HT5192 Does it delete everything again?

Last time I updated my iPod touch it deleted all apps and music.

One way to prevent this is to update on the iPod rather than in iTunes. Go to Settings > General > Software Update (if you have iOS 5.0 or later).
When updating in iTunes, for some reason, I've observed that the iPod appears to be done with the update before iTunes is actually done restoring content. People look at their iPod, assume it's done, and unplug it before things get restored. That's why the best way is to update on the iPod.
