HT5085 iTunes Match not working on Apple TV?

I am unable to connect to Match since updating ATV to latest OS. Fine from my iPad?

A lot of people are having these problems since the recent software updates to iTunes and the Apple TV.
You can report the problem here - the more of us that tell Apple about it, the more likely they are to fix it. You could also send a short email headed 'Apple TV update problems' to

    It sounds like you may be having some network connectivity issues, which would explain why your Wi-Fi enabled devices are encountering the problems. It may be good to run through the following network troubleshooting articles:

    Try a Restart. 
    Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red "slide to power off" slider appears, and then slide the slider. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.
     Resetting your settings
    You can also try resetting all settings. Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings. You will have to enter all of your device settings again.... All of the settings in the settings app will have to be re-entered. You won't lose any data, but it takes time to enter all of the settings again.
    Resetting your device
    Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears. Apple recommends this only if you are unable to restart it.
    Or if this doesn't work and nobody else on the blog doesn't have a better idea you can contact Apple.

  • ITunes match not working on any device?

    I cannot get it working at all. When I try to enable on my iPhone it pops up the cloud and loading bar, then disappears almost straight away. If I try to load on Apple TV it says "there was a problem connecting to iCloud. Try again later" If I try on my Macbook it will send results, but will have the cloud with lightning bolt suggesting match is down...
    Yet if I got to the iCloud status page everything is apparently fine and should be working. I cannot believe all 3 of my systems are wrong. I even did a full reset of my phone to be sure and still won't work.

    iTunes Match has a series of updates / fix underway in the background, sadly no annoucement from Apple to cover.  Suggest as a short term free alternate Google Play Music and the gBeats app on IOS - it just works for up to 20000 Songs.
    iTunes Match is working in the UK but can be unusually slow, certainly it can not be relied upon - a great pity.

    Hi!
    I enabled iTunes Match on my iPhone 4.
    I downloaded some songs to keep them stored on my device.
    All worked like a charm.
    I restored my iPhone 4 to correct some issue, but now the songs I downloaded doesn't play!
    All my iTunes Match is working, except for those songs.
    They still appear as downloaded on my device, if I tap on them, they appear as playing, but there is no sound, nor the playing bar goes on.
    If I connect the iPhone to iTunes Mac via USB, this songs don't appear in the list.
    How can I fix it?

    I was informed by an Apple representative that match won't yet work with ios devices becuase it is still in beta testing.  Has anyone got itunes match to work with their iphone? 

    On the east coast in NJ. Cannot access iTunes Match on IOS device or on Apple tv. If I am on wifi, I cannot play any music on my iphone or apple tv. Even those songs downloaded to the iphone wont play. But if I turn off the wifi, then those songs on the iphone will play. On the apple tv, no music from iTunes Match will play. Also failing on my MacBook pro. This needs to get fixed soon.

  • Why can't I play purchased movies on my Apple TV? And why does iTunes match not work on my Apple TV?

    I have an Apple TV (early 2012) and bought some movies in the iTunes store. Now, Apple TV doesn't let me watch my purchased content. I very well can listen to music I have bought in the iTunes store and watch the purchased movies on my iphone 6 (running the latest iOS 8) and on my MacBook Air (running the latest version of Yosemite). I can also rent movies on Apple TV and watch them - no problem at all.
    The other problem I have is that I activated iTunes Match on my Apple TV. But it doesn't work either. On my Mac and on my iphone - there's no problem. On Apple TV instead there is always appearing the message, that it will take a couple of minutes to setup iTunes Match  on Apple TV. Well... that is too nice to be true! It takes hours and even after that it doesn't work at all.
    I checked the forums and tried different things:
    1. Updating my Apple TV's software to the latest release
    2. Restoring all settings of my Apple TV and taking it offline (meaning: logging out of iTunes on Apple TV and taking it off power)
    3. Restarting my modem and router after half a minute break and taking it off power.
    4. Setting up Apple TV again and reconnecting it with iTunes and my WLAN-router.
    5. I also wanted to Airplay the screen of my MAC or iphone to Apple TV -> doesn't work (even though I can watch the movies on this two devices without any problems). Other content can be airplayed to Apple TV without any problems as well.
    -> Nothing seems to work!
    When I tried to play the moves the following to messages appear:
    1. iTunes is currently unavailable. Try again later. (But Apple TV recognizes how much of the movie has been watched already. It indicates that it is connecting and authorizing... and after that the message above appears). OR
    2. Apple TV says that the movie will be ready to be watched in two hours from now... or that you have to chose a lower resolution, if you want to watch it any sooner.
    Does anyone face the same difficulties? And of course: Does anyone know any cure and salvation for my Apple TV? ;-)

    There's an issue currently that a lot of us are experiencing in that we all get the error message "iTunes is currently unavailable; please try later"
    It's an issue with Apple and we're awaiting an update re this
    I've posted a topic in regards to this after having a long conversation with Apple support this morning and will be receiving a call from their tech team tomorrow to run through it further
    As it stands iTunes cannot be accessed via ATV's and nor can it be streamed via AirPlay from iTunes to the ATV
    However I can access all films/iCloud content via my Mac Mini with no issues!

    I paid for itunes match and now I cannot locate it on my iphone. Yes setting is on and  all my music is now gone and I have no music to play now.
    Also itunes match does not appear in my icloud. I only have 1 apple ID.
    The payment went through OK. How long does itunes match take? It has been 2 days of watching it go through step 1-3 over and over and says at the end I have 1000 songs available in the cloud. I triied a system re-booot and itunes match still repeats steps 1-3.

    I got it working by waiting for itunes match to complete, then go to the itunes store on your computer and choose store/ if match set to on then tunr it off.....then on again. Check music on iphone 4.

  • Itunes match not working on windows

    On my windows pc, my itunes match is not working. When i look at my library it is all greyed out and itunes tells me to sign out and then sign back in on the itunes store. But that only fixes the problem temporarily. If i close itunes and reopen it, i have to do this process all over again. If anyone has any insight as to why this is happening it would be much appreciated.
    OS: Windows 8
    Itunes version: 11.0.5 (newest version at the time of writing this) 64 bit

    I am having exactly the same issue and also for me "everything used to work fine".  It's only been in the past 2 weeks when I deleted a bunch of songs that now my songs won't play, or the next song in the playlist plays while still showing the former song, or entire albums just don't play at all.
    It seems like is started for me when I unchecked "show all music library" in my Music Settings so I would only see the music that I had downloaded to my phone.  But I have tried "show all music" again and turning off and on iTunes Match but nothing seems to help.
    This is a real problem...hopefully Apple can get this one fixed or someone has a solution...

  • ITunes Match not working anymore!

    So I recently restored my iPhone 5 because of an excessive amount of "other" on it. I have done this before with no problem. I have an iTunes Match subscription and never before has it been affected by the restore process. This time however it is no longer working. My library shows up on my phone, nothing is grayed out, but when I tap on the song it won't play and then it starts skipping through every track. Also my tracks that weren't purchased through the store (tracks I had downloaded from Amazon, uploaded from my CDs, etc) do not show up on my iPhone. The weird thing is that at the top of the songs list where it says how many songs there are, the number keeps spazzing out and changing every second as if it is still counting songs. It's also not letting me download any songs.
    I recently changed my Apple ID email/username/password but it didn't affect my Match account before. I've tried turning Match on and off on both my laptop and iPhone multiple times, I've tried updating...nothing works!
    I know this is a complicated question, but has this happened to anyone else? Please help me if you can!
    My iPhone 5 is running 7.1.2 and my iTunes is 11.3.

    According to Apple's knowledge-based articles, iTunes match is not available in Belgium.
    The terms and conditions of using your US Apple ID states that you must use this service within the boundaries of the US.

    I have just updated ATV3 to 5.1 and now there is no content available via itunes match. It did work before the update and my other ios devices do find all my music, just ATV does not. Anybody else with the same issue? Btw, I'm located in Germany. Thx.

    Same here, located in the US. Itunes match cannot get access to my music, the Apple TC is acting strange with the network. I have tried both wired and wireless. Seems to have less of an issue with a unsecure wireless connection over the rest though.
    Cannot get any music or play lists to load, no artwork.
    I have even restored the device. Same deal.
