HT5192 Error downloading IOS 5 update

I have tried three times to download and install the latest update but I am getting a message stating Error installing update. Can anyone help?

What does the error message say?
The Apple download servers are overloaded with users trying to download the iOS update. Try in the early AM or late PM or wait a few days.

  • Our students have entered passcodes when downloading ios 7 update and now ipads are locked, help!

Our students have entered passcodes when downloading ios 7 update and now ipads are locked, help!

If the iPad is running iOS 7 and the kid set up Find My IPad, then you can't restore it without the kid's Apple ID and password. The Activation Lock is a feature that people whined and whined to get, and is causing exactly the sort of problems many of us predicted when people were clamoring for it. If you can't get the kid's Apple ID, you'll have to call Apple Support and ask if they have any sort of workaround. My guess is that they'll have to replace the iPad, but they may have a solution they don't talk about publicly.
This won't help for iPads currently locked for which you can't get the Apple ID, but if before you give out iPads to your students you go into the Restrictions and disallow changes to the accounts, they can't then turn in Find My iPad. Or you can set up Find My iPad yourselves to your own accounts and then lock the Restrictions so they can't set iCloud up to an account to which you don't have the Apple ID.
    Regards.

  • Just downloaded iOS 7 update

Just downloaded iOS 7 update & now iradio is gone.  How do I get it back?  Tried signing back into iTunes account.  Doesn't work.  I have a strong wifi connection so that is not it.  Any suggestions?

You are in the USa., right? iTunes radio is currently only in the USA
    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.

This is a common issue and a solution could have been quickly found by doing a search.

  • TS3694 error 3014 ios 6 update

Hi, I get this error each time when I try to update my iphone 4.
    Kindly
    Sebastian

I just got hit with this too, with 10.8.2 (today's update). Same problem after repeated attempts to redownload the update. My New iPad was stuck in reset mode, asking to be restored in iTunes. (Essentially bricked.)
From what I've found online, this has happened to others who have tried to download an update on the day of its release when Apple's servers are jammed. After I stopped kicking myself, I found one solution that helped.
    Quit iTunes
Retrieve a copy of a previous, 5.1 .ipsw file from a backup (iPad3,1_5.1.1_9B206_Restore.ipsw) and put it somewhere convenient. It's located in ~/Library/iTunes/iPad Software Updates
When you are back in iTunes, hold down the Option key while clicking Restore
Navigate to the older .ipsw file you recovered
    Click Okay
Follow these forums and wait a few days before trying to download iOS 6 again
iTunes will first restore the firmware, restart the iPad, then restore your settings, restart again, and then restore your software. Step 5 is the longest and you'll see your icons reappear and then be able to watch the little blue progress bars as they reload.
I spend a good half hour Googling and trying solutions. This one is getting me back into acton.
It seems I am getting bad downloads from Apple. Between failed updates, I removed the new ipsw file (iPad3,1_6.0_10A403_Restore.ipsw) from the Software Updates folder between tries so I could get fresh downloads.
(By the way, I realize that this is an iPhone thread, but this may help.)

  • IPhone 4 - extreme errors downloading iOS 5

    Hello, please help me!
My name is John and I am 16 years old.
I attempted to download iOS 5 a few hours ago, and have since been dragged through a series of errors. My ability to recount every error along the way is impaired, and I hope that the information I am able to provide will be enough.
I plugged in my iPhone 4 and began the download process for iOS 5. I had to leave the room for about 20 minutes. When I left, I "think" my iPhone was in the process of backing up. When I returned, the screen on my laptop had gone black. I moved the mouse and found I was at my login screen. I typed in my password, and was returned to the screen, where an error message informed me something about there being an issue backing up or restoring my iPhone's content. the error tag (-50) was at the end.
I've since gone through a quadzillion amount of steps, nearly all of which I have forgotten, and am now at this point:
EDIT: When I clicked "John's iPhone" page again, I can see all of my phones information. If I click Restore, it asks me if I want to back up my settings. Before I had been clicking Back up, and kept arriving at the same error. If I click don't Back Up, it warns me that if I restore my iphone to factory settings, all of my media and other data will be erased. I obviously don't want that... but do I have to do it?
When I plug in my device, the page under "John's iPhone" is titled: Set Up Your iPhone. I can set it up as a new iPhone, or restore from backup. My only two backups are some time during march, and an option for a few minutes ago. The option from a few minutes ago would probably be the backup of an empty, content-less iPhone. Earlier I was able to view the amount of data stored on my iPhone, and it told me that it was empty.
Anyway, the main issue right now is, when I try to restore from the backup of my iphone from march and a few minutes ago, I get the error message: "iTunes could not restore the iPhone "John's iPhone" because the backup session failed".
At this point I am going crazy.
MY IPHONE ITSELF is at the stage where when I press the home button, the big word "iPhone" appears with the scroll bar at the bottom reading "slide to set up" in a million different languages. I then choose to enable location services, choose a wifi network, and either setup a new iphone, restore from icloud backup, or restore from itunes backup. I choose iTunes backup. I click next, and it tells me "connect to itunes"
I am connected to itunes. I am being bombarded with this error message and have no idea what to do. I'm afraid all of my contacts and images have been lost. Please help ASAP. I appreciate it so much.

If this is on the actual download from itunes then this is an issue with your ISP.
If this is on installing the IOS to your phone (after extracting file), then it could be a security software issue.

  • When I downloaded iOS 7 my iTunes album art automatically changed for me. Loved it. When I downloaded iOS 8 update it went back to the original artwork. How do I get it back like iOS 7??

Okay, I'm going to try and make as much sense as I possibly can without confusing people. I hope someone can help! So when I downloaded the iOS 7 update one 'major' change I noticed was that my album art in iTunes had automatically changed for me. It was really cool, more up-to-date, and overall enjoyed how it looked. Made it look a lot neater than my own album art I had put on there. Now, when I downloaded the new iOS 8 update I notice that all my album art when back to its original picture which I had put on there. How do I get it back to where it was when I downloaded the iOS 7 Update?? Any help would be greatly appreciated! I know this isn't the most "dying for help" question, but I'm curious anyways to why it has changed. Thanks!

Sorry no backup - no pictures.
Yes phone will automatically backup to icloud when on wifi and phone is charge, but your phone storage was full so it stop backing up.

  • IPad and iPhone runtime errors after ios 6 update at one site I use

I use an I pad and iPhone 4S.  Did iOS 6 updates and have no problems.  However today I went to one site, the NGC collectors society ( registery section requiring sign in) that I use and get the following error below.  I have cleared the cookies on my iPad and restarted, but still get the same error. I also made sure java script was on.  The same with the iPhone. So far this is the only problem I have had with the new ios6.  The site works fine with my laptop which is a MacBook Pro that is updated with the latest system software.

  • Adobe updater, error downloading CS5 Master updates

I am trying to update CS5 Master through the updater but I always get an error, "There was an error downloading this update. Please quit and try again later." for all of the available updates in Adobe Updater. All my CS5 applications work but I cannot update them.
    System specs:
Mac OS X 10.10.3 (2.4 GHz Intel Core i5, Intel Iris Graphics)
CS5 Master Suite (Photoshop ver 12.0 x64 as an example)

It looks like that worked. However a few notes to first time manual updaters using OS X.
Make sure Adobe Application Manager is closed prior to opening the .dmg file.
Premiere Pro and After Effects need a step-upgrade for each release (10.1, then 10.2, etc.; you cannot go from version 10.0 to 10.2)
Pixel Bender Toolkit 2.5 is not listed on www.adobe.com/downloads/updates.html it can be found at Pixel Bender Developer Center archive | Adobe Developer Connection
Premiere Pro 5.0.4 for electronic download is not listed on www.adobe.com/downloads/updates.html for OS X, but it is only for machines that have an ATI graphics card.
Thanks, Ned, for the help. It was a long process but...I finished.
