How do I insert the SIM card into the iPad mini?  It is different tray to iPad 3. Please advise. Thank you.

Hi Try the number 0000 or 1234 If this doesn't work ask for a PUCK code from your sim provider Also try the Passcode you use when you  turn iPad on Its a good think to have a simlock because if you lose your iPhone /iPad someone can use your  Simcard If it's not got a lock on. Cheers Brian

Can I connect a sim card to my ipad mini (WiFi)
Nope. You cannot connect sim cards to iPads. You can insert them into the iPad's sim tray if it has one. Which if its is a Wifi only model it wil not have the tray nor the cellualr hardware to do anytihng with it.

  • Which SIM card does the iPad mini take? Does it have to be specific type of SIM for the iPad mini?

Welcome to the Support Communities. The answer to your question is available in Apple's website — see the Input/Output section here:

Can I put my iphone sim card into my ipad mini?

Depends on the model of iPhone, and the actual cellular plan it has.
If its an iPhone 5 with an unlimited Data Plan you may be able to do it.
Any other model of iPhone or a plan without a data packcage will not work.

  • My nano SIM works in my Nokia mobile phone but "No SIM" when in my iPad mini

I've been around the support loop a few times with varying levels of success, here is my story.
Basically I expect to only occasionally require mobile data services so would like to move my nano SIM from my Nokia mobile phone to the iPad mini as and when required. I have a 500Mb data allowance on my current contract with Vodafone UK which I never use but would like to access with my iPad mini.
The first time I tried it worked! I never tried to surf using it but it registered with Vodafone UK OK and had a good signal level. The second time “No SIM” or “SIM not installed” popup at bootup.
Now irrespective of contracts, tariffs, data plan etc I expect the iPad mini to recognise there as being a SIM present every time and never give “No SIM” except of course when there isn’t one physically in the thing.
Playing along to support and forum suggestions I’ve done a couple of device resets (software reinstalls) and various setting resets. But still “No SIM”.
I’ve also spoken with Vodafone UK and am investigating whether this is in fact some restriction where they’ve restricted the technology so SIM swapping is not allowed. My Nokia E51 is not locked as have had it years.
I just cannot get past the “No SIM” message though!

Do have the details as to why that is?
The single time it recognised the nano SIM and showed as being connected to Vodafone UK I tried to ring it to see what would happen, it just rang out until voicemail picked up but nothing happened on the iPad mini whatsoever.

  • Wifi issues with iPad mini since iOS 8 update

I Have a First Gen iPad Mini now running on iOS 8.1 . Since the original update of IOS8 . I have had issues with Wifi it connects disconnects itself always looking for a signal.. Nerve had this issue before update of the new IOS 8. It's extremming slow and the apps and Safari keep crashing.. It becomes unresponsive unable to click on website . It also freezes .. I've have numberous  times  done a complete factory reset . Still having issues. I have reset my router and I don't have any issues with any wifi at the house. I do have a iPhone 5 that had the exact issue as my IPad mini but it was replaced under warranty via Best Buy. When I reciecevd my iPhone it was still operating on IOS 7 . The gentlemen at Geek Sqd told me to NOT to upgrade the software till Apple gets a fix.. They had a lot of people in with the same problem and there devices needed to be replaced. My last resort would be to go to the Apple Store and hopefully they can help or buy a new IPad. As far as the new iPad Air2 I have seen here they too are having issues.. Hopefully Apple can fix this soon.. Till then I will not be upgrading my iPad if a new one will have the same issues..

My iPad Mini 32GB w/4GB free space is working OK.
Downloaded IOS 8.1 thru iTunes on iMac
    Unplug cord from iMac
    iPad
    Reset all Settings
    Reset Network Settings
Hook up iMac and iPad then trust computer
    Computer accept iPad
Download Camera Roll pics to iMac
Complete iPad Auto download to iMac in iTunes
    Sign on to iTunes
    Log on to Wi-Fi
Unplug iPad from iMac and all is good so far after 2 hours.

  • Typing issue on ipad mini

On my old ipad when I touched a spot where I needed to type the screen would move and I could follow along while I was typing. On my ipad mini the screen doesn't move and I can't see what I am typing. What do I do?

To fix the keyboard issue do this:
First get the keyboard visible then tap and hold on the keyboard key in the lower right corner of the keyboard. Select dock keyboard.
Then reboot your device. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously ignoring the red slider until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the device restart. See if that fixes your problem.

  • Music issue on iPad mini

I've been having problems with getting music onto my iPad mini.  Doesn't matter if it's from music match or syncing from iTunes.  The music files do not transfer or download.  None at all.  I've restored the iPad.  I reset it twice.  Nothing seems to help.

So I actually "fixed" it. The headphones I was using had a built in remote. I switched that wire to a standard one (it came with both) and I no longer have the issue. Seems the Sony remote built into the headphone wire wasn't compatible with the iPhone...

  • Is anyone having any uneven or discoloured screen issues with iPad mini or iPad 4th Gen?

Hello, in view of the fact that many users had screen discolouration issues and uneven backlight issues with the iPad 3rd Gen, I wonder if those issues have been sorted out. Has anyone here had any screen issues with the iPad mini, or the iPad 4th Gen?

    No.

  • Hotmail issues for Ipad mini

We have been having problems connecting to hotmail and they have been experiencing server issues . They now say this is fixed yet after several reboots , reinstalls and checking set up had intermittment service. I searched the internet and found this guys instructions in you tube to set up email as Other account.
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AqGohK7JW9o
I did this and it works well , unfortunately the saved folders and sent mail did not come through.
Important note for outgoing server step his step where he changes port from 587 to 995 , set straight to 25, incoming server is good. Also the incoming server on Ipad mini is easily visible, to go to outgoing server just click on smtp.live .com in mail setup and you have to put your email and password in again
I sent some mail and all OK.
Keep your hotmail account alive as this will still sync your contacts and calendar etc as it appears only mail is the problem.
So you will now have 2 email accounts , when you name this one just change name to Ipad hotmail or similar.
maybe one day hotmail will work properly, but for now at least you can get and send mail.

If I am reading your question correctly, you seem to asking for a product recommendation. Probably not gonna happen in this forum.
But I found a simple Google search for "best data projector for ipad" yielded quite a good list of hits, some of which refer to this very fine forum.
Hope this helps. I used to be a road warrior myself. My Computer Nickname is "Roadrunner" (beep beep!!)

  • Yahoo mail issues on iPad mini and iPhone 5s/ iOS8?

Yahoo mail suddenly shows "no mail" in the inbox.  Using the Yahoo! SMTP Server on iPad mini w/Retina, iPhone 5S, both with iOS 8.  Tried rebooting, deleting and re-installing yahoo.  I can still send.  Yahoo mail on mac, mobile web, and yahoo downloadable app works.  I have resorted to downloading the Yahoo mobile app.  Any suggestions on getting the device mail to work again?

I have the same problem. At the bottom of the inbox window, it momentarily says "Downloading 1 of 250" then quickly changes to "Updated Just Now" without displaying any email. All other folders show mail!!! Only the inbox does not display email. I have also tried hard-resetting the iPhone.

  • Photo sharing issues between iPad mini 2 and Macbook Pro

    Hi
I'm trying to share two albums from iPhoto on my macbook to my iPad mini 2. However, nothing seems to be working, iCloud and Photostream aren't communicating between the two devices, bluetooth keeps telling me that my iPad is not equipped to receive these jpegs. Both devices are on the same apple ID account and i've done everything i can think of to change my sharing and privacy settings to allow the transfer, can anyone offer any advice as to how I can fix this problem??

You can't use Bluetooth to share the photos unless you use AirDrop and your Mac has to meet certain requirements in order to do that. You can read about that here.

I'm not sure why you just wouldn't sync the photos using iTunes. That's how I move my iPhoto albums and events from my MBP to my iOS devices. The newest iTunes interface is not the same as this one, but the process still works the same way.

  • Issues With iPad mini after upgrading to iOS 8.1.2......

WWish I'd checked the forums first, but I upgraded to 8.1.2. A few days ago and have had nothing but issues.
FIrst -- it takes twice to three times as long to boot up my device.
After the apple logo disappears, the screen is just black for the longest time
Then eventually I hear a faint "DING" and the screen eventually gets lighter but this takes about 5-6 minutes
Haven't had time to check the new manual.... Is this normal?
second -- Lots of freeze ups doing any variety of functions
third -- When tapping to diwnload a WORD attachment in an e-mail.... the circle graph loads properly but the document never opens when tapped.
I'm not sure which is the most frustrating, plus there's no way to TURN OFF that dorm Emoji Keyboard which just gets in my way far too often!!
any body have any work around for any of these???
i No longer love my iPad...that's for sure.

How do you know some stop halfway and others barely start? What are you seeing? While it is possible an app is not compatible with iOS 8.1.2, but I doubt it. If it was working with iOS 8, then it will work with 8.1.2. Try signing out of the App Store and sign back in again.
