I can recieve emails but cannot send them
Go to Mail>Preferences. Select the account that you cannot send e-mails. What does the line item, "Outgoing Mail Server" say? If none is selected, select one that best associated with the account.

Help! I can receive emails but I cannot send them. I have recently changed my password. What am I doing wrong?
You need to open Mail>Preferences>Accounts>"Account Information" tab>and there input the required information for your Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP). Your Internet Service Provider will have the required information to give you to input here. Make sure that you also click at the end of the line "Outgoing Mail Server" on the arrows to get the dropdown list, and there click on "Edit SMTP Server List" and fill in the data in that resulting window also.

I can receive emails, but I cannot send emails. This just started happening. I have an iPhone and I can send emails from my phone fine. It's just not working on my Macbook. Every time I try to send an email it goes straight to my outbox. Can anyone help?
Thank you for heading me in the right direction. I reset my Mail account for Outgoing Mail Server to outbound.att.net:(customer ID)@att.net (instead of smtp.att.yahoo.com, per Apple's online troubleshooting information). I'm not sure what "(Offline)" means when it appears at the end of my Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP)?? In the Advanced box I clicked on "Use custom port: 465" and checked "Use Secure Sockets Layer." Authentication: Password; I have correct User Name and Password put in. After doing all this, when I try to send emails again today, they go directly to the Outbox and sit there.
What's curious is that my first sent email this morning did go out using the Outgoing Mail Server, smtp.att.yahoo.com: (customer ID)@att.net(Offline) but subsequent emails I tried to send with this server were rejected with the message: "Cannot send message using the server smtp.att.yahoo.com (etc.). The SMTP server doesn't support TLS(SSL) on port 587. Verify your account settings and try again." That's when I tried resetting my Outgoing Mail Server to outbound.att.net (etc.), as mentioned above, and was unsuccessful in sending out any further emails. I guess my next step is to contact my email service provider, AT&T, and see if they can help me. Thanks, again, for taking the time to respond and for giving me your input! Much appreciated! -

Title says it all
Hey kenth93939!
Here is an article for you about group messages that has some helpful information and troubleshooting tips for this issue:
iOS: Understanding group messaging
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5760
The Group Messaging setting applies only to MMS messages.
Your wireless carrier may restrict the maximum number of recipients allowed in a group message with MMS.
Disabling Group Messaging has no effect on iMessage behavior. Responses to group iMessages are always sent to all recipients.
Group messaging with MMS requires an appropriate plan from your carrier for use on iPhone.
Carrier messaging rates may apply when using group messaging with MMS.
Additional Information
It is not possible to remove yourself from a group message.
To add or remove recipients, you must create a new group message conversation.
If you experience an issue with iMessage, SMS, or MMS messaging, try the steps outlined in this article.
To learn more about SMS, MMS, and iMessage see iOS: Using Messages.
Thanks for being a part of the Apple Support Communities!
Cheers,

I can rreceive emails, but I cannot send emails.
I can receive emails, but I cannot send emails.
Can you be a bit more specific, since all you've provided is a vague statement?
Are you using webmail? An email client? If an email client, which one? What are your settings? Was it working before? Getting any error messages? If so, what are they EXACTLY?
If you're using webmail, what browser are you using? What's your operating system? Again, was it working before? What happens when you try to send an email?
Remember, when posting to a Help forum, we are not sitting next to you or have access to your computer, so giving as much information [no personal identifying information, however] as possible goes a long way in helping you resolve the problem as quickly as possible. -
I can receive mail, but I cannot send mail, my mobile broadband is 3 and my server is BT
I can receive mail, but I cannot send mail, my mobile broadband is 3 and my server is BT. I have been to the Apple Store today. They did not resove my problem. Can anybody help?
Try this. Check the primary outgoing mail server username and password and make sure that they are in the settings even if it says that they are optional.
Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > select the account > account name , tap on SMTP (under the 'Outgoing Mail Server' heading) and then tap on your Primary Server and try entering your email account and password and see if you can then send emails. -

Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
Or this - Delete the account in Mail and then set it up again. Settings->Mail, Contacts, Calendars -> Accounts Tap on the Account, then on the red button that says Remove Account.

I cannot send emails regardless of wifi connection but an read them no problem I don't understand the problem
Check your iPhone's Email settings in Settings/Mail, Contacts, Calenders then selec the account. Make sure the Outgoing Mail Server is properly set. It may or may not be the same as the Incoming server. Contact your email provider for the proper address. If the address is properly set try trunning "Use SSL" off as well as ensuring the proper username and passord is enter here as well.

I have tried everything. Any ideas?
If you truly tried everything there is no hope of ever making it work. But perhaps you missed something, so here are a few things (and if you've tried them...)
Reboot the phone by holding the HOME and SLEEP buttons at the same time until an Apple logo appears
Go to Settings/Mail,contacts,calendars, tap on a mail account. Make sure there's an entry for SMTP or Outgoing mail server (You may need to tap on Account to see the entry)
Tap on SMTP and make sure you have entered your email name and password (even if it says "optional")
If there's more than one server listed make sure the appropriate one for that account is the primary
If all of the above is correct delete the account, reboot the phone, and add the account back
