HT5172 I just got a new MacBookPro 15" Retina....I plugged my ipad into the USB port and it does not recognize it? HELP
The USB ports don't seem to be working for any device....I have tried with IpadAir, Iphone5 and 3rd party devices...NOTHING Please help

I have just received a brand new iphone 4 in the mail. I have plugged it in using the apple wall charger for around 3 hours now and it does not seem to be doing anything. Tried to plug it into the computer, again no response. Trying to turn it on has not had any success either. Should I be concerned that the screen is blank and not showing a charging symbol?? I put a HP flash drive into a USB port and it never shows in finder under devices. I want to copy photos to it to load onto a electronic picture frame. Why doesn't the flash drive show in finder?
First, open up the Apple System Profiler by choosing Apple Menu > About This Mac, and then click More Info.
then select USB off the hardware list. If your flash drive is connected to the system, it will appear here. If it does not appear, there is a problem with either the port or the drive.
If the flash drive shows up in the system profiler, the problem is in your Finder preferences. Finder prefs (⌘+comma) allow you to designate what shows up on the desktop and Finder sidebar. -
I just purchased a new Linksys E2500 router. It will connect to all my other devices, but does not recognize the password when sent from the PowerBook G4. When I try it responds that the password is invalid. I have connected my MacBook Pro, iPad and iPod Touch with the same password.

To change to iCloud ID on your phone you have to go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, provide the password for the old ID then sign in with the new ID. If you don't know the password for the old ID, and if the old ID is an earlier version of your current ID, go to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID. Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change. Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address. You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iPhone on your device, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud). Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was. Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.

i plugged in my ipod touch last night to update to latest version and there was some sort of problem and it said i needed to restore so i did. And now it just keeps saying it can not find my ipod. it used to say "crystal's Ipod" now it says "ipod" on the left. HELP!

! just got a new docking system so i plugged it in to my computer because it wasnt the wall charge type, so I put in my ipod, then straight away my screen went white and now its not doing anything! i press the home and lock button nothing happens... then i plug it in my computer it doesnt come up in itunes or even the copmuter. please help i can not live with out my ipod!
Your post is abit confusing, especially on getting those weird messages and emails,( assumed in your Windows machine.)
Most likely you have Restored the iPod using the new Macbook pro, using the same name as that in your Windows machine, hence the duplicate name warning, as it is trying to sync Automatically.
If you are syncing your iPod to both the Mac and Windows, you must set it to Manually Manage Music, in the first machine that you setup iTunes with the iPod. Read thsi Apple Support Article
In iTunes, Preference, tick on Prevent devices syncing automatically
Hopefully your music are still in both your iTunes library,
Connect the iPod to the Mac
Restore it (just to fix any filesystem corruption by the Windows end)
Set it to Manually Manage Music
Sync your selected songs in your library.
Whern sync complete, Eject it
Connect it to your Windows PC.
Select the song in the library
Sync it.
It should work if your ipod Hardisk is not giving any problem.

On the new computer, launch iTunes. From the menu bar click click Store / Authorize This Computer.
