I am trying to install the update on iPhoto on my newMac laptop.  It tell me to go to finder and hit the "go meu" in the finder.   pulled down the go menu at the top of the screen and the finder icon on the bottom of ther screen.  Where is this "go menu?  Apple used to be inutitive - it is getting as hard to operate as Microsfot was in the beginning of the 200s.

Hisdoc,
This is a user to user forum. So, you cannot expect an instant answer - it is not a live chat.
Not sure why you can't find the "Go" option. It is in the top menu:

  • ? how to use something called quicktime. i click on its icon and it does nothing! i just bought quicktime 7 pro and have a registration

i just bought a macbook pro and never used apple before. i am trying to convert my movie clips and need to use something called quicktime. i click on its icon and it does nothing! i just bought quicktime 7 pro and have a registration # and it says open quicktime and enter the reg# - how do i do this?

When you start QT 7 player, under the first menu there is a "Registration" menu item.
Enter your name and Registration code, THEN hit the TAB KEY. Do not click the "Buy..." button.
    That should do it.
Make sure you have the CORRECT version of QT 7:

  • I click on iChat icon and nothing happens

I first got my Mac and clicked on the iChat icon and I didn't set up any accounts.
I clicked on it again the next day and nothing pops up. I don't know how to set up any accounts because no window pops up or anything.
I don't know how to work iChat because I click on it and nothing happens. What do I do?

    Hi,
    Welcome to the    Discussions
    To Expand on Defcom's answer
It is possible when starting ichat for the First time to Click through the Start Up Screens and not enter any info. (no Accounts).
When you restart iChat it has no Accounts and therefore no Buddy Lists to Display and "Nothing" appears to be the result.
However the Menu Bar should show (until you click the Screen or another icon in the Dock) iChat in the Menu Bar.
If this is the case, click on the word iChat (Menu will drop)
    Chose Preferences then Accounts.
You can then set up Accounts (Screen Names by pressing the + button at the bottom of the Left hand side (which should always List Bonjour whether you use it or not).

  • I have an issue with my trackpad and mouse at times where when I try to click on an icon and drag it somewhere, it wont drop. What causes this?

If I click on an icon or really anything for that matter and then try to drag and drop it, it wont drop. I have to press the esc key in order for it to drop. It only happens here and there. It stops happening randomly.  What would be causing this? Any help would be great. It doesn't matter if its on my trackpad or a connected mouse.

Which os version are you using?
Solution may be found if you search in the "More Like This" section over in the right column.

  • I click on firefox icon and this pops up: firefix.exe - Bad Image I can't even open it to click on any of troubleshooting ideas

I have already turned my computer on and off 5x. Each time I click on firefox icon this box pops up:
C:\Program Files(x86)\Mozilla Firefox\mozglue.dll is either not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error. Try installing the program again using the original installation media or contact your system administrator or the software vendor for support. (This came with the laptop and I have no idea who a system administrator is) While I was just on-line the computer locked up then it said it was doing updates. I closed the computer down and now when I try and open it the above happens. Mozilla is my home page. I was able to click on internet explorer to get to this stage.

do a clean reinstall and delete the Firefox program folder before reinstalling a fresh copy of Firefox.
    *C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\
    *http://kb.mozillazine.org/Installation_directory
Download a fresh Firefox copy and save the file to the desktop.
    *Firefox 16.0.x: http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all.html
Uninstall your current Firefox version, if possible, to cleanup the Windows registry and settings in security software.
*Do NOT remove personal data when you uninstall your current Firefox version, because all profile folders will be removed and you will also lose your personal data like bookmarks and passwords from profiles of other Firefox versions.
Remove the Firefox program folder before installing that newly downloaded copy of the Firefox installer.
*It is important to delete the Firefox program folder to remove all the files and make sure that there are no problems with files that were leftover after uninstalling.
Your bookmarks and other profile data are stored in the Firefox Profile Folder and won't be affected by an uninstall and (re)install, but make sure that "remove personal data" is NOT selected when you uninstall Firefox.

I downloaded OS X 10.9.5 and when I attempt to load the program from OS X 10.7.5 I click on the install icon and nothing happens. How do I install the upgrade? Can I upgrade from Lion to Mavericks? Here are my specs:
Sounds like you downloaded the OS X Mavericks 10.9.5 Update or Combo Update. Neither will work on a version of OS X prior to OS X Mavericks. Those are only used to update an existing install of OS X Mavericks. The Combo will update any version from 10.9.0 thru 10.9.4. The Update will only update version 10.9.4.
You need the full installer of OS X Mavericks from the App Store. However, the App Store no longer offers OS X Mavericks. Yosemite is the new FREE OS X.

  • ITunes library grayed out all the time- in between songs played. Must click on cloud icon and wait between each song played.

Whenever I invoke iTunes (doesn't matter if I'm opening the program or simply undocking it), my library is gray, and the little "cloud icon" next to "Music" has a horizontal lightning bolt in it.
If I click on the cloud icon with the bolt (which doesnt respond consistently, somtimes takes 3 or more clicks) it will change to animated diagonal stripes. When this is finished (takes 10 seconds to 10 minutes), I have access to my library.
Sometimes it lets me get through an album before the process restarts. Sometimes I have to go through this between each song. Generally, I perform the process for the first two songs, and then it will play the rest of the album uninterrupted.
Internet connection is always fine, I have confirmed in several instances.
I have added screen shots below... I couldn't add the "working library" step, because as of writing this, I can't get past step 2. So no music for me this morning.
BELOW: Greyed out library, step 1
BELOW: Animated striped icon, library still greyed out, step 2

Thanks for the reply. Did this just now, and no change.
FYI- I have deauthorized and reauthorized, signed out of my iTunes account, deleted pLists, etc before posting here. None of which affected the problem.

  • Clicking on mail icon and then the next screen displays, the mail icon if a faded green and i click on it and nothing happens; what's with that?

I have set up my POP mail account but I can't display my mail.  What's up with that. I have a POP mail account and it sounds like mail is going to my phone, because it shows I have 6 items in my mailbox; however I'm unable to see the mail????

    Reinstall OS X.

  • I can't find tools, add-ons, Sync (tabs, bookmarks, etc.). I've clicked on every clickable thing. Where is all this stuff? I prefer a menu with words I can read rather than pictures I have to guess, but I've clicked on every icon and can't find anything.

I just need someone to tell me how to access my add-ons, tools, options, Firefox Sync (including my tabs and bookmarks from other computers), and so on. Where did it all go?

Do you see what is missing when you hit the '''Alt''' key on your keyboard?

  • I click on firefox icon and it does not open

When I click on the firefox icon on the bottom of my screen nothing happens. It started acting up a few days ago. I have tried restarting the computer and it does not resolve the problem. I shut down the computer and restarted and was able to access firefox when clicking on the icon. When I existed and later tried to access firefox again nothing happened.

Can you start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]]</u> by holding down the Shift/Options key?
Boot the computer in Windows Safe Mode with network support (press F8 on the boot screen) to see if that works.

  • Big clicking Issue on icons and Safari

I am currently unable to click any icon, such as Spotlight, Safari or Documents, not even Shortcuts work at the moment, the keyboard is the only thing that works flawlessly. I restarted my laptop twice, but there is still nothing to do. Please help, I need this computer a lot for school. I'm looking forward to hearing possible and positive solutions.

Thank you very much Power-PC for your respond. The problem was solved in the meantime, after I had shut down my MacBook for 24 hours. Though, after you wrote me, that the cause of the problem comes from the battery, that is situated right below the trackpad, got me thinking. I recognized, that yes, in the past few days the battery removed itself a little away (at max. 0.1 inches)  from its actually supposed location. Nevertheless, the battery is not swelled. I sometimes accidentally pushed the battery lever, without having the intention to remove the battery. If the problem occurs ever again, then I'll get myself ready to go to an Apple Store, to purchase a new battery or to get my MacBook repaired if needed. Over again thank you, as you were a great help.
