AppleTV...other movies show up. Help.

It was Love Actually. It's been in my library a few years but is now missing. It's odd...it isn't even in the iTunes Store anymore. I think there is a rights issue because a message appeared in the store saying it wasn't available at this time in the U. S. store. Still, if I bought it years ago it should be in my library or I should get a refund....

  • Where is the find/replace-special feature located now?

Where is the find special feature located now?
I used to be able the search for "<space><tab>" and replace with "<tab>"
I can no longer locate that feature and if I try to paste it into the find dialog, it says that no instances are found although I might be looking at several.
I made extensive use of this and "Convert text to table" and "convert table to text."
Ars-Technica reports that many of the "advanced" features have been removed. If that's correct, is Apple trying to relagate it's apps to the "Un-professional" level? Are we going to end up looking elsewhere for the features we had come to rely on? Granted, some of them still didn't work as expected, but the ones that did, I really made a **** of a lot of use of, including, but not limited to mail merge, which I'm told is also gone.
Why can't apple just keep the great, if not at least standard, functionality intact? Give users a preference to hide the "Standardized" features if they are going to confuse them. Note that I'm not even going to say "professional" here because a robust find and replace to me is considered common place. Find and replacejust text is simply dumbed-down and, for me is a bit of an insult, especially after hemming me in to not being able to edit my documents once I open them in iOS and killing iWork on my machine after the update - sure the apps are there, but they crash complaining of a missing library.
On that note, if anyone knows how to fix that so that I can keep working with iWork '09, I'd be relatively happy to be able to work with some of my old work that won't function in the new Pages.
Any help on any of this is greatly appreciated.

Pages 5 has over 90 other features removed:

Pages '09 should still be in your Applications/iWork folder.
Export your Pages 5 files to Pages '09 or Word .docx and trash/archive Pages 5.
Then rate/review Pages 5 in the App Store.

  • Where are the finder prefs located?

Finder prefs used to be located in Library>Prefs>com.apple.plist.
Where are they located in Lion......don't see them in the above location?

Icons on my Finder toolbar are about 1/3 smaller than they were in 10.6. Display resolution is the same as before.
Below is my Finder bar in 10.6 and underneath it is my Fiinder bar in 10.7. The outline (snapshot) area of the toolbars are the same in both pics. Repairing the permissions fix'd the problem for about an hour yesterday but then it reverted back.
I just noticed that the screenshots don't really show anything.....take my word for it, the icons are smaller. Yes, I'm looking for the Finder plist. When I go to the Prefs folder I don't see com.apple.finder.plist.

  • Where is the Find Panel?

Where is the FindPanel of the DAC api?
How can I do a range check with the panelBinding findMode ?
Can i have a panel in editing mode and one in find mode?
Someone have done a component like the FindPanel with JClient?
    Please, give us the FindPanel!!!!!
Using DAC FindPanel with JClient is a bad idea?

Where is the FindPanel of the DAC api?Based on feedback we received for DAC, we determined that creating a DAC-like find panel was too trivial for most users. Most applications wanted to create their own find panel which looked very much like their data/display panel and that't the route that we chose for JClient.
However, this does not preclude you from having your own "findPanel" that has a display like DAC or functionality like DAC's.
You may "hide" the default FindButton and add your own to the NavBar that invokes your custom findPanel.
How can I do a range check with the panelBinding findMode ?Please elabortate on this with an example?
Can i have a panel in editing mode and one in find mode?Yes. Infact earlier today I replied with an example of how to have two instances of "same" exact panel displayed in one form one in find mode and the other in data mode.
See Re: Migrating UIX pages from one ADF application to another
Someone have done a component like the FindPanel with JClient? Not that I've heard of.
Please, give us the FindPanel!!!!!Could you elaborate on which features of the DAC Findpanel are you missing? We could work on a howto on achieving those.
Using DAC FindPanel with JClient is a bad idea? This should work. At the end of the day, they may be talking to the same ViewObject, so setting up a find criteria on the ViewObject and re-executing it will refresh your datapanel in JClient.

  • Drive tray stuck open...where does the paperclip (manual eject) go?

I've got the Sony drive which has stuck with the tray half out. I cannot remove the drive because the tray prevents any movement sideways. If I get any firmer with the tray or little metal door something will break... My only solution appears to be the manual eject but this is hidden by the door which is stuck in place by the tray. There must be a simple answer but I must admit I can't find it.

    The Great Escape?
After these previous posts I really 'took to' the drive tray and I thought I would let any passers-by know what happened.
I did some more pushing and pulling. much harder than before and started paying more attention to what was going on in the drive and decided to bend the tray in a middle up, sides down way and pulled... two nasty cracks (noises) and a complete and undamaged tray was in my hand. I took the drive out, used a paperclip to reset the manual eject and gently pushed the tray back in. Two nasty cracks (noises) later and the tray runs in and out as it should. The whole mechanism does feel a little looser than before but I risked re-installing the drive and grabbed the top CD from the nearest pile 'The Great Escape".
I have already had delivered a Pioneer 112D which takes over as top drive. So now I have two working drives although the second I know I'll never really trust.
Moral of story: If you have the Sony in your Mac Pro and the tray stays out it can be removed without breaking it using carefully targetted brute force but at the cost of some worry any time a valuable disc goes in.

  • Where is the 'Find' feature?  It worked

I can't seem to find anything with Spotlight using Snow Leopard.  Since 1984 I have used the 'Find' feature with my Mac's and now nothing shows up when I use Spotlight.  Even though I can physically search for the item and find it exactly the way I searched for it but it will not show up.  What must I do?  Things just don't work like they used to.

    Try reindexing the drive.

  • Where are the Finder list view folder expand arrows

How do I do the same thing in Lion equivalent to the Finder List View folder expansion arrows? They're gone in the Application folder!

    Check the following:
    1. Go to Application folder (or any other folder with similar behavior)
    2. Chose "View" --> "Arrange by" --> "None"
    Guess this was it!
    Best!

  • Workflows stuck between steps not on steps

    Hi
We have upgraded from 4.6 to version 6 and erp2005 portal. The problem we are having is that a few of our old workflows seem to get stuck between steps and not on the step itself. 2 examples, the old sub workflow for to lock employees gets stuck on the arrow in the graphic between 'find employee' and 'lock employee' similarly if a 'process control' sets a work item to 'obsolete' to cancel it the process cancels the work item but does not fully exit the obsolete process branch and is stuck there on the arrow in the swi1 graphic. The workflow status is 'In Process' no errors are given.
Any ideas? Are there maybe notes that have to be implemented to correct a bug in the system?
Maximum points awarded for this. Thanks!

    Hi Lyndon Bell,
    <b>Updating Workflows</b>
    1. Changes to a productive workflow definition require a new version. The next workflow instance will be started using the new version
    2. Reactivate workflow after a definition change
    3. Running workflow instances are completed with the version with which they were started
    4. If you change a productive workflow definition, you should always consider creating a new task instead of a new version

  • HT4059 i purchased an ibooks but t is stuck in paused.  where is purchases so  I can press download to get my book

I bought ibook but it is stuck in paused.  where is the "purchases " key so I can get downloaded.

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
Try deleting the problematic book (electing to remove original file if/when prompted) and then re-downloading the file from the iBook store.
You can re-download content purchased from the iBook store (availability varies depending on location) using the purchased option from the Quick Links section in the top right corner of the iTunes homepage in your iTunes application on your computer.
You can re-download content purchased from the iBook store (availability varies depending on location) using the purchased option at the bottom of the screen after you tap the store button in the top corner of the iBook app on your iOS device.
If the problem re-occurs, select the content which is causing a problem and use the 'Report a problem' button in Your Purchase History using your computer.

QUESTIONS: I have an iphone 3gs.just updating to ios5. am at the stage where I chose to restore iphone via itunes. sync seems stuck at step 7 of 7: syncing artwork. Is this necessary and if not how do I get around it?

When I use find file http://www.macupdate.com/app/mac/30073/find-file (which does tend to find files that "Finder" can't), it's not coming up with any other itunes library files that have been modified in the past week, which I know it would have been - unfortunately, I don't have a very recent backup of the hard drive.  It would be a few months old so it wouldn't have the complete library on it....any ideas?  I'm wondering if restarting the computer might help but have been afraid to do so in case it would make it harder to recover anything...I was looking at this thread https://discussions.apple.com/thread/4211589?start=0&tstart=0 in the hopes that it might have a helpful suggestion but it's definitely a different scenario.

  • IPhoto '11 (9.3) - Won't upgrade library after update to 9.3 (gets stuck on Step 5)

Two weeks ago I upgraded iPhoto to 9.3 using the automatic Apple updater.  Thereafter, when I try to re-start iPhoto, iPhoto automatically attempts to upgrade the library using multiple steps.  Each time the process gets stuck on one of the steps, hanging for as long as I'd let it.  Force quit doesn't show the process/application as not responding, but I can kill the applicaiton and try again.
I see this is a somewhat common occurrence (for example, here), but I haven't yet found a solution that works, at least not for me.
Since this problem has started occurring, the process tends to get stuck at the end of step 5:
I have tried multiple solutions, including holding down alt/option or control when starting iPhoto for force a rebuild of the library (same result).  I reinstalled iPhoto from the App store (same result).  I went back to a version of my iPhoto library from before the problem started using a Time Machine backup of the iPhoto Library (same result).  And in response to some threads suggesting removing the files like com.apple.iPhoto.plist (see here) but I can't find any "com.apple.iPhoto.*" files on my HD.  Interestingly (maybe) I don't have a HD -> Users -> Home -> Library directory at all.  I only have a HD -> Library directory (although perhaps this is where it shows up for my primary account when I'm using this account).
I'd be very grateful for any help/suggestions/guidance.
For example, is there a log file showing the date that I upgraded to the newest iPhoto release so I can be sure I'm restoring an older iPhoto library?  Any other ideas?
    Many thanks!
    -DJg

I have try to do few things like rebuild library, intalling old version etc. at the end always i got images and events but I loose folders and albums.
    So finally
I bought external drive to make a copy of my images
I found my old backup of MAC OS X before upgrade to Lion and install them
All folers are existing so now I can imoprt only images from last two months and rearrange them into folders.
I will stay with version 9.2.3 and wait at least 1-2 month before I will install any new update from Apple.
