HT5037 It all started when I couldn't order a Photo Book ... then I had to download Mavericks ... then the i-photo update ... How long DO you have to wait before you know if you actually have downloaded this?
It all started when I could not order a Photo Book ... then I had to download Mavericks ... then I tried to upgrade i-photo ... but it would not take my debit card ... so I had to find a credit card ... then it would download, but it took hours and did not confirm that it had downloaded ... which it hadn't because I still can't order a photo pbook ... then it would download ( but I suspect I may have had to pay for it twice ) .... and now i-photo won't open because it says I need the Library Upgrader ... and it too seems to have stopped halfway through downloading.
I JUST WANT TO ORDER A PHOTO BOOK. I HAVE THE MONEY. WHY ALL THE PROBLEMS? WHY, OH WHY, OH WHY?
Perhaps, as your problem seems to be with the App Store, you need to post on that forum or contact App Store support - there's a link on the right hand side of the App Store window.
A small tip: explaining your problem clearly is best. Wrapping it all up in idiosyncratic punctuation and histrionics doesn't make it any easier to understand, and gets in the way of solving your problem.

I did a fresh install of 10.6 and the upgrades got me to 10.6.8 but the included App Store from the upgrades requires 10.9. I cannot download Mavericks without the App Store. How do I find an old version of App Store or install Mavericks without the App Store? HELP!
Click the Apple top left in your screen.
From the drop down menu click: About This Mac
Double check to make sure you see: v10.6.8
Make sure your Mac can run Mavericks > OS X Mavericks: System Requirements
Read prior to upgrading to Mavericks > Upgrading to 10.7 and above, don't forget Rosetta! -
This all started when I bought my wife a new Ipod Nano and when I plugged it in the computer told me that I had to update to Itunes 10.4. I went to update and after it downloads I go to open and install it, it says that I have to update to OS X 10.6. So I update to OS X 10.6 and it tells me to update to OS X 10.5. I search for OS X 10.5 and everything is OS X 10.5.1 or later. Any help?

So you purchased (not a disc from a different Mac) OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard and installed it, yes? If so, 10.5 and 10.4 are completely out of the picture, unless you have some older software which requires something in 10.4 or 10.5 (but you make no mention of that).
So, with 10.6 installed, go to Applications > Utilities > Disk Utility > select your HD and run Repair Permissions. Allow it to finish > quit DU > go to Apple menu > Software Update > and run all the updates there. Repair Permissions again.

In iMovie 11, how can you cut/paste a clip that has subtitles and actually have the subtitles get cut/pasted. When I try, the subtitles disappear into the void and I have to do the subtitling all over again.

Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears. Release the Buttons.

Reset all settings
Settings > General > Reset > Reset all Settings.
This will return all iDevice settings to factory defaults... you will not lose any data.... But you will have to re-enter all of the device settings. -
I bought the song 'Go the Distance' by Michael Bolton. It said it had completed downloading but when I play my song it stops 1.01 minutes into it and goes onto the next song. How can I fix this?
It seems like alot of people are having this problem tonight. I dont know how to fix it but i hope apple fixes iTunes soon.

I have the 5.5 Lightroom software on my I-Mac with OS-X, 10.9.3. It seems I have lost 850 pictures I was developing. It all started when was adding a folder. A new screen came up with no photos. I went back to my external drive, trying to open the folder (containing the pictures I was working on), an icon "Thumbs" came up. When I click on it, a message "can't find the application" came up, there is no picture to be found. Please help. Frustrated-George

MacBook Air 13" running 10.7.5 When I click to download Mavericks in the App Store, nothing happens. What could be the solution?
There may be no progress bar apparent for Mavericks in the App Store. It may be a bug associated with this particular download.
To determine if it is actually downloading use Launchpad. You should see a fairly obvious new icon with an associated progress bar. Make sure you check every Launchpad page by swiping left / right.
If it's paused, click the icon to restart it.
Once it completes the icon will appear in Applications and Launchpad, it's just easier to find in Launchpad.
When it's finished downloading it looks like this:

Open the Mac App Store.
From the Store menu, choose Sign In.
Enter your Apple ID and password.
Click Purchases to get to your Purchases Page.
Click the Resume button next to the app name. -
I have copied many photo's from another laptop to my Mac. The older photo's are in directories with names that help me select what I need to view. I would like to have all my imported new photo's also bee added to the directory structure I have in Finder but my new photo's are all in iPhoto. I want to use directories for storing and iPhoto for viewing. Is this possible or do I need to have all my photo's in iPhoto??
MitchiPhoto is not a Photo Viewer. It's a Photo Manager and designed for looking after the files while you organise the Photos. It really works much better if you let it manage those files. If you use iPhoto you never go near those files because iPhoto is your start point for anything you want to do with your Photos - the point of the pplication.
You can run iPhoto in Referenced mode, where it does not copy the files to the Library, but I caution you that you are making life a lot more difficult for yourself by doing that.

Thanks for your prompt reply...but is there no solution to it...since the file download is almost 4.34gb..its a long download..internet is bound to go down for a while in such a long download..and whenever the net goes down for a minute or two I pause the download and restart..but everytime I restart it starts from the beginning...i believe for the earlier version i.e. Lion pause function was enabled and download used to begin from I have paused...I then successfully downloaded lion on the same internet network I now use at my home..Please help if you can or ne1 can..Many Thanks!!!

Using Firefox 27 on the Mac. Video on most sites will not now work. I know I am not alone with this problem. What gives?

Thank you for contacting support. I am also using your set up and I experience video issues when I have hardware acceleration turned on.
Other steps you can take to improve your experience:

Try disabling graphics hardware acceleration. Since this feature was added to Firefox, it has gradually improved, but there still are a few glitches.
You might need to restart Firefox in order for this to take effect, so save all work first (e.g., mail you are composing, online documents you're editing, etc.).
Then perform these steps:
*Click the orange Firefox button at the top left, then select the "Options" button, or, if there is no Firefox button at the top, go to Tools > Options.
*In the Firefox options window click the ''Advanced'' tab, then select "General".
*In the settings list, you should find the ''Use hardware acceleration when available'' checkbox. Uncheck this checkbox.
*Now, restart Firefox and see if the problems persist.
Additionally, please check for updates for your graphics driver by following the steps mentioned in the following Knowledge base articles:

I just got a new CD I would like to import. Recently my laptop has been malfunctioning so I can't import it there, so I have to import it on our family's main computer. When I try to import the CD, it'll get maybe a minute of the first song, then get maybe a second or two of the next couple, then get half of another, and repeat the same thing.
How can I fix this?
Please, it is getting on my nerves. I have updated the Itunes and fixed what I was told to do but it still does it.
What do I do?You're not alone, but for me, it doesn't happen very often. Maybe one in fifty. Sometimes it will read after multiple tries, but a few (two of the three Shins CDs) never work. This was a common problem two years ago when I first got my iMac (many discussions but no answers). I'll keep looking and I'll let you know if I find something.

Have a Droid Razr M that is stuck in the reboot screen. I tried a hard reboot and a factory reset, and it still gets stuck in the reboot screen. How long should I wait for the reboot to occur until it starts back up? I tried the steps for a factory reset given on this site, but it still does not want to work. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
