Trying to update my iPad. Caution memo states: To preserve content, apply this update on the computer where you sync apps, version 5.0.1. I have the latest itunes version 10.5.3. How do I get the latest 5.0.1 update on the computer?

I have a iphone I do not use as a phone anymore. I use the apps and the music on it though. I downloaded itunes and I am trying to update the phone so I can purchase music and apps for it. (1) Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility installer file (msicuu2.exe) from the following Major Geeks page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):

(2) Doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file and follow the prompts to install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (If you're on a Windows Vista or Windows 7 system and you get a Code 800A0046 error message when doubleclicking the msicuu2.exe file, try instead right-clicking on the msicuu2.exe file and selecting "Run as administrator".)
(3) In your Start menu click All Programs and then click Windows Install Clean Up. The Windows Installer CleanUp utility window appears, listing software that is currently installed on your computer.
(4) In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:

Follow these instructions. When you restore the iPod as the articles say the iPod will also be updated.

Correct. it does not magially appear in other places. It will only be where you put it.

Correct as well. Iphone will sync with one computer at a time. Syncing to another will erase the current content.
You need to copy everything ( itunes library/contacts/pics/calendars/files/docs) from the old computer, or your backup copy of the old one, to the new one.

the space that I am referring is the "screen" that pops up after I go to Apple icon - select System Preferences - the iCloud screen pops up and you are supposed to be able to click on the Photo Stream icon to turn Photo Stream on. Well, the icon "Photo Stream" is not highlighted and has no check box so that I can select it to get to the screen that will let me turn Photo Stream on.

You can't update the iPhone's OS on the iPad. ON THE iPHONE, check Settings > General > Software Update. If you don't see that, you need to connect to a computer with iTunes on it.

Trying to update hidden attibute in AD computer objects.

I am trying to update my AD computers using PowerShell to read the items from a CSV file. I have successfully updated the Description and other standard items, but I cannot get the non-common
hidden attributes to updated. I am very green on PowerShell. I'm not even sure I'm using the correct commands.
The contents of the CSV file looks like as below:
Name = preexisting Computer object name
Description = Information I want to place in the description field (Non-hidden \ standard)
comment = Information I want to place in the comments field (Hidden field)
name,description,comment

Im having the same problem after installing ios7.1
Checked the usb status and it sees an iphone ( 4s ) attached,
Repaired disc permissions
updated and reset iphone
and itunes
reinstalled mavericks from scratch
phone alert saying " TRUST THIS COMPUTER?"
hit trust
same alert keeps appearing
again and again
itunes keeps wittling on about "iTunes could not connect to this iPhone. You do not have permission."
what the actual F*** is going on and can anybody help ??????

- Yes. If you also want to retain app data, connect the iPod to the computer and make a backup by right clicking on the iPod under Devices in iTunes and select Back Up. Then restore from that backup. The restore will also update the iOS.
