Does closing apps save battery life? If so, is there a way to close all apps at once?

There is no way to close all apps at once. When you leave an app , most apps stop working immediately. A few apps will continue to complete the task they were working on. Mail is an example of that. There is a short time limit though after which the app stops running and the state you left it in is stored. Quitting apps does not increase battery life.

  • Is There A Way To See All Apps And Songs You Purchase?

I wanted to buy a song from iTunes with my gift card credit. When I scrolled to see my credit i didnt think it was right .So after adding up all the things I know I purchased the amount left over wasn't the same as the credit it was showing. So is there a way to see all of your purchases from the app store and iTunes store at one time?

  • Is there a way to close an app without it going in background multitasking?

    Hi guys,
I find annoying having to always doubletap the home button to close whatever application I have just used ( such as after checking an email).
When i don't need the app to run in the background withiltitasking is there a way just to kill it here and there as soon as I've finished using it?
    Many thanks
    Nico

I agree that voice control is useless. That's why on my phone when you hold down the home button, the quick compose for text comes up. This way, I can send a text no matter what I'm doing (surfing, watching a vid, gaming, etc..)
Also, stop being one of those people that worries about multitasking. They're not really running. After checking your email, there is no benefit gained from killing the application.

  • After upgrading ipad to iOS 7.1 I can no longer close open apps by double clicking home button. Any other way to close open apps?

After upgrading ipad to iOS 7.1 I can no longer close open apps by double clicking home button.  Any ideas

Double-tap on the Home button. You will see a preview of the app above the actual icon. Slide the preview up to kill it.

  • Is there a way to close background apps on my iPhone 3G running iOS 4.2.1? I'm getting crazy!!!

I'm running iOS 4.2.1 on my iPhone 3G and it's getting very slow because i cant close the apps that i finished to use (can't close bg apps). If you would help me i'll appreciate il very much

It's likely running slow because of iOS4, not because of apps being open.  Standard troubleshooting...
Try a reset by pressing the home and sleep buttons until you see the Apple logo, ignoring the slider. Takes about 5-15 secs of button holding and you won't lose any data or settings.
If still a problem restore from your backup.
If still a problem restore as new, i.e. without your backup. See how it runs with nothing synced to it.
You'll most likely need to restore as new to get it running as good as it can.  A 3G will never run as good on iOS4 as it did on iOS3.

  • Close all apps at once?

    Hi,
Any way to close all apps running with one fell swoop? Keyboard command for example? Thanks

I think the only way would be to create an Applescript that closes all open processes and use QuicKeys or QuickSilver to create a hot key. Here is the script. I don't know if you need to except out the Finder, but I did and gives you the ability to do the same for others that you might want to keep open. If you don't want to use the hot key options, you could always save the script as an app and put it in the dock for one-click quitting. Copy the following to a Script Editor window and save as an application.
    tell application "System Events"
set quitList to name of processes whose background only is false
    end tell
    repeat with anApp in quitList
if anApp is not in {"Finder"} then
    tell application anApp
    quit
    end tell
    end if
    end repeat

  • How do you save battery life by closing programs under i0S7?

How do you save battery life by closing programs under 0S7?  You used to click the home button twice, but now, since the update of 0S7, this feature seems to be gone.

click the home button twice, when you see the apps line up on the page, swipe the ones you want to close up and off the page. Scroll to access more apps, tap the home button once to exit the mode
For battery issues, look in the notifications. iOS7 defaults a lot on that you may not need. Also look to the background updating of apps. That can drain battery too.

How do I delete recently used apps on bottom of phone?  I used to double click and it would allow me to delete to save battery life.

All you have to do is double tap the home button to bring up the multi-tasking view, then swipe up on the screenshot of the app you want to exit.

  • How to save battery life on iPod touch 5g?

Give me tips on how to save battery life on iPod touch 5g.It dies out very quickly.

    Turn down the screen brightness
Look into notifications. it defaults to everything being on and you can turn off most if not all of them.
Check your e-mail. If it's on push that means it's reaching out for new mails every so often, turning it to fetch means that it only goes to get mail when you tell it to.
Look at some of your apps. Some of them may be doing things in the background that you don't realize and you can tweak those to not run when you don't need them to run.

  • How to save battery life for ios 7

How do you save battery life

There is many things to help save battery life on IOS, hear are some battery saving tips I use when with low battery  .
Battery saver 1: Turn off Bluetooth , by going to "Settings>Bluetooth" and switching the little "On/Off" toggle.
Battery saver 2: Turn down the screen brightness half way or just below is fine, for at home, but if you use your idevice outside turn it up just below max brightness so you can see the screen, to turn up or down brightness you can navigate to "Settings>Wallpaper and Brightness" and there will be a slider to adjust brightness.Or if you are on IOS 7 you can swipe up from the bottom of the screen and it will bring up "Action Centre" and there will be a little sun icon, next to it will be another brightness slider, to exit "Action Centre" press the home button or just swipe the little down arrow.
Battery saver 3: Volume turn the volume up and down at certain times of day "eg: I turn volume up full or just below in the afternoons because most things are going on in the afternoon that probably make lots of noise, and at night turn it down because your ears have adjusted to quietness  and can pickup on quieter sounds".
Battery saver 4: Turn off WIFI when not in use "eg when playing games or just switched off" you can do this by going to "Settings>WIFI" there will be a "On/Off" toggle or via "Action Centre" "IOS 7+".
Battery saver 5: When your not going to be using your device for a while shut it down by holding the "Sleep/Wake" button.
Battery saver 6: Close apps running in the background by double tapping the home button and holding down the running apps then tap the little "-" minus in a red circle to close "IOS 6 and lower", things are a little different with IOS 7 its the same process of double tapping  the home button but a different way to execute the apps, you do this by swiping "Up" on the open apps. "Tip: You can swipe 3 at once!".

  • Save battery life

To help save save battery life turn of apps. This can only be done on ios4 and i have a 3gs. When on the home page double click and all open apps will appear on bottom of screen. Hold finger on one of the apps for a few seconds and the open apps icons will wiggle and a round red minus sign will appear. Touch minus sign to turn of apps, other wise they are always running in the background even though you think they arnt!!! It works for me. Good luck.

  • Does iCloud Sync reduce battery life?

Just acquired on iPhone4S & I cant see the point of iCloud.
If I switch off iCloud sync will it not save battery life?
Why do we need iCloud? Cant we just continue backing up to iTunes?

iCloud does significantly more than back up, indeed unless you don't have a computer to back up to, I wouldn't recommend you use iCloud for back up. I suggest you read up on what else iCloud does before deciding not to use it, but yes in some circumstances there will be no point in using it and you can turn it off, and will presumeabally save you some battery.
